Rating: Summary: Poor value, mediocre product Review: I bought this on impulse at a major department store just after Xmas, marked down allegedly 50%. Turns out the sale price was still a couple of dollars more than Amazon's regular price. I can't say I'm sorry I bought it, since my needs are pretty minimal, though for another 20 or 30 dollars, I could have gotten a player with much better features.
Contrary to another reviewer, I find that the sound quality is quite good (for an inexpensive player). Unfortunately, the manual is written in the stereotypical bad Chinese-to-English translation, and it neglects to include any instructions at all for connecting the speakers. The ends of the speaker wires are bare wire with no plugs, so you can't tell which wire in each pair is positive and which is negative. I seem to recall from hooking up an old stereo that the wire with the stripe is positive, so that's how I hooked up the speakers for this unit. If the sound quality is poor for you, you might try checking how the speakers are connected.
The radio/CD selection is controled only by a switch on the top of the unit, not on the remote. So, if the switch is set to radio, the remote can only turn on or off the device. If the switch is set to CD, then the remote allows full control of the CD player. I find it annoying that I can't use the remote to switch between CD and radio or to tune the radio. If I had known that before I bought the unit, I wouldn't have bought it. I don't use it enough that it's a big problem.
Unless you can't afford more than this, I'd suggest spending an additional 30 dollars, which will get you a machine that can hold up to 3 CDs and a remote that controls all the functions of the unit.
Rating: Summary: audiophile Review: I have never had a good COBY brand radio. Even pocket radios from COBY are only fair at best. I ordered an AM/FM pocket radio, by COBY one time; and when it arrived; I had to adjust the tuning(on the inside of the radio)just to pull in all the AM/FM stations in my area. Some stations came it poorly, especially AM; but also some FM stations were hard to pull in. Don't buy it.
Rating: Summary: Coby Micro CD Home Stereo System with Am/FM Tuner - CX-CD375 Review: I love this wonderful CD Player. It is the best compact CD Player I have ever owned. One of the best features is the black light when you turn it on. I would recomend this to anyone.<br />P.S. you can hang this on the wall to including the speackers.
Rating: Summary: Nice look, poor quality Review: It appears more effort was put into creating the look of this system than into making it sound good. The sound quality is no better than an alarm clock. The remote controller controls so few functions that it is impractical. Digital tuning is nice but w/o presets it's not very user friendly.
Rating: Summary: Good for the price Review: The good: -Desing -Great Sound -CheapThe Bad: -The radio stations don't change with the remote -The plastic structure it's soft but bad quality. The buttons are too bad in comparison at the product style. -Elevated temprature in the down side when the cd plays ----------------------Spanish-------------------------- Lo bueno: -Diseño moderno -Muy buen sonido -Barato Lo malo: -No se pueden sintonizar radios con el control remoto. IMPORTANTE: EL EQUIPO FUNCIONA TANTO EN 220 y 110 VOLTS. SOLO DEBEN MOVER EL BOTON SELECCIONADOR DE CORRIENTE EN LA PARTE INFERIOR DEL EQUIPO. SALUDOS PARA TODA LA GENTE DE HABLA HISPANA
Rating: Summary: Dont be fooled Review: This product looked cool, but it is just cheap made too fool customers with its smooth looks and great reduced price. They sound is horrendous, with a loud undercurrent of statick. Dont be fooled by the price and cool exterior.
