Summary: Excellent Phone
Review: This is the best cordless phone I have owned and would buy another. For those that have a problem with the battery the problem is not the phone it is the user. I had a problem with mine and what I found is you cannot have the unit on charge, use it for a few minutes and place it back on charge. Leave it off the charger until it needs recharged. When it needs charging place it back on the charger overnight. Following this mine will last 2 to 4 days. One other good point on this phone is it has a very long range. I can still use it 300 feet away from the base.

Summary: too much noise
Review: Bought this phone and it has horrible reception. There is a constant hissing noise in the reception. Turn up the volume and the hissing drowns out the person on the other line.

Summary: BEWARE OF THIS PHONE & V-TECH!!!!
Review: Do not waste your money!!! I bought this phone in July. At first i was satisfied...Then I wasn't. First of all it was the reception and the voice volume. The reception was always static static static and the voice volume was terrible! Whenver you would talk you would hear your voice echo and you would hear a clicking sound. The ringers are annoying and terrible. But some people are saying that the battery life isn't long. I fully charged the battery and purposly left the phone off the charger for a battery life test. The battery lasted 6-7 days without being charged and was used constantly! I do not reccomend this phone at all!

Summary: LCD failed after 6 months
Review: Good features but it won't last.

When I first bought this phone I really liked it. It had a lot of useful features and decent sound quality for a cheap price. Unfortunately the LCD screen failed after 6 months, rendering the caller ID and phone book features completely useless. Another 2 months later and it started to randomly shut off during a call. Tried a new battery but that wasn't the problem. Sucks I paid $45 for a phone that worked for less than a year.

Summary: Very Good and Inexpensive
Review: Great phone for the price, the only bad feature is the display. It is hard to see the numbers, unless you hold it flat. Otherwise, definitely will buy from this company again. Purchased 3 phones from them and worked to perfection. Great looks too.

Summary: A very good buy!
Review: Hey, for 30 bucks with these features - who wouldn't buy this phone. Had it for 6 months, and love it - have had NO problems.
Phone Directory for 40 entries. Of course the price has fallen 10 bucks since I bought it.
Distinctive ring for any Phone Directroy Entry.
Call Waiting, Caller ID.
Caller ID.
Call Waiting History Name and Number Display for 99 entries.
Ten number speed dial.
Electronic Hold.
Four ring tones.
Redial last number dialed.
Message waiting indicator for Call Notes from Telco.
Clock Display at all times.
Phone Status Display at all times.
What a deal, huh? I thought the receiver was weak until I discovered the other day that I was holding the speaker about a quarter inch too low and when I moved it over my ear - wow, what a difference - very loud and clear.
Only dislike is hard to read display, but hey, what other thirty dollar phone has an extra bright one. I'll use my red LED display from Radio Shack that I can see from across my living room to see who is calling. Nothing wrong with this deal, let me tell you!

Summary: WARNING VTech 2428 Buyers
Review: I bought the VTech 2426 in Aug. 2003. I was never happy with the sound quality. I had learn how to position my ear on the handset to hear. Then in April the battery started dying. I couldn't leave it off the cradle for more than 2 hours. I decided to contact VTech to lodge a complaint. They were willing to send me another 2426 phone. I was not satisfied and asked if there could be a replacement model. Well, my replacement will be the 2428 and now I have read that the 2428 has the same problems. STAY AWAY FROM 2426 and 2428. Contact VTech Direct 1 800 624 5688 if you also have problems.

Summary: Buy a better phone
Review: I bought this phone last year, and paid about $70, and I really regret it now. The caller ID display doesn't work anymore, so when we get phone calls, we have to try to figure out who's calling based on the few readable characters. Plus, the battery is constantly dying, so I have to switch to my corded phone when I make a long phone call.
A minor annoyance has been that the caller id will read phone numbers as such (xxx) xxx-xxxx. Which is fine, but one of the functions of the phone is supposed to be calling back a number on the caller id. However, the phone doesn't know how to dial "1" before it dials the number, so the call never goes through. It displays the area code on local calls as well as long distance calls, so I've never been able to use this function.

Summary: The Whistling Phone
Review: I bought this phone when it was $50 or $60 about a year ago. I thought it would be a decent phone for the price. It was what I would classify as below par (and not as the good below par as in golf). This phone never measured up to my expectations. It was cumbersome on the ear, had a terrible battery life, and only lasted me a year. One day my wife picks it up and all it will do is whistle at her. Despite several attempts to hang up the phone, take cords out of the wall and phone, the handset whistled on. My wife takes the phone into the other room and yanks the battery out of the handset to get it to stop. Finally, the phone gave up. And boy howdy, let me tell you, I'm glad it did because any second my wife was expecting the phone to go up in flames and melt in her hand in turn setting the house on fire. Bottom line of this review is the following: Do not use this phone unless you win it as a door prize. And secondly, if you do win it as a door prize, take the money you saved by not having to buy the phone and invest in a fire extinguisher to set by the phone. It will be money well spent.
