Rating: Summary: It's good for what it does but.... Review: be forewarned-- it doesn't come with software or any kind of documentation-- just the cable. however, i found it pretty easy to set it up under win 2000; just install it as a Standard 19200 bps modem through the "Install New Modem..." wizard. i had to fiddle a bit with the settings but i got it to work.in sum, it's a good product, and cheaper than buying the full data kit from Sprint, but be prepared to set it up yourself. and i'm not really sure how to use the charging port... seems to require yet another cable? the marketing of this product as a "charging cable" seems quite misleading. since i bought the product, the only thing that has been "charged" is my VISA card.

Rating: Summary: No Software Review: I bought this cable for my SCH8500 (Sprint PCS). Be advised, this is a cable only - no software to enable your phone as a modem, transfer PIM data from your Palm or Outlook. There is a charging port on the side of the block in the middle of the cable (contrary to a previous review). I must now return this item and buy the cable directly from Sprint PCS that comes with the software.

Rating: Summary: Just make sure you know what you're getting... Review: I did my homework on this one (and it wasn't easy) before I bought it, so I knew what I was getting, and I'm pretty happy with it. If you want a box that has everything you'll need in it, this ain't it. Here's the scoop. The cable connects your Samsung phone to the 9-pin serial port on your computer. The cable itself does not charge/power the phone. About halfway along the cable there is a connector to which you can attach Samsung's travel or cigarette lighter chargers (each sold seperately of course). The cable comes with no documentation or software whatsoever. If you bought the cable for internet access, and you really know what you're doing (or don't mind digging around on the web), you don't really need software. Your carrier may also be willing to help you set it up. My wireless carrier (Sprint PCS) does allow you to download (free of charge) both software and documentation that makes connecting to the net pretty easy. Don't expect blazing speed, either. The best my carrier can do with my phone and their present towers is 14.4 kbps (of course they promise something new and improved is on the way...). It's slow as molasses, but better than nothing. If you want this to transfer your address book to the phone, I think you will need to buy a program to do it.

Rating: Summary: It's good for what it does but.... Review: I really like the cable because I can hook it up to my palm or Ipaq and do internet on the go, however the combination makes both components tend to be battery hogs. The cool thing about this is that if you are just connecting to a mobile device, you do not need additional software!
Rating: Summary: Charging? Review: Seems there's no power pin in the cable (see the little yellow circle thingy in your phone). This cable definately does data, but unless it powers the phone some way i'm missing, it doesn't have the power adapter pin.
