Rating: Summary: Can you see me now??? ... Good. Can you see me now??? ... Review: Nice phone. Instruction guide not tested by Sony-Ericsson before ...with a "dummy" user. Took a while for me to get started. And, I am no "dummy". Anyway, I got the hang of it. Now, I'm glad for the ICON menu -- ease to navigate through features. Nice if the accessories were included. Cannot wait to send some pictures. From the discription, its nice. Only thing that worries me is (1) chasing after the rebate. (2) introductory rates ... increase after 12 mo. So, this may get to be an expensive phone. Oh boy.
Rating: Summary: unsatisfied Review: I used to own a nokia 3650. That phone was great.. Had all of the toys and more. That phone was stolen. Now I have purchased the Ericsson T610. I am very unhappy with it. When I bought this, i was looking for all of the pluses like a camera, and bluetooth, infrared, etc. I was very disappointed going from my nokia. In comparison, the resolution on this screen is horrible, the screen is small, and the camera takes lousy pictures, and the battery isnt as long as expected, expecially when bluetooth is enabled. Overall, if you are looking for a toy, get something else. I highly recommend the nokia 3650. If you just need a phone to be a phone, get one of the freebies... I wouldnt recommend this phone though. Also the charger is horrible. It feels like it isnt in, and after using it about a week, its incredibly loose and loses the connection if you set it down the wrong direction.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: Great phone! Why? Because... 1. BT...got Jabra headset - wireless is so much better! 2. beauty of a screen...really! 3. Irda...I have a Sony NX70 Clie and can beam addresses, pictures etc to it, even calendar appointments. 4. tiny. 5. it has a quality feel to it, not the cheap plastic feel. 6. quick access button for internet. 7. battery life- can go 2-3 days w/o recharge. 8. personalize it like you wish/pics/themes. 9. sound quality is very good. 10. if you need it, it has a voice recorder, notes etc. Misses: poor camera pic quality; charge plug has to be pulled out/feels like it will break one day. Overall, excellent.
Rating: Summary: Love my T610! Review: A great phone with great features. I bought a Bluetooth USB adapter for my computer and now transferring files to and from the phone and synchronizing the contacts is really fast and easy. Its amazingly small and light for all the goodies that it packs. Highly recommended. I only wish that it allowed storage of street addresses along with the telephone numbers.
Rating: Summary: Ok phone. More like a candy box than a buziness tool Review: Got one from amazon. Nice promotion, no cost. Received it yesterday, returned it today. I have AT&T wirelessin SF Bay Area with an older Nokia 6100 phone. It was getting bad signal near my work location (Sunnyvale, CA), so I decided to take the plunge and switch to T-Mobile Impressions on the phone 1)It is tiny! Still big enough to hold it in your hand (I have small hands) 2)It is more plain-looking than 68i. The screen is nice. But it had greasy spots right off the bat 3)I found the charging process confusing. When fully charged, it still says 'charging...', but the battery stops blinking. I test software for a living, and this counts as a USABILITY BUG: MISLEADING BEHAVIOR:) I thought it was still not charged fully after I left it plugged in overnight 4)The tiny plug of the charger connects to the bottom of the phone. You need to kinda tear it away when done. This does not feel right and will result in damaged plug after some time 5)The battery sits inside the phone under a sliding lid. I found the lid hard to open 6) You have to press a tiny button in pretty deep to turn the phone on and off. I used my fingernail. A paper clip would be more appropriate. The dial keys are also tiny and it is easy to misdial 7) The manual is very primitive and does not cover product features So I have charged the phone, inserted the smart card, turned it on and... Nothing! After a while it did signal me that it received a couple of text messages with phone number, etc. NO INDICATION that it was initializing the serive... Then I tried to place a call... It flashed Connecting and then nothing! Then I realized I am getting NO SIGNAL. The row of tiny dots at the top of the screen are actually a signal strength indicator (go look for it in the manual). So it got no signal at my house. I went outside and -- no signal again. Now, my AT&T phone gets full 4 bars in the same location (Campbell, CA). I talked to T-Mobile tech support, and they called me. I heard the ring but we could not really talk, signal too weak. I guess the anthenna in this Ericsson is tiny, probably 1/3 of my old Nokia's. I have moved to work location and could get 3 bars outside of the building, and place calls. There is a distinct hissing noise. Inside the building I got 1 bar. Same as AT&T So my question is: who needs all of this? Do you really want a phone with WAP and Bluetooth and games? Can't you play games and surf the web on your PC? And do you really need it to be tiny? Would you want to drive around in a car or maybe get a moped, it is much smaller? Do you want to travel 300 miles before refueling -- or you want to do it every hour? Now, a cell phone is for talking, and it must grab the signal really well, it must fit in my hand and have a good grip, I should be able to dial easily, and it should have good battery life, esp. standby time. My ancient Nokia stays up for a month. So: no switch this time. Sorry, T-mobile, might want to extend coverage to cover ALL of the silicon valley? How about guaranteeing 3 bars in supported areas -- or money back? Sorry, Sony/Ericsson, next time make a tool, not a toy
Rating: Summary: Just a phone.. I think not! Review: This phone speaks to me.. it advises me on the right diet, the right women, proper attire, what's right and wrong. It reads me to sleep (it even lets me pick the book, usually 'Goodnight, Moon') and wakes me up and enourages me that my hair really does look good. It's even my own private detective, it told me my girlfriend was cheating on me and it even shown me the pictures on it's beautiful crisp digital screen. The answers to life lie within this creation. ("Mr. Ericsson, I'll be right there I'm writing a review. Oh, ok lets go to the park. You know it is raining, you're so spoiled.")
Rating: Summary: excellent Review: You have a supper communication and beyond machine.you may not know what you have in this product. You have the world best. Ilove this product.
Rating: Summary: Great design/many features but not the best camera phone Review: Trust me this phone overall has a great design and many features but some things I dislike about it. LIKES: Bluetooth support, creative design, small size, many features such as voice commands, code memos (to remeber your passwords for credit cards etc..), note pad, picture ids, and recorder to record conversations(to catch someone in a lie!), ringer/picture downloads, long battery life. DISLIKES: 1.Camera: pics are dull; i dont even bother to use it anymore. If looking for a good camera phone this isnt the one! 2. Display: hard to see in bright lights outdoors and gets smudged easily 3. Buttons: are too small especially the 4 black buttons and middle joystick, you can easily press wrong button and delete something or exit a menu by accident, also have to keep keypad locked, you have to really get use to using the buttons. 4. Vibrator: you can easily miss calls because it vibrates so light, you may not even feel it. However, this can also be good since some phones vibrate so loud that everyone knows it's your phone!! (might as well kept it on to ring right??) 5. No speakerphone: would have been great for handsfree use. 6. The Call list: all the incoming, outgoing, and missed calls are listed in one menu; this is so unorganized to me and can be confusing; you have to look at the symbols to determine what kind of call it was. Also for calls more than a day old it doesnt show the time; only shows date and phone number. I think this is important to me, especially if you recieve a lot of business calls, because on machines like caller ids and voicemail they tell you the time not just the date. You also have wait for the display of text to flash to see all info because it can't be shown on several display lines. 7. Phonebook: you can't see all info at one once; you also have to wait till display flashes to see both name and number. This can be time consuming. 8. Text Messaging: writing a text message can be cumbersome. The T9 text input is somewhat confusing on this phone. You can easily exit the message and have to write it all over again! 9. Menu Access: On some menus you have to execute a lot of un-necessary keystrokes and some even take time to pop up such as when downloading; As stated before this can be frustrating and time consuming. ***I just had to add to this review today on Nov. 12, 2003*** that since I bought the phone on Nov.1, I have really experienced more horrible things about this phone.....sometimes when I am on a call and then try to disconnect the call, the phone sometimes freezes (crashes) and is reluctant to hang up!! This is similar to what happens to your PC when it freezes!! When this happens I have to turn the power completely off. I sure don't want to deal with the freezing problem with my PC AND a cell phone! As you might imagine this occurrence will continue to use up your minutes because it doesn't hang up call. I notice this happens especially when using touch tones when accessing automated systems such as voicemail and banking menus. I am in the process of returning this phone and purchasing a Samsung flip phone instead. The more I use the phone the more I find disturbing things about it.
Rating: Summary: UNREAL PHONE Review: Can I say that the only thing that sucks about this phone is the fact that I'm addicted to it??! It's unbelievable. Color screen is very very good, and the features are endless. I'm still finding all sorts of communication tools on the phone that blow me away. A buddy of mine down the hall has a Nokia 3650. I told him to switch the Bluetooth on, and so now I've been sending him ringtones, data, pictures..anything. Amazing stuff. Another girl I know just an infrared port, but I've been sending her all sorts of multimedia stuff through that as well. Okay so that's the part that's new to me. Beyond that, the quality of the phone is exceptional...I really like the look of the phone...seems like Sony is going to back to its older days but incorporating amazing technology in a timeless design. The phone is light, feels very solid, and is beautiful to look at. The sound quality is perfect, the voice commands are endless. I just can't say enough about the phone. You will NOT be sorry you bought this, especially if you're a gadget geek like myself. Enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: tempting but no Review: This phone looks AMAZING, and I absolutly love that it comes with a free blue tooth headset! However I have had to deal with SONY's tech support with with a laptop I had and it was a horrible experience to say the least. So I am using all of my willpower to not buy this phone even though it looks so amazing.
