Rating: Summary: My Wife Took My Nokia 3650! Review: My wife liked my Nokia 3650 so much that she switched chips with me and is carrying it.My favorite features: 1. Speaker Phone. Nice when driving or multitasking. Good audible range. I slip it in my shirt pocket and speak into the air. Works great! 2. Display is very good for its size. The camera takes 640 x 480 color images. I bought a 32 meg card to increase storage. I recently used the phone as my principle camera on vacation to the Smokies. Worked great. 3. Contacts is a nice feature that can pull your chip's phone numbers and store them. Just add email addresses and you can send the camera pics to any email via the multimedia option. Disadvantages: The blue lighted round keyboard. In low light it is hard to see. This can be a problem when text-messaging or adding contact details. I'm buying a 2nd phone which will be another Nokia 3650. (...) :)
Rating: Summary: Get the phone, try a different service Review: I am located in downtown Chicago, and the T-Mobile service there is terrible. If you need to reach people or be reached without interruption, do not get this service. I have been outdoors on Michigan Avenue and gotten "No Service" on my phone. I live in Lakeview, and I have had calls dropped every five minutes or so, along with constant "No Service" or "Network Busy" messages. This is even outdoors, where there is no excuse for bad coverage. When I called their customer service, the T-Mobile rep said to me: "Currently, we are having trouble with 13 of our towers in Chicago. It took us a year to get going reliably in New York when we started there, and we have only been in Chicago for six months." The smart money says, don't make the mistake I did--wait six months and check T-Mobile's record then. From talking with associates at work and friends, the other major players--Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T--work fine now in Chicago. Go with one of them until this second rate operation rights itself.
Rating: Summary: Functional phone - limited ability to connect with Palm Review: What drew me to this phone was Nokia's claim that it connects via Bluetooth or IR with Palm devices, where I keep my contacts and calander. Unfortunatly, after I purchased the phone and a bluetooth USB device (Nokia support said customers who brought Belkin and D-link USB devise were having success connecting with the phone). I found that while the software takes the my palm address book and calender it is unable to put it on my phone. Nokia support (which seemed pretty good) said they have found out it only works with actual Palm devices not with the Handspring version of the software I have nor any other versions like Sony. As a cell phone it works fine and has some great features. I did not get it for the pictures, but have found my kids love that feature and keeps them entertained. As for durability, it has stood up to their handling. Suggestions: If you want to connect with your PC via palm, lotus, or outlook call Nokia support and ask what bluetooth or IR devices are users not having trouble with. The situation may have changed by the time you read this review. Also ask what types of problems users are reporting in connecting thier calender and address lists (in addition to palm it clams to take notes, organizer, and outlook data). In hindsite I should have spent the extra money on the Handspring treo like my wife - who has had no problems.
Rating: Summary: Great features Review: Like any other new gadget, you have to learn how to get around using the keypad. After that it is a pleasure to use. I am a user of AOL online service, and was disappointed at how much I had to dig and search to learn how to set up the phone to use with AOL. The instructions were not clear, (at least for me). I had to call T-mobile, AOL, and search both web sites to finally understand how to set up the phone. (Boo, Hiss!) Maybe NOKIA and T-MOBILE should include a supplement to their printed instructions. Other than that, with ... rebates I recommend this phone and service.
Rating: Summary: Fastchat (PTT) + Nokia 3650 = International Walkie Talkie Review: This phone is a Symbian OS based phone which is compatible with this new push-to-talk app., called Fastchat. My friend and I bought this phone to try out Fastchat (Fastchat was offering free trials). BTW, Nokia 3650 is one of the few Fastchat compatible phones that are out in the market. I downloaded fastchat on this phone and now I send walkie-talkie messages to my friends in UK and France for free (US is covered too) every day. No minute usage or expensive internationall calling. I even send picture and video clips to my MSN Messenger buddies and chat from my phone. If Fastchat is loaded on Nokia 3650, it will become a really COOL international walkie-talkie and mobile Instant Messenger.
Rating: Summary: Nice features, but it's a phone first... Review: I'm shocked that one of the biggest cell phone companies would fall into such a horrible design trap. In their effort to make this phone look "cool," they placed the buttons in a circle around the center of the phone. How many people are used to dialing with such a keypad? It's not prohibitively difficult, but it's enough of a hastle to simply go with a comparable phone with a normal keypad. Nokia should remember that the 3650 is a phone first. Unfortunately, in this case, they sacrificed usability for appearance.
Rating: Summary: With lots of features Review: I just bought this phone in Amazon.com for free after mail-in rebates. This phone has lots of cool features. I uploaded my 120 contacts from outlook(PC) to phone without any hassle using the IR port. It worked very well. The camera feature is very exciting. It has 640x480 resolution. Transfering images to PC is real easy using IR port. But it is little slow. I didn't find a way to increase the IR speed. But, still it is lots of fun to use the camera. In built video recorder is real cook but you can take only 10-15 sec of video upto max of 93KB. Another roomy feature is it comes up with 3.4MB phone memory + an extra 16MB memory card. This can be upgraded to any higher memory card. This phone also has tribands. GPRS feature which can be used to browse the internet. The round keypad is not at all a problem. I got used to it in 1 day. Don't worry about the keypad. The weight (4.2OZ) is also not a problem. Overall I really liked this phone. Had lots of fun...
Rating: Summary: wow... Review: The only thing this phone doesn't have is a full sized keyboard. And you need a well-padded case - but they're available via the internet. Who knew you could have this much fun with a phone?!
Rating: Summary: Great Phone - Can't beat FREE! Review: Works great. You need to download software from nokiausa.com. Synchronizes with Outlook (a few issues there!!) using the infrared port on your computer. The phone can be used as a modem (again using infrared). Modem works flawlessly with AOL - great speed too (can't compare with DSL/Cable, of course - mostly slower than regular dialup too but absolutely great when you are traveling). Have not tried the Bluetooth. POSITIVES * Modem * Speakerphone * Outlook Sync NEGATIVES * Software CD not included * PC Software has bugs
Rating: Summary: All-in-one Review: This cell phone is an indication of things to come in future..An all purpose device, it has utilities which i never thought would be there...it can be used to store mp3, take and store digital pics, video..other features like currency converter, memo, music composer, games adds value Though the size is a problem, i think the features more than compensates for it...but if your main criteria is size, this phone definitely is not for you...Also be sure to buy a case.
