Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!! Go 4 IT!! Review: I bought this radio to communicate with my family in the ground floor of my apartment and the quality was exceptional. I even used it to tap radio transmissions and this can perform very well in bad weather conditions also, If u want to buy a radio , I personally suggest GO FOR IT!!!
Rating: Summary: You get what you pay for. Review: I figured that I couldn't go wrong with an inexpensive radio, but I was wrong. The radios actually function just fine in terms of range and clarity. The problem is that they are just poorly made. The first time one was dropped (and yes they will all eventually be dropped) it kind of exploded and did not go back together well. The battery location and means of holding in the batteries is much less than ideal, and just not well designed. I never tried the ear bud microphone because it was too poorly made to fit properly in my ear without pain. In sum, this was a cheap pair of radios that have confirmed the wisdom of shelling out the extra money for some well-made Motorollas. At least I have an extra set of radios when the need arises.

Rating: Summary: THESE ARE GREAT Review: I got them a couple of months ago and they are so cool. I have used them on car trips and campouts. They seem to be made very well. And for this price I think they are amazing.
Rating: Summary: Loud and Clear Review: I picked these up to replace a set that I bought prior to 2-way consumer radios coming with 14 channels, let alone 38 sub channels. I have to say that I'm very impressed with the clarity and range on these. I been skiing with them several times now and have had no problems getting in contact with others in the group that are often clear across the mountain. And now that I have so many different channel combinations I don't get annoying interference. The radios are compact and lightweight. The only thing that I see as a drawback to these is the size of the buttons. That being said, I would recommend these as a great value. When buying electronics, keep this in mind: Most companies (whether it's Motorola, Panasonic, Unwired Technology, etc.) use contract manufacturers to build their products. Additionally, most companies use standard components when building these products. So, it's very likely that the inside of a product from xyz company resembles abc's product. Using contract manufacturers and standard components helps companies improve margins and get products to market quicker.
Rating: Summary: THESE ARE GREAT Review: I purchased 2 sets of these radios to use while on a family trip to Disney World. They did work ok, but the protective rubber cover on the bottom of all 4 radios was lost within the first day of using them. This does not seem like a big thing, but the cover serves as protection in case they are dropped and also keeps the battery compartment cover from sliding off. If the design is changed, I may purchase them again, but for now, I have returned all 4 with the chargers.

Rating: Summary: Best for the Money! Review: I've purchased 4 of these and they are so much better than my Motorola radios. I've put mine thru some wear and tear times, and they haven't failed me yet. I haven't had any problems when I've dropped mine they have weathered well. Well worth the money!
Rating: Summary: Works well Review: Initial review is very good. Item is easy to use and appears to be made of good quality. Clear communications and compact size aa plus. Once I hit the slopes, I report back.
Rating: Summary: Great performance, budget price. Review: Just got mine yesterday, and tried them out at the slopes today. They performed as well as my other (more expensive) Motorola T289 and TA280SLK models. The privacy codes were compatible with the Motorola's. The channel scan feature is useless as you have to hold two buttons down simultaneously to scan. The 'roger beep' is a nice touch. The LED backlighting on the LCD is 'cheesy' looking compared to the Motorola's nice blue EL backlighting, but then again, I won't burst into tears if one of these budget radios gets lost.BTW, if your in the market for FRS radios in general, make sure they have the privacy code feature. This doesn't mean people can't listen in on you, but at least you won't hear other peoples chatter in crowded areas (like ski areas and malls).
