Summary: Not exactly the best....
Review: Thinking this was similar to the Motorola walkie talkies I purchased two of them, but was disappointed and am returning them. No way the range is 1-2 miles on these - I started with static at 1/3 mile in shopping areas and 1 mile in an open residential area. Good for kids use or under one mile in open woods....

Summary: Not what it claims!
Review: I didn't like these radios...i have returned them. Problems encountered 1) when you bump the unit (even slightly), the batteries jump out of place and you have to open up the battery compartment and re-seat them. 2) Noisy - too much static and cuts off 3) no way is this a 2 mile range. we had trouble using them in a department store when we were one department apart. They're range is very limited - maybe a couple blocks outside.

These radios are reminiscent of the old walkie talkie I got as a kid for Christmas, although they are better than that. This may be a good kid's toy, but the battery jumping out of place will be a problem with kids.

If you're interested in a radio for your family to stay in touch at the mall, outings, etc. spend a more money and get something better...that's what I plan on doing.

Summary: 75-507 is Good Buy But Not a Great Bargain
Review: As is usually the case, you get what you pay for. The quality of the 75-507 is not poor but it is clearly not high quality either. Unlike the more expensive units, this one is not water resistant. The signal quality and strength is good and the range is about 1.5 miles in open terrain. I found the battery cover difficult to remove without removing the belt clip first. And, contrary to the specifications and editorial review, the 'Roger-beep' function is off by default and must be turned on manually each time the radio is turned on. According to Midland's tech support, this is a design change for which a change to the owners manual was not deemed necessary. On balance, the units are worth the price but no more. As for Amazon.com, the product was delivered in just a few days, well packaged and in excellant condition. Whether or not you buy this product, Amazon.com is 5 star.

Review: We use these radios for hunting, the range is perfect for our needs the really nice thing is that you dont have all the skip that you have with c.b.radios.I would recommend this radio to anyone with a need for communication on flat ground up to 1.5 miles personally I do not believe that you will get 2 miles out of these radios but for the price I am very satisfied also they are compact enough to fit in a shirt pocket easily. The batteries last a good while before they need to be replaced.

Summary: Just bought for Christmas presents to Others
Review: I was impressed with ratings it is getting from Amazon so I bought it. The packaging and documentations is not as impressive as the other competitor FRS radio. I did not see any warranty card. Really the quality of the documentations/packaging need a lot of improvements in presentation/paper usage. I am having some hardtime removing the battery cover to put in and remove the batteries. But so far, testing looks ok and off to gift-wrapping and hopefully recipient will be happy and product can endure the wear and tear usages.

Summary: Great little radios
Review: I just purchased two of these and tested them soon after receiving them. They work great, are easy to use I especially like the ringer feature. The range was approximately 1.5 miles or more and this was in town with buildings around us. The sound was crisp and clear and static free. I also liked the transmit button on the side of the unit instead of in the center like some other units. The small size allows you to put these in your shirt pocket. I would recommend these to anyone. Thank you

Summary: Just got a pair delivered from Amazon
Review: Tested just at a mile with 1 radio in a car --- but the instruction manual warns you that if you are in a vehicle the range will be reduced. I would definately recommend these radios. Voice activation delay is annonying, but would not keep me from buying them as in most cases you will not use voice activation anyway.

Summary: GREAT product GREAT price!
Review: I bought a set of these from amazon and they are everything they said they would be. I then ordered another set (I thought) from Audio-Direct.com and they sent only one radio but the ad said RADIOS. I've returned it. And re-ordered from Amazon...can't beat em!

Summary: Excellent product, well worth the buy
Review: The cheapest(price wise) 2-way radio available with a 2-mile range. When i go running for school I always talk to my friend(at least 1 mile away) clearly with one of the 14 channels available to use. Also I talk to him when he can't use the phone 1.5 miles away through the Hills and Forest! Its just an amazing product. I had bought it at a circuit city in a pair for $ but the $ each is just absolutly a must buy. The VOX is also a great feature where you can talk hands free, and you can even scan the channels and get people on. Conclusion: Lots of features, VERY inexpensive and a Great Buy!
