Rating: Summary: midland review test Review: I actually haven't used it that much yet, but one thing is that it doesnt' look as good as some of the other walkie talkies
Rating: Summary: This Product is High quality and cheaply priced. Review: This is the best 2 way radio I have ever seen. It is 3" X 1.5" You can scan to see if other people are using channels. It deletes all static, but if the transmission is to quiet it will cut off the transmission. You can disable this feature though when a message is breaking up you hit the MON button and you can hear it clearly. It has a way to listen to two channels at once and it is very long range. It also has hookup for the type of earphones that have a microphone attached.
Rating: Summary: The Cheapest, Yet Still Excellent Quality Review: I bought two of these several weeks ago and they work GREAT. I opened te box and not five minutes later they were up and running. The sound is INCREDIBLY clear, with almost no static, and the value is unmatched. They are also smaller than they appear, easily fitting into the palm of one's hand. A great buy!
Rating: Summary: The best radio for this price Review: These little radios work GREAT! I've used them A lot and they've worked better than I expected. The 14 channels are perfect for most users. If one's being used up, there's always at least one free. The range is pretty good too. I had one in a school bus talking to my friend, and I was in a 15 passenger van. We were able to talk clearly for nearly one mile, and about 1/4 of a mile later we started to break up. Not too bad on Los Angeles freeways if you ask me.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding quality for the price. It does what it says! Review: Our senior mobile home park has equipped its emergency response team members (we are in an earthquake area) with the Midland radios. They operate clearly within our 50 acre park, even when broadcasting inside homes with metal siding. The scan feature allows different layers of simultaneous net operation. The most amazing thing is how much power is packed into such a tiny package. Definitely a five star product!
Rating: Summary: Superior Design!!! Review: These radios are great!! They have a range of two miles, are the talk time is about 15 hours on a set of 3 AA batteries. It only weighs about 7oz. Comes with a belt clip and a wrist wrap. Supports an external VOX headset!!
Rating: Summary: Keeping in touch Review: We really enjoy having 2 of these. They have good clear sound and have come in handy alot of times. Especially when we are traveling or fishing. And when we are following each other on the highway it is alot cheaper to use these then our cell phones.
Rating: Summary: why not offer all the parts? Review: I ordered 2 of your FRS radios and the ear bud remote microphones. I did get all I ordered BUT your advertising to me, is misleading . I cannot use the remote earbud microphones. Why? Because they require an adapter Midland part number 22-001 Why wasen't this mentioned in your original write up? I tried to identify the part number from midland and it is not listed. So the ear bud microphones are usless. I expected that they should be Plug and Play as the advertisement implied. Where can I find such and animal?
Rating: Summary: Great for a week, aweful for a lifetime Review: We bought two of these to use during our summer vacation. We caravaned from the SF Bay Area to Central Oregon with another family who had a pair of Motorola's. One channel was for the adults, and one for the kids. We could hear each other clearly even when we lost sight of each other on the road.I would say that the range is 1 - 1.5 miles, not two (maybe 2 miles in the Bonneville Salt Flats ;{p}. Ours work well (I read that a few customers received non-working radios). They appear to be well made, and fit comforatably in the hands of adults and children alike. I plan to use the headset jack for skiing this winter. The only reason to pay more for a Motorola radio is if you want the 38 sub-channels for less interference and greater privacy.
