Summary: room for improvement
Review: although the phone is lightweight and easy to use it has a few drawbacks. #1. can't get an additional handset unless ordering from internet or by phone. #2. can't get a replacement battery unless same as above. #3. doesn't have a locator button to find misplaced handset. that's just a few that have caused me endless hours of frustration. Look into other models.

Summary: Returning it
Review: As described in another user's review, the audio drops out periodically, while on the other end an annoying beep is heard. It sounds as if the user is pressing one of the keypad buttons. During a conversation with a Verizon customer service representative, the phone did this numerous times. I imagine the person on the other end thought I was just being a jerk. The handsets also echo the mic so you hear yourself talking. This is annoying as well. It's a nice looking phone, but this is clearly a low-end product. We are going to take it back and try to find something else.

Summary: Talk about a BAD phone
Review: DON'T BUY IT, DON'T BUY IT, DON'T BUY IT! The display goes out; the sound goes out; the phone goes out. What a mistake. I thought Target only sold quality goods. This phone should be shot and put out of its misery. I usually donate my old phones to goodwill or something like that but this phone isn't worthy of a charity donation. All the things people say about this phone are TRUE. Forewarned is fairwarned.

Summary: Good while it works...
Review: Experienced the same problems as many of the other reviewers. We had to send back the whole set after 8 months when both of the displays went dead. The replacement has lasted a little longer but both screens are now unreadable, and ofcourse, the warranty only covers the original purchase so we are having to buy a new phone now - we will not be purchasing one of these phones again, and likely staying away from Southwestern Bell.

Summary: Not worth the box it comes in
Review: Fading displays, phantom beeping, these phones are the most disappointing electronics we've ever owned. Target and Amazon should read these reviews and pull this out of inventory. I look forward to throwing this stuff out as soon as possible.

Summary: Good Phone but not Complete
Review: I asked for this phone as part of my wedding registry and was excited to receive this as my first gift. The phone works fine for the few days that I've (We've) had it for all that it is designed to do but for some reason the caller ID can not be reviewed on the base unit. Once the call is picked up by my answering machine the name and number disappears forever. I want to be able to see some sort of light flashing at least to let me know someone had called before I see who called on one of the two corless phones in the other rooms. Now I have to reinstall my trusty called ID box with the little red light. I am probably going to return it, and get one that has a better caller ID feature and also one with an integrated answering machine. It would be great to have only one box on my counter, as I was trying to stream line everything with this request in the first place. Overall pretty good but could easily be better.

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!
Review: I BOUGHT THIS PHONE AROUND C'MAS OF 2002. BY THE WINTER OF 2003, THE DIGITAL DISPLAYS ON BOTH THE PHONES WAS NO LONGER LEGIBLE. AND AROUND ANOTHER MONTH LATER, NOTHING WAS SHOWING UP ON THE DISPLAY ON EITHER PHONE! I CALLED AND COMPLAINED OF COURSE AND THE LADY I TALKED TO AT CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS VERY RUDE. SHE TOLD ME I COULD MAIL BOTH HANDSETS IN, AT MY COST, AND OF COURSE PAY FOR THEM TO FIX THE HANDSETS. AND PAY TO HAVE THEM SHIPPED BACK TO ME. I JUST TOLD HER THAT NO I WASN'T DOING THAT AND I WOULD JUST NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN. BUT, PLEASE, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. I HAVE HEARD NOTHING BUT THE SAME PROBLEM, WITH THE DIGITAL DISPLAY, MESSING UP ON THESE CHEAP PHONES!

Summary: Display Issues
Review: I can't say as I would reccommend this phone to anyone. We've had one for less than 6 months and now both phone displays are dead and unusable. Getting it fixed requires that the entire unit be returned whne there is nothing wrong with the base unit. If it's expandable then I don't understand why this entire system has to be returned to fix handsets. Obvioulsy it is not what it is advertised to be.

Summary: Terrible phone
Review: I created an account here just to add a comment on this phone...DO NOT BUY...the displays on ALL four of our handsets are in various stages of disappearing. I called and complained to the company which was a waste of time. The person who I talked to was rude and completely unhelpful; she said to change the batteries! I really regret buying this phone system. A '1 star' rating is too high.

Summary: Very Good Buy
Review: I don't know what the beep out problem is - hasn't happened to me. We are in a tri-level townhome and have three handsets (the 3rd handset was easily purchased from a Fry's electronics store as was the original set). The intercom feature is extremely useful and the quality of the reception with the handsets is excellent. I can walk out to the mailboxes (about 50 yards from our townhome) and it works fine.

I have not had any problems with customer service. After owning this setup for over a year, I have had problems with the display on 2 of the handsets (the 2 that came together with the base). One has been replaced, free of charge, costing only the postage to send it in. I will be sending the other handset tomorrow (again, free replacement). I got right in to customer service on the first try and talked with a very pleasant guy who gave me the return info. I'm guessing, but based on the other display problems mentioned, they got a bad batch of display modules and are replacing units (even beyond the 1 year warranty period) because of that. I would not hesitate to buy another product from Southwestern Bell in the future.
