Rating: Summary: Great and inexpensive service Service with no Contracts Review: I am TracFone customer since last 2-3 months. I am extremely satisfied with this. Earlier I was paying around [money]/- a month for AT&T service with 1 year contract and sometimes I used to get a large bill if I exceed the included minutes as there was no good way to track the minutes used in that month. I switched to tracfone as soon as my contract finished. If you buy 60 minutes time, it is valid for 60 days and only in around [less money]/-. Great! and no contracts. I found customer service good and responsive. I bought the refurbished phone which started giving problem after a week of service. I contacted TracFone and they gave a new replacement phone. It has free voicemail also and you can check your voicemails from another phone and so yo do not loose your TracFone minutes. You may also get $25/- free airtime....
Rating: Summary: Best Prepaid Plan on the Market Today Review: I bought my Tracfone in August because we were going on a wilderness vacation. I wanted the comfort of being in touch with my daughter while I was away, but didn't want to go to a lot of expense, didn't want to worry about surprise charges, and definitely didn't want a contract. The Tracfone was cheap, no activation fee, no hidden charges, and the 30 minute card suited my purpose perfectly. I called my daughter once, and she called me twice. I had 8 minutes left when I got home, and I bought another 30 minute card at a local store. That card extended my time till after Christmas. I called my daughter while we were on the road Thanksgiving Day. This is a PERFECT phonecard arrangement for anyone who really wants a cell phone for limited use. The minute cost might sound high, but remember that this is the ONLY cost, and it's not use-it-or-lose-it. I love the fact that I don't have to try to use the minutes before they expire.
Rating: Summary: Best Prepaid Plan on the Market Today Review: I have a tracfone, and absolutely love it. The way it works is this: you have to buy a card every couple of months to keep the phone active, but the minutes roll over as long as you don't let it lapse. Also, the phone tells you each time you turn it on how many minutes are left and when your next card is due. For someone who uses their phone for emergencies and occasional use, this is ideal, I have NO complaints.

Rating: Summary: ANYONE WANT 100 FREE MIN? Review: I have had this phone since Sep 2004 and I have not a problem with it. I love it because all around, I think this is the best prepaid phone plan compared with other plans. Other plans are a little more costly and also Tracfone is the only one that offers a referral plan.

Rating: Summary: Desire vs. Need Review: If you desire a cheap phone, then this is it. Physical size is slightly larger than average. Feature navigation is easy. Clarity is good outside, deep inside especially under alot of heavy metal is bad and signal would drop, brick buildings are average but have to strain to hear. Cost more effective if bought on a yearly basis. Customer service is average. Easy enough to get started the first time you activate your phone. But if you have a "Technical Problem" like transferring minutes to another phone... be wary! They have the worst Tech support service I have ever encountered. At times I'd wonder if they were "Out-sourcing" their tech support department to a Kindergarten Class. It is hilarious! I thought they were doing a skit for the Comedy Central. Hopefully you don't encounter this situation if you choose to go with Tracfone. If your need is just emergency, then I suggest another company with a better plan. Tracfone did away with 10 minute cards, so you have to buy 40 or 60 minutes and then renew again every 30 days. Overall rating.... for about the same amount you'd buy a tracfone and refill card, you can get a better service and more cost effective for your money with another company than Tracfone.

Rating: Summary: Tracfone has a lot of competition now Review: Last year and even the beginning of this year I would have recommended tracfone to friends/family...that was before the At&t 2 Go Phone, it has more features; rings, text messaging, cheaper minutes, and free nights/weekends/holidays. The tracfone can no longer compete!

Rating: Summary: Great Gift! Review: The tracfone prepaid airtime cards make the best gift. We really wanted to give my parents a cell phone; they are retired and on the road a lot in their motorhome. We wanted to be able to contact them. But, we did not want to stick them with a monthly fee on their fixed income. So the trackphone with these prepaid airtime cards was perfect. We can give them airtime in advance. And it makes it easy to give a gift they can use anytime.
