Summary: Great phone, okay plan.
Review: This phone is great. The reception is wonderful and I've never had a dropped call. The phone's features are easy to use and handy.the phone has stood the up to the test of durability many times.Overall a wonderful phone. p.S. I highly recommend this phone to middle school age students because it's prepaid.

Summary: Reliable but so boring!
Review: This was my first cell phone I ever got. I was so excited to have it. I showed it off and everything. Now, it's been about 2 years and I still have it. It's durable and has been through a lot, but this Christmas, I'm hoping to get the new Virgin Mobile Slider. I'm embarrassed to show this phone now. It's so big and bulky compared to the other phones out there that are slim and in. The ringtones are also another reason that this phone is boring! They aren't hip and new, they're like ringtones out of the 1800s! The ringtones are actually little "beeps". My Mom has the same kind of phone and is loving it. She shows it off like it's the hottest new thing ever. I think this phone makes some adults happy but it isn't for teens.

Summary: Good Training Wheels
Review: This was my first phone (and though I'm going to be in the market to upgrade soon) I've had it for I think two years now...or going on two years, and still really like it. For someone who has never had a phone before, it's very user-friendly. For someone like me who wanted a phone but is not constantly using it and is still making college student kind of money, the pay as you go thing is a lifesaver and really all you need. It gives you a ton of flexibility that most plans don't give you for all the happy shiny talk in the beginning. I also love the size, not being a fan of those itty bitty phones. It feels good in your hand, substantial enough without being bulky. I loved the faceplate that came with mine.

On to the downside: I never had problems with it breaking or any of that the other people mentioned, but I hate all the voice activated menus on their help number and the annoying automated attendent who prods you every step of the way. It's nice you have all those options available, but I'm always having to repeat myself a hundred times. The ringtones are great---really great selection and I love the ones I have, but like the other person said...go online. Do not connect via the phone because you don't get to see half of what's there and it's just a big hassle.

All in all, I would recommend this in a heartbeat as either a first phone, or an emergency use or part-time phone for someone who wants the benefits of a phone but doesn't want to deal with long contracts, doesn't use it enough for a plan to be worth it, or doesn't chew up airtime like crazy. I've been happy enough with what I've seen so far, that when I want to upgrade to a camera phone (which is what I really really want to do eventually) I'm going to check out what Virgin has to offer before going to anyone else. If I'm this happy with the Party Animal (which is decent, but relatively low-tech) I'm really looking forward to seeing what other models may have in store.
