Summary: Great for phone book and schedule updates
Review: Bought it on the half price special, so it was really worth the money.

Transfered all my phone numbers, appointments, birthdays, and anniverseries to the new phone in one sitting - PC keyboard is much faster than the phone keys...
Although you can't assign numerical order to phone book entries.

Cable doesn't always stay attached or attach the first try, but USB hot connecting is better than serial.

Software is supposed to be compatible with Lotus Notes, but haven't got it to work yet or tried customer service.

Summary: Doesn't Sync Contacts "By Design" (3.1 version)
Review: From Motorola's customer support site:
"The phone only supports one phone number per contact per field. So when you perform a sync with contacts that have multiple phone numbers, TrueSync enters each contact separately as many times as you have phone numbers for it. This is working ***as designed***."

All personal information management software (like MS Outlook) allow you to enter more than one phone number per contact (fax, cellular, home, etc). If TrueSync cannot sync contacts with more than one phone number then TrueSync is completely unsuited for its intended purpose.

TrueSync also puts duplicate contacts on your phone each time it is sync'd with your computer. So if you have 30 contacts with 3 phone numbers each, after three sync's you get to manually delete about 60 duplicate contacts from your phone.

TrueSync will also hose up all of Outlook's Business Name fields. By default TrueSync maps Outlook's Business Name field to the phone's Company field. After sync'ing, all Business Names disappear from Outlook's Address Card folder view. If the phone's Company field is mapped to Outlook's File As field, then it rearranges all of the Business Names. Delta Airlines becomes Airlines, Delta. This happens no matter how TrueSync's First Name, Last Name setting is adjusted.

TrueSync also removes all of the formatting from Outlook's phone numbers. Nicely formatted numbers like (800)-555-1212 becomes 8005551212. This happens regardless of whether TrueSync's Preserve Phone Format option is selected.

Summary: Not for all phones listed
Review: I bought the data kit mainly because I needed to synchronize my calendar. I have a V120t phone and when I try to synch, only the contacts worked. The program didn't gave me the option for the calendar. I downloaded the upgrade with no effect. I tried contacting starfish and Motorola for help and Starfish told me that they do not provide support for motorola products, Motorola haven't answer my mails...What a waste of money.

Summary: A total failure by Starfish and Motorola
Review: I don't even know where to begin. So, from the top, this package (on the box that is) says that it is compatible with most PIMs (Personal Information Managers) and that the Outlook component is included, other by web updates. Well, that isn't true. The Outlook and their own worthless version are the only ones that can be loaded. I purchased this (after visiting several sites, including amazon) to connect ACT! with my phone. This seemed resonable as the TimePort version (looks the same from the outside) works great.

Well, without paying much attention I loaded the software and because I owned the earlier version, it tried to work with ACT!. After recovering my totally destroyed database (wipped out nearly all phone numbers), I called.

Starfish claims to not support any products sold to Motorola (by the way Starfish is a division of Motorola). So I called Motorola. They said that ACT! isn't supported and that it says this on the box (that isn't true, I scanned and sent JPGs of the box to them). In fact, installing this package on a computer you will find that Outlook (and Starfish) and ONLY Outlook are supported by either the CD or the "Internet" updates.

If you own the old version of the Sync software, you can trick this into thinking it will work, and may have luck. However, it doesn't do most of the things that it claims. Also, the GPRS will load every time you boot unless you finally feed it a user name and password (from your provider) or you kill the registry entry.

I've never been so displeased with a product. Support from Motorola was at least an attempt. Support from Starfish was nothing more than a coverup.

I would avoid this package (and probably the V60 phone as well) if I were really looking for a good quality integrated product.

Summary: Haven't gotten this product to work
Review: I have a Motorola V400 phone (Motorola says this is the right kit for this phone, although it is not on the list of compatible phones at Amazon). Anyway, I can't get the phone driver to install on Windows XP. This may not be a problem for other phones, but I wanted to warn buyers who have a V400 that ths product did not work with my V400.

Summary: So great to surf internet with mobile phone!
Review: I have a Motorola V60g phone(T-mobile). I bought this USB data kit recently. It works great!! After I install software in the kit, my mobile phone works as a modem, I can use my own dial-up ISP to access internet. I do not pay any additional charge to T-mobile if my do not use extral minutes. I called T-mobile to and confirmed that. The speed is comparable to dial up by homephone line!Every minutes you used is just charged as regular call if you use your own ISP(AOL,for example)/

It is said this software works only with window 2000 or XP.

YES! You can access internet with this kit!

You are welcome to ask me any questions.

Summary: Useless and unsupported buggy junk
Review: I ordered this kit when I purchased my v.60t phone last year. Software arrived with very poor documentation. I wasted about 5 hours trying to get it to install on win98se and winME with no luck at all. Could not reach any form of human tech support, and finally gave up and returned it for a full refund. I am now going to try some newer third party software and see if it works. I can't believe Moto even released this junk...the only people I know who got it to work run win2k and are IT professionals.

Don't waste your time or money.

Summary: Why Bother
Review: I purchased this cable because I was interested in wireless internet connection. My local ISP only pulled in at about 14kbps and I was looking for a reason to drop my wireline connection anyway.

I only have one thing to say. SLOW!!! It only pulls 9.6kbps max. This was confirmed by Cingular's customer service. If you are looking for wireless internet, this is not the way to go.

Summary: It would be great if I got the correct CD with it.
Review: I was able to install the drivers and get my cell to act as the modem and connect to the internet using my dialup provider. It was a bit slow but it was fast enough to get my e-mail and do some browsing. A bit slower than a normal dial-up. When I tried to install the TrueSync software I could not find it. Come to find out I did not get the correct CD or I am a total moron and am looking over the link to install it. I even browsed the CD and did not see anything that even resembled a TrueSync folder or installation file. I paid for the TrueSync version of the software but I got the lower end version that does not come with it. ...
