Review: My wife and I both own the Motorola T721.
We received them free from AT&T Wireless.com.
These phones are terrific!! They use GSM/GPRS service.
I seldom get dropped calls on the T721 using AT&T wireless in my area (Central Florida).This phone has one of the brightest and largest color screens I've seen. Also one of the absolute best features(you can read the screen in sunlite).You can connect to the internet quickly and the download time is fast.The voice dial feature works well also. Note: This is a plastic phone but seems very durable and lite. A good leather case will protect this phone from falls. I've dropped mine several times with no damage.I hope this review was helpfull to future buyers. I researched wireless phones very carefully before choosing this one.This is a quaility Motorola product. CON: This phone can't be set to backlite always on--flip open.
You can only set it for maximum 20 seconds on.

Summary: Pretty Good
Review: I see a lot of people have complained about this phone. I just recently bought the phone on the internet before I read these reviews. I was honestly about to cry because from the reviews, I thought it was going to be the crapiest phone ever. I am extremely glad to say that that is not true. I really like my phone. The reception is pretty decent... the battery life is pretty good too. It is great to show off if youre into that, and the games you can download are amazing and fun. You can play great games like bejewled, frogger, and so much more. The menu could be complicated for some people, but for the technology based world we live in, it should be no problem for most people. Of course this phone is no perfect, but like I said I like it.

Summary: Broke $ Again...
Review: I had a Nokia and loved it... but because I left it out in the rain with no insurance on my phone I had to get a new one. Well, I didn't care for the new Nokia so I descided to take the plunge and get a Motorola. Unfortunately because I didn't have insurance on my NOKIA I had to pay FULL PRICE for a new phone. This was due to the fact that I still had the contract with US Cellular, I paid $262.00 for my T731 in October of 2003 and this time purchased the insurance. Well let me tell ya something about that insurance the cell phone companies sell you... They will pay for the phone if you drop it in a pool, leave it out in the rain, throw it against the wall but if the phone breaks due to normal use it's not covered so BUYER BEWARE>>> ALWAYS READ WHAT YOU SIGN!!! Anyway back to the T731 On March 14, 2004 the phone rang... I flipped it open to say HELLO and the hinge broke on the phone. The piece just cracked off. I don't believe it's very durable as I don't overuse my phone, nor was this phone ever dropped. After looking at other phones after this incident it doesn't appear that Motorola took the "SLIM HINGE" into consideration when constructing the phone. I have contacted Motorola and they are willing to either replace or repair the phone. YIPPEE! Unfortunatly the consumer always has to pay the price for the manufacturers errors. It cost me $10.00 to send the phone to Motorola and if not back within 15 days I will have no phone. I just expected better quality for a phone that cost so much.

Summary: Nightmare purchase
Review: This phone was a huge mistake. Looked cool, never worked. I made the mistake of not having returned it within the 30 day return period. I never got reception from my home and was billed $400 for having calls forwarded to my home number. Now ATT Wireless is trying to make me pay for the early termination
penalty. Yeah, right...

Summary: State of the Art
Review: I got the Motorola T721 from a SunCom affiliate in early May. It works great, the GSM coverage is reliable, 3 to 4 bars most of the time. Stand-by time is 3 to 4 days on the Li-Ion battery. The original battery wouldn't hold a charge, but the local SunCom store replaced it without a fuss. I like the flip-phone design, large color screen, voice-dialing, traditional num-pad, and sleek styling.

Review: Maybe I've been spoiled by having 3 previous Nokia's that never had any problems? I don't know, maybe I'm being too hard on this phone that:
1) drops a call at least once a week and the screen goes blank
2) signal goes to "emergency only" all of a sudden in a 2 or more bar signal area
3) doesn't hang up when i push the (red) hang up button or doesn't answer the call when i push the (green) answer button -- happens about once every two weeksHowever, there are some good points to this phone:
1) it's pretty!
2) it's sleek!
3) it's light! I gave this phone 2 stars because at least it works most of the time. I just wanted a low price flip phone and this was it at the time. I wish Nokia had flip phones!!! I would switch in a heartbeat. Oh yeah, and don't even get me started on my AT&T service, after switching from Cingular....when I called AT&T about my T721, they gave me some crap about how I shouldn't leave my phone on continuously and that I need to turn my phone on and off every day to give my phone number priority in their database, or something stupid like that. And if you want to use AT&T's phone warranty service, they make you pay $25 not including the shipping you pay to send them your phone! All around not a happy camper with the T721 & AT&T

They have tons of tones for the Moto phones, and with the coupon it's only $9/year. Cheaper than mMode, and much better selection. Thanks, whomever posted this before!

Summary: Don't Do It!
Review: On a daily basis I want to throw this phone out the window. It makes me miss my 1998 Nokia Brick-sized phone. It drops pretty much every call I make. It randomly shuts off for about 30 seconds and then magically comes back on with a "no service" message. I can be standing in one place and the signal will range from full, to half, to none, to "emergency only" and back up to full signal within 15 seconds. I have at&t, but know other people who have the same phone for other carriers and hate it as well. This is definitely one of the worst purchases I've ever made.

Summary: Solid, Basic, NextGen Phone
Review: I was looking for a phone, first and foremost. Not a camera-phone, or game console-phone or even a pda-phone. If you want a reliable, tech-savvy, GSM wireless flip-phone with a few extra frills then the T721 will most likely do the trick. Big color screen; long battery life; very lightweight; customizable (within reason) inside and out; voice dialing/voice command; SMS messenging; phonebook w/500 entries; and Java support for downloads. If you need more than that, look elsewhere but be ready to pony up some cash for the extras. Also, I've never had any technical problems or glithces with this phone. It has worked flawlessly for me since the day I switched my sim card over.

Summary: Class Action Now. The phone is a rip-off!
Review: I was assured by AT&T that the phone T721 was superb in Dec 03, and had it exchanged in March 04. I would have earlier, but I thought I did something wrong. THE PHONE SUCKS! It drops calls and shuts off in the middle of calls, reception and volume poor and at the end of the month you have to pay for this frustration. I have complained so much I have a headache with their usual response, " whal shend dru onoder wone ". The voice of some low wage foreigner. Motorolla and AT&T knows very well that the phones are no good and continue to sell these model phones on the market, deceiving consumers and taking our money. THIS MUST STOP. (...)
