Rating: Summary: Fantastic all-around phone Review: With Bluetooth, a great screen, decent camera and snappy resposne, this is a perfect phone for just about anyone. You don't have a touch screen but that also means that the screen is more durable. It took me a little while to get used to the keypad but even that didn't take long (I generally don't dial by numbers much any more - the contacts list or voice dialing works fine). On the Bluetooth side, I use my Sony-Ericsson HBH-60 wireless headset and it works great. I've also used this phone to do wireless Internet access through both my iPaq 1945 Pocket PC and my notebook PC. Transfer speed on T-Mobile seems about equal to dial-up speed. Big thumbs up and you can't beat the price!
Rating: Summary: Good Phone, but weak ring & speaker!!! Review: I recently purchsed this phone and the truth is i can barely hear the ring tone. I have missed several important calls because of this. I have increased the volume to max, still of no use. The speaker also has got very low volumne. Camera feature is good but the pic comes out pretty dull.
Rating: Summary: quite happy Review: I've had this phone for ten days and can't seem to stop playing with it. One pleasant surprise I found is that T-Mobile provides free web/wap browsing and pop3 email access through phones that can use it (no minutes used, no per meg charges). They don't advertise it, but it is well documented on various forums (such as howardforums.com and fatwallet.com) and my account details on the T-Mobile website list "Included WAP Browsing: Active". You can also load a lot of applications on it, and sync your Outlook contacts and calendar. To do this, bluetooth is the way to go. All you need is a bluetooth adapter for your computer, and the Nokia PC Suite (free download from Nokia website). Don't buy the Actiontec USB bluetooth adapter (check the recent reviews for that product, detailing driver installation problems). The phone is larger than what passes for fashionable these days, but that doesn't bother me. It fits well in your hand and has lots of features. It can double as a small PDA. I don't think it would be as functional if it were just a little flip-phone. The button layout looks weird, but it makes it easier for typing email addresses and other website URLs. The camera is surprisingly good for a cell phone camera. Using the included email access, you can take pictures and email them to your friends at no cost. If you send the pics as MMS messages, there is a charge, but sending pics via email is free. It can even shoot video clips! You can also do online instant messaging (not SMS text messages) for free. There are many applications you can use for this. Agile Messenger is the one I use. It's a free download, and supports AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, and MSN. Apparently it must be using port 80 (see below). The only limitation on the free WAP browsing is that only ports 80 and the two ports used for email are open. Everything else is blocked. This means that you can't access SSL pages (where you see a locked lock on your browser's status bar). For example, you won't be able to log in to your bank, or buy things from Amazon using the free WAP access. It can be done, but the cost for that capability is an extra $19/month. I am very happy with this phone so far, and I think T-Mobile offers very good plans. I chose the 1000 minutes national plan ($40), but I may have to switch to the 3000 minutes regional plan ($50) if I use it too much. Great gadget.
Rating: Summary: A good phone with great features Review: I got this phone at the last minute the day before I left on a trip to Europe. I took it with me and was very pleased with the performance. The camera is so easy to use that I was taking pictures more with my phone than with my regular camera. Additionally, I was able to email the pics back home with ease, which came in very handy. The internet access allowed me to keep up to date with headlines and news back at home with just touch of a button. The battery life was excellent and the reception in various parts of France and the UK was surprisingly good. I have also been pleased with the phone in the US. Its reception has been as good as or better than my other Nokia phones and the internet access and features make it well worth the price.
Rating: Summary: Ok Phone, Bad Service Review: Overall the phone is okay and probably a three star phone. It takes awhile to get use to the circular dial. If you are a Sprint user, forget about the four digit dial. Also, the phone freezes if you press the buttons too fast. The most disappointing aspect is the poor coverage with TMobile phones. I purchased the phone because it was the best deal out there in terms of phone cost and number of minutes included in the plan. I signed a one year agreement and purchased through Amazon. i had no problems getting my rebate or activation of the phone. With routine travel to DC, San Diego, Denver and Orlando the coverage is extremely sporadic and sound quality is very poor. It seems like TMobile is basically in the process of buying business to justify improvements to their network. I will be switching to Verizon the day my contract expires. I discourage users from signing up with TMobile.
Rating: Summary: Top 5 electronic things I have ever had Review: This phone is definitely one of the coolest elect. things I ever had(being student I have many). I have this phone for 4 months now and I am fully satisfied. I tried to use every feature and its thoughtful design (software/hardware) still amazes me. Turn on its blue tooth, and blue jack ppl. They will be amazed that who sent them that special message/picture. Needless to mention that its camera can be used as the best flattering device. Solution for 'not very hi tech ppl' for not so loud ringer is 'desk phone lo'. As to getting that so-called amazon rebate... well I GOT it, finally... after 4 months. Though I guess this rebate system could have been better/faster.
Rating: Summary: with all that I know, I would not do it again Review: I got this phone when it first came out. I was extremely happy with it. The games were great and the screen was the best I had ever seen. One month passes by, my phone will no longer turn on. It took Nokia six weeks to fix the phone. It was gone longer than I had it. All was well again and now I was on a trip. In the middle of the mountain terrain my screen starts fading. All of the sudden it starting turning on and off, over and over again. Now I have to call Nokia and send it in again. I am fixing to switch back to trustworthy Samsung. Unless you are getting it absolutely free don't waste your time or money.
Rating: Summary: Its my lifeline Review: I've had this phone for 6 months and it never ceases to amaze me. I have a Hawking bluetooth dongle which enables communication between the phone and PC. There are endless software resources for the Symbian OS loaded into the phone. Some of my personal favorites are Bemused (controls Winamp MP3 player via bluetooth) TimeTracker (keeps track of all your minutes and is completely programmable) Digital Red Bowling, and ridiculous amount of other 3rd party software. This phone is more popular in Europe as I understand and there are a whole bunch of companies specializing in developing software for the 3650/7650 there. There is a really supportive discussion board that deals primarily with the 3650 at www.nokiafree.org...Another good thing about this phone is you can get really into the software and advanced features or simply use it for its primary purpose- to talk. Therefore this phone is very versatile and will satisfy hardcore techies and soccer moms alike. I had a problem with the ringer a few months ago (the external speaker got blown out) and T-Mobile customer service was superb. I went to my local T-Mobile store, showed them the problem and they sent me a new one and it arrived in 3 days. It was very hassle-free experience. As a highly technical, detail-oriented, technologically aware person, I highly recommend this phone. Though admittedly, I do wish it was a bit smaller. But I am getting the Jabra FreeSpeak headset this week which will make handling the actual phone obsolete. I can't wait. Also the only really audible ring I found in Nokia's preloaded tones is 'Desk Phone Lo.' But the ability to load MP3's and MIDI files as ringtones is pretty sweet but needs to be louder (the latter is usually louder). In conclusion, get this phone and you'll be instantly cooler.
Rating: Summary: mobile lover Review: i like because it has every thing in it affter bying this their is nothing to by any thing more
Rating: Summary: It does what is says it's going to do. Review: I got this phone in October and it's been great so far. All of the features work. It is bigger than other phones but it is soooo fun to play with when you have some extra time on your hands. I've really appreciated it while standing in long shopping lines. I think you can get the most from this phone only if you sign up for internet access through your service provider. The icing on the cake is the fact that it's free with Amazon and T-Mobile rebates.
