Summary: What's happening to Manufacturer Standards?
Review: First, I want to say this phone has the potential, style and features to be a 5! It's beautiful. However, I just sent it back (and I mean the whole package because I AM NOT accepting a refurbished replacement from T-Mobile after only having it 3 days - argued the ridiculous policy!!!), because there's a strange bug going on where I set the ringtone and it will randomly lower itself to be inaudible. This is among 1 out of 2 software bugs I found. The first was fixed when I called nokia to reformat the OS.

So we'll see what happens when I get my next one back after explaining the whole thing to yet another T-mobile rep so he can send my a NEW one back. It gets a 3 for not working right the first time and me wasting hours to fix it once and then more with T-mobile reps telling me different stories and not understanding it was a software issue.

Summary: Good phone, but buggy
Review: I'm on my third Nokia 3650 now... the first two broke the same way, the phone turns itself off and upon restarting it the "Nokia" logo flashes and slowly fades out three times and the phone turns back off. This is actually very well documented around the internet (see nokia3650.net) and Nokia's not much of a help. There's no way to boot the phone when this happens, leaving you essentially stranded. T-Mobile is very nice about quick replacements, but for people whose cell phone is their only phone, this is a major inconvenience.

On the upside, the phone (when it works) really is very cool. The camera takes half-decent pictures, the signal is very strong, the sound is great, the screen is bright and readable even outdoors, and the expandable memory is extremely convenient. The thing is definately on the large size, but I was willing to put up with that when I thought it was reliable. In general, I find the phone crashes fairly often (all 3 of them) and even randomly turns itself off from time to time (also documented). I never had trouble adapting to the round keypad, but your mileage may vary. Symbian may not be the most stable thing, but it's very fast, powerful, and user-friendly. The thing is also built like a tank, I've dropped it several times from reasonably frightening heights and it just bounces and keeps working.

Downsides to this phone, besides the fact that it is buggy: The ringer volume stinks. I've tried every trick out there, boosting the MIDIs, using WAVs (sound awful), and it still doesn't kick out enough sound to make it audible. Keep it on vibrate, except that the vibrate is so loud that it's the "BZZZZZ!!" sound that always gets my attention first.

I don't know what I'm going to do, as I'm a little wary of being out of a phone again. I'm test driving the T610, and if it can keep a decent signal the places I need it to, I may just settle for the smaller, hopefully more reliable, phone, even if its camera does stink.

Summary: Still can't synch via Bluetooth to PC
Review: I am on my third bluetooth adapter, trying to synch my PC with my Nokia 3650. First I got a Hawking Bluetooth Adapter, but Nokia said they don't support that. The tech rep told me they support Belkin and Socket. Since Belkin was the cheaper and smaller, using USB, I bought that. It didn't work and Nokia's tech said, "we don't support Belkin" !!! ERRG. So I got the Socket. It doesn't work. Nokia tells me the problem is with Socket. I call Socket, wait for 3 hours on hold and never get through. I send an email. No response. I leave a voice mail. No response. I'm wishing I didn't buy this phone.

To top it off, Amazon.com denied my $200 refund claiming I didn't send it in on time (I did) Since I can't find the post office receipt, I can't proove it. MAKE SURE YOU SEND YOUR REBATE FORM IN REGISTERED MAIL AND KEEP THE RECEIPT!! Otherwise, AMazon.com may rip you off for the $200. Live and learn.

Summary: So full of problems and bugs!
Review: So far I have been very disappointed in this phone. Basically, it has corrupted it's own memory (I had to restore from SD memory), cannot seem to sync up the Time and locks up more than a few times a week.

Using bluetooth is a real hassle since it locks up 3 out of 4 times when I use it. The sound quality is fairly awful also.. but I'm not sure if T-Mobile is to blame or if the phone is just really bad. I'm willing to bet it's the phone.

All in all, it has so many cool features but half of the time it doesn't seem to work. So, unless I just got a junk phone.. this Nokia is not really impressing me much.

Oh, one last thing.. it actually interferes with Cordless phones (yes.. not just using bluetooth! I have been asked not to use my cellphone by Cordless phone users because it causes major static disruption)

Sorry to be so negative. It sure seemed like it was going to be a great phone. I guess I'm stuck with it.. so I'll just try to deal with all the problems. :)

Summary: Nokia 3650
Review: Very disappointed because this phone is way too quiet, almost inaudible in all but one of its many ring tones. Sound clarity and range are good, but battery life is poor, about 2 days max. If the ring tones could be heard I would rate this phone a lot higher. It is also very spendy! Too bad a normally well made product came out without checking to find out if it can be heard.
Shame on you NOKIA!

Summary: The only thing it doesnt do is the laundry
Review: The Nokia 3650 can be described with one word: WOW! This phone is one the best phones on the market to date, with it's built in camera, video recorder, and bluetooth. I use most of its features on a daily baisis, such as the converter. The converter converts pretty much any unit to any unit such as kilometers to miles. It has a composer as well, just like my old Nokia 3390 did. It composes ringtones in monophonic, but it's still cool. If you're a businessman, and have a hard time associating people's names to their faces, you can easily take a picture of them and embed it into their contact information, so anytime they call, or you scroll through the address book, you see their face. T-mobile's service is good. I live in the Bay Area, and I barely have any dead zones. I had Sprint PCS before, and T-mobile is far beter. The phone is GSM, which was useful on my trip to Israel, because I got to use it there.

All in all, this phone can easily compete with Sony Ericsson's P800. The P800, might have a steeper price tag, but for this price (free after rebates), the 3650 is a wise choice for anyone looking for a VERY nice phone

Summary: Security Concerns
Review: My only concern in ordering phones from Amazon.com is that last I checked, they want to know your DOB, and Social Security number on behalf of the carriers.

Amazon has no business in collecting this information. The carriers have been doing this for years. Anytime you buy a phone from them they collect that information anyway. Although according to govt. agencies even they have no business collecting your SS#.

Providing credit card number over a SSL connection is ok and I do that all the time on amazon.com. But providing DOB, SS# to amazon.com (even if its using SSL) will make your vital information live on one more database i.e Amazon's database which is ridiculous and not acceptable. So amazon doesn't get my business for the phones.

Summary: Nice Looking Phone But ...
Review: This phone is HUGE compares to most of the regular phones these days. I bought the phone for its Bluetooth and Internet access capability. The Bluetooth connection works well with generic Bluetooth connectors but not its Infra-red. I had very quickly given up on the Internet access since I could not even connect to it most of the time and when I could, it's slow. However, the emaill access and synchroniztion to Microsoft Outlook works wonderfully as long as I could access the Internet. I have complaints that I sound soft through the phone. It is also annoying that I'll get a text message whenever I get a voice mail. So, you have to delete the message AND the voice mail separately.

The ring tone is soft and so, I usually miss my calls. The battery does last for a significant time between charges, at least when it is currently new.

Summary: Can you say: "BRICK" ???
Review: When I first saw the Nokia 3650, I thought that this was the answer to all of my prayers for a phone with all of the bells and whistles available. Nice big color screen, camera, GSM, speakerphone, etc. And it was, except for one HUGE (punn intended) drawback: This thing is absolutely painfully large and heavy. Size wise, this thing takes me back to circa 1990 when phones were big, bulky, and you had to carry them around in their own briefcase. Sure it's got some nice features (like I really need a video camera on my phone that takes poor quality 15 second clips of choppy video!!! Sign me up!). But give me a break, do I really need ALL of these things on a cell phone and if so, does it have to be the same size and weight as a brick (it's even bigger than my land line 900 mhz cordless telephone!!!). Am I really supposed to be keeping this thing in my pocket? I think I'll hire a guy just to tag along with me everywhere I go, carrying my phone for me. If I used this phone daily, I'd have to switch arms every day just to make sure my arm muscles grew larger at the same rate!! And to tell you the truth, I have seen this phone side by side with the Sony Ericsson 610 and the screen size is almost identical (Nokia takes up 25% of the top of the screen with it's logo and a clock!), they are the same with respect to clarity (despite what other people have said on here), and the cameras on each takes almost the same exact quality photos (indistinguishable on the screens of both phones - not sure about if they're emailed). The Sony Ericsson 610 is smaller, sleeker, lighter, pleasing to the eyes, has just as many (if not more) useful features, and quite honestly is an all around better phone. Don't even get me started with the absurd layout of the dial pad on the Nokia 3650 (I think a monkey designed it). Can you say "UGLY!"? Hey Nokia, I'm sticking with the Sony Ericsson 610 - you can keep your electronic brick with the pretty screen. Now, pass the bananas!

Review: When I first decided to purchase this cell phone it was for it's style,I have never seen a phone anything like this in my life. I feel in love with it. Now that I have the phone and use it on a daily basis, I am even more in love with it. The menu's are so easy to understand, the screen and the color is just wonderful. For anyone looking to buy a new phone check this one out, I have a feeling you will be happy with it.
