Summary: Total Garbage
Review: A worthless waste of money, this case drops my phone regularly. Finally, I decided that using a rubber band over the leather case would make the phone more secure. It has not come loose since.

While leaving Ft Meyers Airport in Florida yesterday a Security Guard asked if the rubber band was holding my phone together. I had to admit that it really does. The phone is a week old and looks like it has been through a war. It hit the ground at least two dozen times in three or four days.

This case is poorly made, the design is okay but the material required was used far too sparingly to make it a serious product. The leather is cut back just enough to appear to be sufficient but falls short. The velcro drops about a quarter inch too short to prevent the phone from dropping out.

It is obvious the product isn't made to complement the phone, it's just merely to make an extra few dollars. Had this phone broken from one of the drops I never would consider a Nokia again, only because the lack of attention to detail would persuade me to think that the craftsmanship may extend to the phone itself.

Summary: Nokia case alternative
Review: After reading posted reviews, I found I must attach the holder to my belt, then attach the phone and case to the holder. It looks like a very useful case, but since I don't wear a belt often and wanted to hook the clip to the top of my jeans, this case wouldn't work. I instead purchased a Motorola StarTac case. I removed the inside plastic from the top half of the case and attached Velcro to both top and bottom. I now have a case with a clip, and it closes to protect the front of the phone. It's still easy to remove the phone from the case for use. Thanks for your reviews, they helped a great deal.

Summary: lost phone
Review: As reported by other people, I have also lost my phone due to this ill-designed, defective belt clip. I got the clip for Xmas, lost the phone on January 10th. Pretty sad this is the original Nokia accessory.

Summary: lost phone
Review: As reported by other people, this carrying case really looks nice, *but* you will lose your phone. I got the carrying case for Xmas, lost the phone on January 10. It separated from the clip.

Summary: Great Case! Doesn't fall out!!
Review: First of all, it is plainly obvious that this case doesn't offer front protection. Other cases do. If you're looking for that type of protection, buy that type of case. This case was clearly designed to offer portability to the phone by allowing the user to clip it to his belt -- not as a protective cover. Don't buy a Corvette and complain that it can't go off-road, if you want to go off-road, buy a truck. Second, the phone doesn't fall out of the case. I work in an office and do a combination of walking around and sitting at a desk. I also wear it on weekends and have had it on during mild yard-work. I've never heard/seen the velcro enclosure even appear to be coming undone -- 5 months use. It may as well be glued shut. The case is a very tight fit (which is a good thing), so getting the velcro strap down initially takes some effort. But that's the end of it. I like this case a lot. It doesn't add bulk, it allows easy carrying of the phone, the leather is nice, the swivel clip works great, and it is stable. If you use this phone in an environment that necessitates protection or puts abnormal stresses on the velcro strap, then perhaps you should look elswhere for a case. In fact, I'd look for a different model of phone -- one that is more rugged than the tiny 8260.

Summary: Looks good but has its flaws
Review: Fits like a champ and looks very sleek when installed. Velco closure needs some work; it actually catches on the belt clip and can come undone leaving your phone flapping in the breeze. Case must be removed for pocket carry unless you're fond of the bulge in the pants looks, and sewn in swivel is flimsy and prone to premature wear. Beyond that, there is no protection for the clear faceplate, this phone's most easily scratched component. A better idea would be a close fitting, high quality leather cover with plastic over the faceplace and a decent belt clip built in.

Summary: The most worthless purchase I have ever made
Review: I bought this case thinking that it would protect my phone, but it does not come close to doing that. There is absolutely no protection for the faceplate, in fact hardly any leather to protect anything. The phone is also prone to falling out of the case easily. The case does not even do what it claims to do, "enhance the beauty of the phone." What a piece of junk. Do not buy this case unless you want to destroy the beauty of your phone, which I think looks quite attractive without a case, and potentially destroy the phone itself.

Summary: Depends on the purpose of the case
Review: I bought this case with only one purpose in mind, which was to carry the phone with the belt clip (versus in my pocket). The clip swivels and took a lot of abuse when getting in/out of vehicles and banging into things on accident. If you are buying this case to protect the phone, there are much better choices. The case worked great for me the first year until the velcro wore down. After this, the top fastener on the case loosened up and the phone tended to slip out....just replace this case each year and you'll be fine. Otherwise, it worked out great for me.

Summary: Bad job...
Review: I just bought the case. The first day my phone fell twice. The mechanism is not well engineered (Not engineered at all). I stopped using it the next day I bought it.

Summary: A little Duct Tape
Review: I love the look of this case, the fact it is made of leather, and that it enables my phone to attach to my belt. However, the aspects of it that disappoint me are far more numerous:

* the case makes my previously small and sleek phone quite bulky and more cumbersome,
* the screen of the phone could have easily been protected with a clear plastic cover but is left exposed and easier to scratch,
* the phone cannot be placed in a desktop charger without removing the case,
* the case is constantly having to be readjusted because the velcro closure does not hold tight and the case eventually moves in front of some of the holes made for the earpiece making it harder to hear, and
* the placement of the swivel mechanism and the velcro on the case make it more difficult for the phone to actually swivel.

The velcro closure is on the upper back of the case, just above the sewn-in swivel mechanism which slides into the holder on your belt. The width of the velcro closure actually closely matches the width of the grooves in the belt holder, so often times you have to pull your phone straight up to remove it from the belt holder. Otherwise you will pull up the velcro as you remove your phone and your case will not fit properly again. That's not something you want to be dealing with when receiving a call.

It makes me wonder if Nokia did any product testing with real people before releasing this case option to the general public.
