Summary: satisfied
Review: After owning an AT&T 2.4 model #1455 this phone is gem. I am very satisfied with the range and clarity of the Uniden EXAI 5180. Evidently, changing the frequency from phones with a 2.4 to a 5.8 made a huge difference in static and range. It is fairly simple to set up with the use of the instruction booklet. The caller ID screen on the phone is somewhat small and the incoming phone number is a bit tough to read. I feel this a very good phone for the $65.00 I paid for it.

Summary: Great Phone....but the range
Review: I bought this phone after my trusty 900mgz broke and then about 4 different 2.4ghz phones. Uniden phones have always been my favorite because of their great features for their price. The clairity is great inside, but when you take the phone outside and the wind blows you get a ton of static. I also has strange ranges. I cannot go out my back door without breaking up, but I can walk halfway down the front yard(about 75ft) with prefect clairity. My 900mgz worked about the same!

Summary: Good phone - but what's up with the battery???
Review: I purchased this phone 2 weeks ago and was excited to find this affordable 5.8 GHz phone with an answering machine. I charged the battery just as it was explained in the manual. This phone has an excellent reception. No interference, and since I live in a condo I am never far way from the TV set or the microwave. I was so excited. I faithfully always put the phone back in the charger after I used it. Then I made a phone call to mom for over one hour and the battery went out during our conversation. I was shocked. Put the phone back into the charger and was never able to charge the battery back up. How dissapointing! Bought a VTech - 2416 but it's a 2.4 Ghz. Too much interference... Does not work for me, but the battery seems to hold... I am now on a quest for the "perfect" phone!

Summary: Value for money!
Review: I purchased this phone with low expectations having had vast interference and echoing on my previous 2.4GHz cordless phone. To date, all I have experienced with this unit is a tiny amount of hollowness in the call quality and that was during an international call, so it may have been other factors aside from the phone.
When you consider the price and that the unit has a built in answer system as well, it really is a good buy. I only hope that it is durable and lasts a long time!

Summary: I wish I knew ???
Review: I would like to type a review for this phone but I am still waiting to receive it! It seems someone sent it, after I ordered and prepaid for it, to the wrong address and UPS then sent it back to amazon as undeliverable. That was yesterday but amazon still will not take the blame, they want ME to keep checking for reasons why I never received it!! This whole thing is sickening! Is this phone any good? I wish I knew.

Summary: A+++ on setup and sound
Review: I'm glad I read the bad reviews here AFTER I bought this phone. It's been delightful, easy to set up, and everything has worked exactly as it says it will in the instructions. The best part, though, is the sound. It is crystal clear anywhere I've gone in the house -- which is admittedly not a huge area, but a marked improvement over my Panasonic 2.4GHz that just died. Does not have speaker phone so if that's important think about it, otherwise you can't go wrong.

Summary: i must be lucky..or maybe everyone else isn't?
Review: NO problems with this phone. range is excellent, both in a condo and in a huge townhouse, and it picks up very far into the yard in both places I've lived, the northeast and the south, the ringer works except when i turn it off either on the handset or the base(husband has pronounced cheekbones and accidentally does this while talking on the phone sometimes.)long battery life- it lasted while we moved and our new phone company screwed around over three weeks installing our new phone. VERy clear reception. caller id works fine , any problems were with the phone service company not the phone. Never tried the headset but the volume is adjustable both on the handset and base so i imagine that many of the complaints below were due to people not reading and following the instructions...nothing but praise for this baby, so lets hope it doesn't die/turn into crap/etc.

Summary: it's just OK.
Review: Overall a good phone, well priced at $64. It's lightweight, easy to use and easy to program. Sound quality is good. Range is ok.
However, we have experienced static and echo's several times when in use. The problem could be in the rural area we live. Either way, we returned the phone because it wasn't working for us. Bought the new GE 25893GE3 5.8 gh and haven't had any problems - it's a wonderful full featured phone. But it's about $30 more. The Uniden is still worth considering due to the features for the price.

Summary: Works great for me.
Review: So far this is the best phone I have ever owned. I got this same phone in the two headset version.
There are several things I like about this phone:
- Ring tone is pleasant and can be made quiet or off entirely.
- answering machine voice is easy to understand and not very machine sounding
- you can dial the number and hit talk like on cell phones
- The audio thus far has been crystal clear, i haven't heard a single snap or pop yet.
- programming is very straight forward and simple, didn't have to read the manual to figure out most of the setup
- batteries work well as so far I haven't had either phone go dead yet. But its brand new so the batteries should do well right now.

Overall the phone is great. Others who have issues likely got a phone with problems. If you get one without issue, you will not be upset with your purchase.
