These Uniden GMRS radios offer fifteen total channels (8 GMRS and 7 FRS), along with thirty-eight sub-channels for added privacy. This smart package arrives with a dual recharging unit and two NiMH battery packs. These battery packs will give you fourteen hours of use, while the optional four AAA batteries (not included) will run the radio for an impressive twenty-two hours. These radios come VOX (hands-free) ready, although they are designed to be used with a headset. The radios also come with recharging circuitry should you decide to purchase the recharging kit assessory. The GMRS channels will provide up to a five mile range. Other features include: backlit LCD display, channel lock, keypad lock, channel scan, five call tones and channel monitoring. Remember that you will need an FCC license to operate this radio.
