Rating: Summary: Good radio for family use Review: The FR50 performed admirably under the conditions created by my family. It is perfect for keeping track of each other in ski resorts, theme parks, or even between your house and your friends'. You can't beat the price, and with 14 channels you can find an empty one for you to use, even without privacy codes.
Rating: Summary: Motorola FR50 Talkabout Review: This unit performed fine. Does not have channel scan feature found in the FR250. Display was not as nice as 250. Size was also slightly larger. Range etc. should be same as FR250.
Rating: Summary: Fine for basic use Review: We bought a pair of these for use with our new baby -- since I'm nursing and babe only sleeps on my lap, there were a lot of times where I had been stuck on the couch in the dark. Not anymore; even when my husband is two floors away, he is still at my beck and call :) And when babe and I go for a walk, I can keep him informed about where we are and when we'll be back. We've also used them for convoy-style car trips with my sister and her husband, which is really a lot of fun, and saves all kinds of hassle when one of us gets lost or needs to stop. I think these are a must for new families. My only problem: we bought ours at Best Buy for $90 (pair), and I just found out it would have only been $74/pair here! Argh!

Rating: Summary: All are the Same Review: With the many types of FRS radios out there. You can expect the same range of receptions. You do not need the senseless features other radios have to offer. The Motorola FR 50 is all is needed. 14 Channels are plenty to move around if you feel you need privacy to chat with your parties. The down far of this radio like many others, it does not offer a rechargable battery and charging jack. You either buy alkines or a separate charging outlet and rechargable batteries.
