Summary: The Whistling Phone
Review: I bought this phone when it was $50 or $60 about a year ago. I thought it would be a decent phone for the price. It was what I would classify as below par (and not as the good below par as in golf). This phone never measured up to my expectations. It was cumbersome on the ear, had a terrible battery life, and only lasted me a year. One day my wife picks it up and all it will do is whistle at her. Despite several attempts to hang up the phone, take cords out of the wall and phone, the handset whistled on. My wife takes the phone into the other room and yanks the battery out of the handset to get it to stop. Finally, the phone gave up. And boy howdy, let me tell you, I'm glad it did because any second my wife was expecting the phone to go up in flames and melt in her hand in turn setting the house on fire. Bottom line of this review is the following: Do not use this phone unless you win it as a door prize. And secondly, if you do win it as a door prize, take the money you saved by not having to buy the phone and invest in a fire extinguisher to set by the phone. It will be money well spent.

Summary: VTEC review
Review: I have not been happy at all with the clarity of this particular phone. The battery has not ever worn down and people that I am talking with say I sound crystal clear, but there has never been one time that I haven't heard static. I live in a single family home and have no other electrical systems going that should interfere at all with it's performance. In fact, I am planning on returning this phone to the store where I got it.

Summary: Very Cheap!!!
Review: I think this is a really good phone, it has never died, and I have a sixteen year old daughter who uses it relentlessly. It looks cute and has an easy-to-read CID panel. I think those of you who are having problems with it must have left it out in the rain. Mine works great.

Summary: Worst Battery Life Ever!
Review: My mother and I have had this phone for maybe a year and a half. At first the bettery seemed fine. Now it goes out if you leave it off the hook for more then a few hours. Even when we got a replacement battery it still went out! I HATE THIS PHONE!

Summary: Cordless phone for the spare room
Review: ok, I bought this VTech 2428 2.4 HGz Analog cordless phone wihtout understanding what the numbers and abbreviations really meant. I am quite satisfied- I have had this phone for 6 months and it does what it described. It sits in the spare bedroom. The phone rings, communicates a message to the caller, and then a message to me/guest from the caller with the caller's number on the caller ID screen. We either listen to the messages or delete depending upon our mood at the time. The phone asks for little- to be plugged in and connected to the telephone line. This is all quite simple- for a little bit of money, I have a phone for the guest room- it works and so do we.

Summary: Small footprint, good quality.
Review: The upright base unit provides you with a very small footprint [takes up very little space] which is excellent for a night table. I found sound quality to be good, loud clear volume, easy to use, well placed buttons, lightweight handset and I liked the ability to store directly into the memory your incoming caller ID names/numbers. I don't know what some other people were talking about when they mentioned poor sound quality on this phone. They should try changing the digital channels on the phone or get their phone lines checked.
