Summary: Great phone, Very bad customer service for porting #s
Review: The T610 is a great phone overall - the free bluetooth headset works nicely, the infra-red connectivity and software provided on CD works flawlessly to transfer all Outlook contacts to the phone and the menus and features on the phone are all as advertised. Note: there is NO speakerphone despite what Amazon.com has on their phone data info. The headset jack is not the universal type, but the kit comes with a headset.
T-Mobile has a swivel leather case for it as well for purchase or you can buy a universal type small case from other cellular companies such as Bobby Alison Cellular.

The bad part of the experience has been to get my number ported over - T-Mobile has over 2 - 3 hours of hold time on their customer service lines!
It is a lot easier to get a new account or to switch a number to a new account. But to get a transfer from other companies to an existing T-Mobile # that you get from Amazon - this is almost impossible!

We have almost given up on it - the 3 times I have called T-Mobile customer service, they have lost my service request, mishandled it, have said cannot do it and once have been assigned a completely new SIM card and account as well!

They claim it is a problem with AT&T, but then when they tried to delete my request, their computer system would not allow it!

Stay away from porting #s if you want to use this phone or be brave enough to wait for 3 - 5 days or never for it to happen!

Summary: Not bad if you don't need the camera
Review: When I went shopping for a camera phone, it came down to the T610/T616 or the Nokia 3650.

The menuing system on the T610 is great. It's only counter intuitive in a few places. One small problem is that I organize my address book in levels (i.e. by name, and then I drill down into the name to get the numbers). When organized this way, the voice dialing only lets you assign a voice-tag to the primary phone number of any particular name. That means if I want to assign a voice-tag to my friends cell phone AND home phone, I have to break-out his information into 2 seperate entries in my address book.

One of the main reasons I got it, was for the Bluetooth functionality, which works great. I got a free Jabra BT-200 Bluetooth headset in a package deal from Amazon, and it works flawlessly with the phone. Connecting to my laptop via Bluetooth and dialing out to the internet works very well.

The screen looks great, and at 65k colors, it beats out the Nokia 3650's 4k significantly. It's not TFT, so it's somewhat difficult to see during the day.

The polyphonic ringtones sound great, though it's difficult to get just the correct volume. I always think mine is too loud.

I had reception problems in my area using AT&T (T616), but everything is great with T-Mobile (T610). Other than some OEM menu customization, the phones are identical.

The one drawback is the camera. I didn't get into this expecting great pictures, but the picture quality is pretty bad. The Nokia 3650 has VGA (640x480) quality pictures and an upgradable 16MB storage chip. The LARGE pics on the T610 are 288x352, which might account for the non-upgradable 2MB of storage space that's available. You must have near perfect conditions to take a picture that's not blurry. Plenty of bright light and a steady hand. There is a 'Night Mode' for low-light picture taking, but it doesn't seem to help much.

When it comes down to it, I picked the T610 over the 3650 for it's size...it's significantly smaller than the Nokia. I don't want a brick in my pocket, and I'll gladly sacrafice convenience and portability for a little quality.

Summary: Works Great ! Nice little phone
Review: I received this phone yesterday. Intially, I ordered the other model T616 with AT&T. There was nothing wrong with phone but my phone came with long distance number from my home area. AT&T could not resolve this issue in timely manner plus lately, AT&T customer service is at worst as their systems are down most of the time and the wait time to reach customer service is way to long (45 minutes to an hour OR sometime they dont answer the call at all).
So, I ordered T610 with T-Mobile and so far everything is great. Sorry, AT&T as I lost faith in your services. This phone has lots of neat features. I used to have Nokia 8210 model which was small enough to fit in my pocket. T610 is almost the same size and I am hoping that, it will last for long time as my Nokia 8210 did. This phone is very well designed. I am pleased with this phone. Now, Nokia has tough competition now.

Summary: Good design, Excellent battery time, Minor flaws.
Review: The T610 is well designed with good menues. The battery time is excellent. Ericsson phones have always had good batteries and this phone leaves the competition far behind. The screen is nice and clear. The biggest down side to the phone is the camera which isn't very good. Would be nice with a zoom. Don't think you can take any pictures at a party because lighting has to be very good. It also scratches extremly easy and there are no cover to buy to replace the scratched area. In other words put your keys in another pocket and don't drop it like you could with the older Ericsson phones.

Summary: Nice phone for a techie, but coverage not so good
Review: This is a nice phone for a techie type. Why not for everyone? No red and green keys.

I like it. Lots of neat features, consistent user interface, nice color screen, Bluetooth. But for a luddite like my wife, its a non-starter. Calls come in, and she wants to know where is the green TALK or ANSWER button. There are 4 keys that control the user interface - two are soft keys (watch the display), one is a universal go-back key, and I'm not exactly sure what the other one is for. Fine for the techie type, but not exactly the kind of interface my wife or my parents would like.

The only other problem is poor radio performance. This phone gets no signal where my old GSM phone worked well. It even loses the signal before my GSM Blackberry, which was my old benchmark for a bad radio. If you use it where there is good coverage then fine. Otherwise, you will get lots of annoyment from missed calls and inability to make calls.

Summary: Beware !! Check your Credit before going for this offer
Review: Though, I really have good credit, T-Mobile declined my orders due to credit issues. My credit score is 700+. I called them up and they said I need higher credit to qualify for this offer.

However, you can order the same phone/service from T-mobile website or anyother dealer but not amazon.com. How stupid is that? I qualify for one and not for others.

I am very disappointed with the fact the Amazon doesn't mention this anywhere in this offer.

Just beware before jumping in for this one...

Summary: I would rather buy samsung E715
Review: I would rather buy samsung E715, but this model is nice and brilliant. But comparing to E715, this model is just another low quality cell phone. With this price, i would buy E715

Summary: really great phone
Review: So far I absolutely love this phone. It has decent battery life, looks very nice, and I have had almost no trouble with dropped calls or weak signals. I have yet to try out the Bluetooth features.

In response to some of the complaints others have made, you do have to be careful with the charger. I had a Sony phone when I lived in France that had the same type of charger, and it is a bit different from other manufacturers' chargers. Be SURE to read the instructions in the manual on how to insert and remove the charger. It is true that it will break or become loose if it is constantly removed improperly. If done correctly though, you should have no problems.

Since I have had no problems with my signal, my guess is that the problems others have reported with weak signals probably have more to do with the service and not the phone.

Summary: Great little phone
Review: I was very hesitant in getting this phone because of the horror stories I have heard about T-Mobile's service and coverage area. Being a Sprint customer for years, I love the quality of CDMA phones but crave all the flashy features that GSM phones offer at rock bottom prices.
I purchased the phone locally at a T-Mobile store and they charged me only the tax ($32.00) for the phone and offered me a $100.00 refund from T-Mobile. I have yet to receive the refund but the phone would end up costing me -$68.00 with only a one year commitment.
I was able to use Bluetooth to browse for pictures I have taken with the phone and synchronize my contacts in Outlook via IrDA. I thought I could've sync via Bluetooth but I guess I was mistaken. Please let me know if you can.
The signal strength for T-Mobile is not as strong as Sprint. However, it wasn't entirely terrible. I am able to receive and make calls without alot of dropped calls.
The phone itself is a beauty. With that many functions, who can ask for anything more. Well, maybe a flash and a zoom feature on the camera. :) I would recommend this phone to anyone.
