Summary: darn good phone
Review: A very small phone with good audio and range.

Summary: Excellent little phone!
Review: After much comparing ordered this phone and used it for the first time yesterday and I love it! The ear piece is really nice and the phone itself is lightweight and easy to use. I used to use a headset with my old phone but really like having the options here. I work at home and use a headset and can even have the little ear piece underneath the headset while I work to take calls. Very cool! Have been asking each caller if they can hear me okay and they have all said yes. Also, I can hear them fine too. Am glad I chose this phone.

Summary: Love it, but you'll need a new headset
Review: As other reviewers have mentioned, this is not the TRUC46, it's the TRUC56. The difference is that the TRUC56 comes with one headset (the 46 has two), and the headset is a behind-the-head model. I find it difficult to get on. It curls over your ears to stay on, so you have to thread the tops of your ears between the ear piece and the round foam bit the noise comes out of. My right ear is much more willing to play this game than my left ear, perhaps because the microphone extends from the left ear piece. When the phone rings, I jam the headset on and spend the first minute of the call fiddling with my left ear to get it situated properly so the headset will stay on. The process is tedious enough that I've started leaving the headset on if I'm going to be in one place, but then my ear starts to hurt (just the left one). I am currently seeking a new headset.

Aside from the headset, the phone is great. It's even tinier than I was expecting, and it slides into a little holster with a clip if you wish to attach it to yourself, or it can just go in a pocket. I have a 2.4 GHz wireless access point, and the WAP and phone do not interfere with each other at all.

The phone also has better battery life than my regular cordless phone. The documentation claims 5 hours of talk time and 8 days of standby time.

Summary: An asset to productivity
Review: Currently, we have seven of these phones in use at our business (and slowly increasing), and all of the people that are using them, love it. As a Help desk/IT support person, this phone has boosted my productivity level. Since our company relies upon
sales, and most of our sales is via the phone, many in our sales force are using this phone and are very pleased with it.
In fact, I am writing this review prior to purchasing yet another Uniden TRUC46 phone.

Summary: Excellent though flawed
Review: I agree with all the positive assessments of this phone.

One major problem:
It does not play well with the Linksys 54g.
When receiving a phone call this phone will sometimes break your wireless Internet connection.

Attempts to change the frequency on the Linksys router and channel on phone do not provide more a few minutes solution to this problem.

I hope Uniden comes out with a 5.x frequently version soon, so I can upgrade mine.

For the moment, you may wish to think twice before purchasing this phone if using a Linksys 54g (2.4ghz) wireless router.

Summary: Excellent phone for home office
Review: I am a full-time telecommuter working out of my home office. I used to use the Plantronics CT-10 headset phone (similar to this, but 900 mhz), but after we moved to our new house, the Plantronics phone started picking up a radio station in the background if I used it in my office (extremely annoying). After some research, I found this problem might be fixed by upgrading to a 2.4 ghz phone. I was totally spoiled by all the features of the Plantronics CT-10 phone, though, and had a hard time finding something comparable in a 2.4 ghz. I searched all the electronics/office stores, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I wanted a very small unit that I could slip in my pocket or clip to my waistband w/a headset, very good sound quality, mute button, and caller-id. Seems simple enough, but I couldn't find anything that met the criteria until I searched and found this Uniden phone on Amazon.com. After waiting over a month because it was backordered, it finally arrived and I love it. It is even smaller and lighter than my old plantronics phone. I did not like the headsets that came w/it, but just plugged my old plantronics headset into it and it works perfectly. A great buy, also! Highly recommended!!!

Summary: Almost a perfect phone
Review: I am a professional phone...operator and VERY VERY VERY picky over the phone that I use. I have tried over 20 phones in the last 8 months to find one that both I love, as well as the clients with whom I talk. That being said, anyone who requires a great SOUNDING phone would truly appreciate this. You can hear a pin drop. You can hear your voice magnified as if you are in a recording studio. Very high quality.

It is small and lightweight, it has a clip, which I usually put on the collar of my shirt (or if I am not wearing one, it is also nice to hook on a pair of shorts or something because the cord is long enough) - the numbers are kind of small, but that's really no problem cause they are big enough to see.

The ONLY reason I give this four stars instead of five is NOT because of the sound quality. The sound quality is by far a five-star-rating. However.... I give this four stars simply because this phone is not reliable long-term.

In the first 3 days I had this phone, the plastic on the headset broke. So I glued it back together. Four months later, the cords on the headset completely stopped working and it would cut and break out during conversations. So I bought a headset replacement. I figured that since I had a new headset everything would work properly. Well it did for a little while. Within one month, the actual PHONE stopped working. And no, I never put this phone near water. It would just hang up in the middle of a converstion for no reason. Sometimes I would just pick up the phone and not even hear a dial tone. Even to this day, that phone doesn't work anymore. I had to buy another one.

Another not so good thing is that it only gives you about 2 hours of talk time, before needing to be recharged.

My advice to you is to get this phone. The sound quality is amazing and you will love it. However, I recommend buying a WARRANTY so that if something goes wrong you can get it replaced.

Summary: The sacrifice is battery life . . . and a headset
Review: I am revising my review downward due to one of the headsets, which has given out after three weeks!

No issues with sound quality, very small, mute button is a nice feature, etc. However, I was on conference calls for six straight hours today, and it finally gave out at the end of the sixth hour. Switched back to my old phone for the rest of the day.

Summary: This phone is great!
Review: I bought this after trying to decide between the similar Plantronics model and this Uniden TRUC46. I trusted the advice of other Amazon reviewers and tried the Uniden. I am completely satisfied with this unit. It's amazing how small it is, the sound quality is fine, reception is great, and it has tons of features. I highly recommend this cordless phone.

Summary: Loves it....
Review: I bought this as a xmass gift for my wife and she just loves it. She works from home a lot and is on business calls often. It has great sound quality and is so small and light it is great to carry around because it is not bulky. There are a ton of features but she does not use them often. She just loves to have her hands free and is able to get other stuff done when she is on the phone. This is a must have for any person who is on the phone often. A great product!
