Summary: Great sound, great range, great phone.
Review: After accidentaly incapacitating my old uniden 900mhz model, i decided my next cordless would be a 2.4ghz model, with caller id. Happy with my previous experience with Uniden Phones, I purchased the TRU 346. Its an all around great phone. I decided to test its "extended range" and indeed it is far; I successfuly used the phone around the block from my house. The clarity is great; Digital Spread Spectrum virtually eliminates static.

Its an all around good phone.

Summary: Best phone ever.
Review: For years I've had trouble with many cordless phones. Either their batteries had a life-span of a phone call or their range was no longer than a single room. This phone has solved both of those problems. The range is very good (I can walk a couple hundred feet outside to my mailbox with little static) and the battery life has never once been an issue. Also, the ergonomics of the phone are quite fine. The best phone I've ever had, and I recommend it to everyone in my family that is in the market for a new phone.

Summary: Bad Keypad
Review: Great phone but after 8 months of use, the keypad no longer works. Warranty only covers 90 days ... . I will be looking for a new phone that is not Uniden.

Summary: Not Good
Review: Had the phone for a little over 1 year and the unit just stopped working. Was a good phone until then, just cannot believe the short life it had. The unit does not get a dial tone and talk keeps flashing on the LED. Tried their online support and they had me do this and that stating it would correct the issue; however, it still remains broken. This is the only phone I have had that only lasted a little over a year. I suggest you buy a different brand phone that will last longer than this one.

Summary: Excellent quality, features and price.
Review: Having owned cordless phones since their inception and with several months use with the TRU-346, I find this product has excellent sound quality, is easy to use and is very competitively priced. One need not consult the owners manual each time a number needs changed in memory. The display is adequate for caller ID and I particularly like the backlight feature of both the display and the phone buttons. The phone is light and with the supplied belt clip and an optional headset, hands free use is very convenient.

I hightly recommend the TRU-346 to anyone seeking a top quality cordless at a value price.

Summary: looks good but the sound is very hollow
Review: I bought this based on reviews here. I am returning the phone.

The features of the phone are nice, I like the feel and look of the phone. The size is good, the buttons are very workable.

However! The sound quality is awful. It's far worse than my old no-features cordless AT&T 900 MHz phone. It's worse than my cell phone. If this is the best of the 2.4 GHz phones, I'm not buying one and I'll deal with the sticky keys on my AT&T. I'd rather have the sound clarity. This phone has a very hollow and tinny sound. And if someone was speaking quietly it would be hard to hear them.

I can't recommend this phone if you are concerned with sound quality. If you just want features and a pretty phone, then you'll be fine.

Summary: Good Phone
Review: I bought this phone as a replacement for a three year old 900Mhz digital Toshiba. The positives: extremely lightweight, excellent range, and ergonomically well designed. The only negatives a are relatively short battery talk time and a slight decrease (!) in clarity compared to my old phone. The voices sound a bit 'tinny', like the person on the other end of the line is talking to you from inside a cave.

Summary: Solid phone, but misses a basic feature
Review: I bought this phone based on the positive reviews on Amazon. The phone feels solid and performs very well (clarity, range, battery life), but it's missing a critical feature - MUTE.

I never used to use mute, but it makes a big difference on home conference calls. It's necessary to have, and a lot of lower priced cordless phones have this feature. How'd they miss?

Just thought you all should know before you buy. Let me know if this was helpful.

Summary: Excellent phone compared to its peers
Review: I bought this phone from [a local retailer] after having tried 3 other 2.4GHz phones at the same price point (GE27930, VTECH 2420, Panasonic low end). By the time I opened this phone, I was carefully keeping each part of the packaging in anticipation of having to return the phone.

After the mandatory 20hour charging period, I finally tried out the phone and was very surprised by the sound quality. While the other phones exhibited static, white noise, very low transmit and/or receive volume, or feedback of my voice into the earpiece (which made for a weird echo), this phone's sound quality was exceptional, even out on the driveway. My room is down in the basement, but I was able to walk to the furthest room upstairs without a loss of signal quality (the GE, for example, gave me static as soon as I was 20ft away from the base, and was completely useless upstairs).

As far as the other features are concerned - I don't have CallerID, nor do I plan on using the directory, since my cell phone stores my numbers.

The only things that I would have liked to see would have been
1. a mute button.
2. a NiMH battery (it comes w/ a NiCD)
3. a speakerphone could have been a bonus, but not a necessity.

Summary: Excellent Phone!! It's worth the price!
Review: I cant believe I got the last one in stock!, this piece of art is an excellent phone for small and medium places. The features are great!: this keypad light makes it confortable at night, the caller ID makes me sure to answer or not (;-)...

But what i liked the most is the reach of the phone: i live in an apartment of 3 rooms and a medium living. its in a 5th floor...

My room is the last one in the place. so i tried the phone making and receiving calls, walking around the house, and i got down to the second floor without noise or interference...THIS WAS AMAZING...BUT I GOT TO THE STREET AND I COULD TALK AGAIN...BELIEVE ME!! AND THIS HEADSET COMPATIBLE FEATURE IS A GOOD REASON TO BUY IT...SO YOU CAN TRY A HANDS FREE HEADSET COMPATIBLE, SIMILAR TO CELL PHONES....WAO!!

THIS PHONE SEEMS LIKE A CELL PHONE! NO DOUBT TO BUY IT!!
