Rating: Summary: case strap protects antenae if dropped....a phonesaver!!! Review: After having to replace three different phones because of cracked plastic antenae cases as a result of dropping my phone, the feature I like most about this case is that the strap wraps around the antenae and protects right where all the others have cracked, rendering the phone useless.....
Rating: Summary: handy case that looks sleek and comfortable Review: This case lets me have a better looking phone. It is versitle and gives you the injoyment of a case that is fairly inexpensive
Rating: Summary: Phone won't close Review: This is a fine case except for the clear plastic that covers the keypad. This plastic cover is sandwiched in between the keypad and the earpiece flip cover and prevents the 8500 phone from closing as it was designed. With the phone closed in the case, the flip portion rests on top of the plastic and not flush to the body. Not only does this look like the phone is in the wrong case, but the resulting gap between the flip earpiece and the base could cause the phone to catch onto something, separating the flip cover from the base. Ouch!If you're looking for an excellent holster for the 8500 to wear on a belt, go for the plastic clip holster also sold by Amazon. That's a five star case. I traded my leather in for the plastic, never had the phone fall out, and never had a problem inserting or removing. A much better holster for belt wear. The leather is better for purse use.
Rating: Summary: doesn't last long Review: This leather case is not very durable. After about 2-3 months of casual use (put it on and off my belt once or twice a day), the metal clip started to tear out of the back. Also, the clip is located too far down, so the phone protrudes more "above" the belt when it is worn -- this is very annoying because the antenna catches quite easily on a jacket or other clothing. Also, the clip's grip is quite strong (good, because the phone won't fall off), but it can be hard to put it on or off (especially when sitting down) if you clip it onto your belt. Also, the case does not provide any protection on the front part (the upper wing when unfolded) at all. On the plus side, the clear plastic cover does a nice job of protecting the keypad from dirt or moisture (when you talk). Also, the case will fit the phone with either the slim or the extended battery attached. (But if you switch between the two often, the case will expand and will feel loose with the slim battery attached.) Unless you are an extremely casual user or tend to put the phone in a purse, bag or compartment, I do not recommend this case at all. The plastic belt clip is a much more durable alternative for men (but probably less aesthetic or useful for women who don't wear the phone on their body or purse strap).
