The four AAA batteries (not included) will run the radio for an impressive twenty-two hours. This radio comes VOX (hands-free) ready, although it is designed to be used with a headset. The radio also comes with recharging circuitry should you decide to purchase the recharging kit assessory. The GMRS channels will provide up to a five mile range.
