Summary: AWFUL
Review: As a nextel customer for a year I can assure you that I've NEVER had a good experience dealing with them. Their service area is probably the worst I've had (verizon and cingular are both much better). Their customer service is about as useful as a punch in the face and their calling plans are extremely overpriced. Due yourself a favor and go with another carrier, it's a shame because motorola makes a good phone however using nextel as your carrier you might as well be using tin cans with string.

Summary: Best Phone I've Ever Had
Review: First of all this is my third cell phone. Previous to this I had a Nokia 3360 and a Motorola i90c. I will never buy another phone that isn't Motorola and they do it again with the i830.

PROS:
-Sharp, small, lightweight, sturdy design
-Real metal faceplates
-Big, bright, easy-to-read, color display
-Better service than i90c
-Useful applications and games (plus GPS)
-Comes with belt-clip/holster that the phone clips into backwards so you don't scratch the outside display
-Good speakerphone
-Improved power cord connector with dust cover
-Multiple numbers per name all with individual ringtones

CONS:
-Faceplates seem to show scratches (but very cheap replacements on Nextel.com)
-Earpiece a little too quiet
-Buttons can be a little stiff and hard to press
-Battery life could be a bit longer but not bad at all (charge lasts 2-3 days with normal use in overall good service area, 1-1.5 days in mostly no service areas)
-Ant. is hard to pull out.

Overall the good definately outweighs the bad. If you're going to go with Nextel get this phone! Oh yeah, silver looks better than bronze.

Summary: Best Nextel Phone To Date
Review: Have had the phone for over a week now. Great call quality, great reception (Dallas area), address book is second to none, LOUD ring tone, great portability. I've always stayed away from Nextel due to the bulky size of their phones. No more.

My last phone was a Motorola V60 from Verizon. The phone is similar in size to the V60, although slightly slimmer. The only negative comment about the phone is that the battery life is very short. If you are a power user, you should always have a charger nearby or at least have a second battery around. For most users, the battery should last a couple days though. With my V60 I was only charging the battery about twice a week. With this Nextel I need to charge it every 1-2 days. The only thing missing on the phone that I wish it had is Bluetooth. Other than that, the phone is perfect for me.

I switched from Verizon after being happy with Verizon for the past 3 years because I recently moved to Texas and I found the Verizon phone was going into the Extended Area Network at and around my work place. Reception was also spotty in the work area although everyplace else was great. I was able to get the phone at a heavily discounted price from a Nextel store (cheaper than what Amazon was selling it for even after rebate and NO I do not have ANY affiliation with Nextel other than being a customer). Also got 1000 anytime minutes for $55, unlimited long distance, unlimited direct connect. With Verizon I was getting 400 anytime minutes for $40. Overall, VERY happy I made the switch.

Review: I am considering getting this phone but I have just one question: does it have external caller id?

Summary: Good Phone
Review: I liked this phone it seems to be tough and stylish. But had ordered it off of Nextels site. They even gave me a code that saved me $50.00. Here it is for you all to share (CL897L) case sensitive. On the shopping cart page in the promo box. It is like an invoice thing. But I think it is a very good phone. You will enjoy the phone. Happy shopping.

Summary: Not worth it
Review: I purchased this phone around late July of this year. Although the phone is very sleek and stylish, the battery life and reception on are the worse. I have had so many problems with this phone when placing calls and using Nextel's Direct Connect service that it is not even funny. In addition, the phone is always redialing, especially during off-peak hours. Although Nextel is most popular for their Direct Connect Service and Free Incoming price plans, they are also known for their poor reception. Truth be told, if you go Nextel, buy one of their older model cellphones such as the i95, i90, or i88. A large number of my friends have those models and they never had any trouble out of them. Before this phone, I had both the i530 and i730 in less than a year, and they were a mess as well.

Summary: The best for Nextel users
Review: I rate this phone the best for a Nextel user due to it's slim size. I've had mine about a month and am really enjoying not having to strap a phone the size of a brick to my hip.

This phone is essentially a 730 slimmed down. It seems the space savings was achieved with a slimmer battery - because mine does need recharging about once per day.

I've used the 1000,85,95,73 and now this phone. I prefer a slimmer design over battery life. If you don't mind returning to a charger every so often you'll probably like it. If you are away from a power source and on the phone for a while you will need a spare battery or two.

Summary: The Tiny i730
Review: I recently purchsed this phone. At first, I was hesitant because I thought it was entirely too expensive. Basically, it is an i730 in a smaller package, but I have noticed this phone has just slightly better reception. What I despise most about this phone is its battery life. I place the thing on the charger every night before i got to sleep. The size is perfect because it does not feel like I am carrying a gun on my belt holster. Overall, I believe it is a good phone, but I do not recommend paying some outrageous price to have one.
