Summary: Fantastic Phone
Review: A PERFECT phone!

This phone is great! The calls are clear, the games are fun, and the phone is in color. You can choose your own ringtone(All of which sound awesome)and play cool games. The games are like includes Tetris, a version of Blackjack, and much more! (No more of those stupid black and white games)The phone can have screen saver and a background and even make clear calls.

Believe me! This is worth $130!! :)

Review: The Kyocera Slider is the best phone that I have ever gotten in my life. The reception is absolutely wonderful, and I love having a unique phone that looks nothing like anybody elses. The polyphonic ringtones are absolutely terrific, and I love when people stare in amazment when I just slide the face of the phone to answer an incoming call. Everywhere I go, people always say, "Can I see your phone?" And I love it. Please, buy this phone, for you, for your kids, for anybody. For me, it made the best gift I ever got.

Summary: Slider Style
Review: Let's start with the phone. This phone is VERY cool. It is by far the best Virgin Mobile phone. Its got an array of features such as voice activated dialing, color screen, ringtones, speakerphone, scheduler, and voice memos. Great games too! I guess my complaint would probably have to be the small flat buttons. I rarely use them for dialing, but i use them all the time for text messaging. No big. Sometimes I don't feel the vibration, but i check my phone a lot anyway. Everyone at school loves my phone and instantly recognizes my phone from the MTV commercials. One thing that is good and bad is the lack of a keypad lock. When u close the phone, the phone is locked. I like this feature, but i also wish i could acess the menu with the phone closed. I do like that when you are receiving a call, u can set ur phone to answer the call when u open it and end the call when u close. Lets talk about the service. Virgin mobile is great in every exept exept talking. No N&W minutes and anytime minutes can be expensive. The Sprint network is the least reliable network of the major networks (verizon, cingular, tmobile, sprint, att) But text messages are great because incoming ones are free. I love the *MTV features. (MTV news/shows/videos) Customer service is great u can email them, call them, or just check out their website. They're a big help!!!

Summary: No hipster here either but...diggin' it.
Review: I bought this phone after my "Vox" bit the dirt four months in. (Don't buy the "Vox". It had great reception but, the front LCD burned out.) The "Slider", so far and with better reception in my area, is one of the best phones I've ever had! I spent some time reading the manual and then picked up the phone...I shouldn't have wasted my time with the manual! This phone's menus are completely intuitive! I don't really use the MTV stuff but, the ringtones available are GRRRREEEAAATTT!!!! So far I have the A-Team theme, the theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark and "House of Fun" by Madness. (Got to find some Earth, Wind and Fire or Stevie Wonder.) You can also get various personalities to do your voicemail greeting. (Batman!) Anyway, the tip calculator has already come in handy and the voice memo function is like having a digital recorder when you really need it. No camera but, I'm a photographer so I have one with me all the time anyway. Don't you?
Oh, today I found out by accident that I have call waiting too! Caller ID with personal ringtones and icons are essential for avoiding the "New Millenium Pop-In".
I've only had this for a few weeks and I'm hoping I don't run into durability issues like the "Vox' but, Kyocera makes Contax cameras (some of the best in the world) so how could I go wrong. But, the major point to all of this is that I bought the replacement plan from Best Buy for the "Vox" and it was well worth it. I had no problems getting my new phone. The only sucky thing is that you will, regardless of the new laws, have to get a new phone number with the Virgin pre-paid service. This is not a viable option for someone needing a hardcore business phone. Bought the plan for this phone too and hope I never have to use it beacause it's a great phone!

Review: After reading the reviews on Amazon, I signed up. I am not a hipster, so I don't use the MTV download features. What I like about it is that it is so easy to use, so easy to access all the features like contacts, text messaging, and all the phone customization features: ring tone, color schemes, volume settings, etc. It also has games and appointments which I haven't yet tried. I want my daughter to get one, too. Why pay $40/month for service you don't use. Pay per call is simple to understand and reasonable. Overall, a great product compared to the competition. And the coverage is great, too.

Summary: Virgin/Sprint coverage very poor.
Review: I currently use AT&T Free2Go and a Nokia 8260 phone. I get 5bars (max) signal strength at home, and 2bars at work. Virgin Mobile's rates are WAY better than AT&T and Virgin is also the only company offering an inexpensive prepaid phone with color and tons of features. I was a little reluctant to buy this phone, because EVERYONE in my area has told me to stay away from Sprint due to terrible coverage. Their coverage map for my area shows service only along major highways! Virgin uses Sprint towers, so if Sprint coverage is bad, so is Virgin. I took the chance, I bought this phone. I wanted it so bad. Unfortunately, all the people telling me to avoid Sprint were absolutely correct. I get ZERO bars signal strength at home although there is a signal. If I extend the antenna, I might get 1 bar. At times, it peaks at 2-bars. At work, I get no service! The phone is constantly "Searching...". This isn't going to work for me, I need to get calls and text messages at the office. For this reason, this awesome little phone is going back.

As for the SE47 (Slider V5) itself, I LOVE the phone. The ringtones, color display, size, blue illumination, features, appearance... there's nothing to dislike. You can play with this phone for hours and keep finding new stuff that it does. I found the buttons to be easy to push, I had no problems at all hitting the buttons and I'm a 5'11" 215lb guy. This phone makes my Nokia 8260 look like junk. I saw on the Kyocera site that there's even a USB data cable available for this phone to sync with your PC. I wish I could have tried that. It greatly saddens me to have to return it. Poor carrier coverage is the only reason I gave it 4-stars. If there was decent coverage and signal strength in my area, it would definitely be a 5-star phone. If you're lucky enough to have good Sprint coverage in your area, BUY THIS PHONE! As for me, I'm stuck with my Nokia until AT&T gets a clue and starts offering cool phones like this, or Sprint builds more towers in my area.

Summary: Great phone - Reasonable price
Review: I will not repeat what other people said about this V5 slider. Yes, it is really incredible cell phone in the market. If there are anything need to be improve, it is the keypad so small and inconvenient. If you have big fingers, it'll make difficult to control the keys. Moreoever, its actual weight is 3.95 oz (included battery), not 3.39 oz as advertised. Althought this is just a small different, I hope the manufacture and advertiser should consider to correct it.
Otherwise, everything is perfect. I heard someone complain about the price is expensive. I don't think so. It is the lowest price for a color screen phone in the market. Think about how hard people designed, created and produced this phone model. Moreover, you have no contract and no monthly fees for Virgin Mobile prepaid service. So the price is reasonable. The closest competitive phone is the Motorola T720 color screen phone, also "pay as you go" by Verizon wireless. That phone costs $250 (Freeup prepaid), but very awful, much worse than this V5 slider about signal reception and battery life.
In general, I'm totally satisfied with this choice of the Kyocera V5 slider phone and Virgin Mobile. I would recommend it for everyone who still thinking about it.

Summary: Got it Free with Delivery,
Review: Got your eye on this phone but don't have or want to spend a dime. Here's a post to those lucky and fortunate enough to live in Canada. Bell is a generous company if you play it right and speak with the right customer service rep. Needless to say after mentioning that I have been a customer of Bell for over a year and was thinking about changing to another wireless provider because of the phones they carried, it set the pace for good things to happen. Request the best most expensive phone then after he/she offers a discount or half price for that one, you take them to your real choice. In this case it was the Kyocera "Slider" SE47. She was more excited about getting it herself that she just did the paper work and sent it off to be shipped to my front door immediately.

Moral of this story:

Verizon, Telus, Rogers AT&T or what have you, never settle for that old clunky or semi-outdated phone if there's a free and better phone out there. Still the SE-47 is worth the cost. For those looking to modify the phone like getting rid of the 1X that stays on the middle of the screen all the time [go online.]
