Summary: Even works with Macs
Review: I got this to go with my T28 world phone and after a bit of a struggle (requiring my creating a new modem script) was able to get this to work with my Mac Powerbook, as well as a PC notebook. While you shouldn't expect this to be a speedburner (9600 baud, but compression may give faster effective speeds) it does work as advertised (and even as not advertised).

Summary: WORKS WELL BUT A BIT SLOW
Review: I have been able to connect my Compaq iPAQ to an Ericsson T28 Dual band (GSM) phone using the Irda port (I also use RedBook software on the Ipaq to synchronize Outlook and my phone contacts). The good news is that it works perfectly, but DO keep the phone as close as possible to the device to avoid a break in the link. The bad news is that the first modem I had stopped working (I am pretty sure it was the connection between the phone and the modem, as the connection was intermittently functional). However, I replaced the modem about 4 weeks ago and was able to use it everywhere....including while travelling on a coach through Italy! My service provider is Powertel and I pay 5 bucks a month for a data line connection, and that gives me 9600bps, though it actally seems to be faster than that (the connection between the modem and the Compaq is in fact set at 38kbs right now). In summary...it works, reliably.A tip...I use velcro on the modem to keep it attached to the outside of my T28 holster, and I have Velcro strips in the back of a notebook I use to keep both the Ipaq and the phone in close, stable contact with each other. This arrangement works a dream, and is very convenient.

Summary: di28 how to use ?
Review: i use the di28 with my palm m100 so i can send e.mail. this is a good modem and very ussfule and esey to use. it has one problem it must be use on a hard seffess. it help's me to concet my t28 to my palm m100.

Summary: Fine Product, but software needs updating
Review: This IR adapter works fairly well with both my iPAQ 3135 and a Win2k laptop. My only beef with it is with the software it comes with: the CD contains obsolete stuff, and what can be downloaded from Sony Ericsson is not much better (No support for Outlook XP for the contacts manager, the configuration software is pretty much useless IMO). I strongly recommend PhoneSync, or other similar software, if you want to synchronize contacts with your PC

Review: Works great with a Win2000 notebook. The software is easy to install. Get the latest software version from Ericsson's website as the CD that's incuded has older versions.
The only problem is that it is on the slow side. It connects at 9600 bps only, but it shows a 38400 bps laptop line connection.
Not for extensive web surfing but it allows you to do quite a bit of work when away.
