Summary: Good phone at a great price
Review: This phone has tons of features. I've only had it for a few days and did a little searching and found sites with free ringtones, games, and wallpapers. I bought a usb bluetooth adapter and now I can transfer files back and forth from my phone. I did a bit more searching and found out how to control winamp from my phone. The reception could be better, but its not terrible, I've had 1 bar on the phone and still had good reception.

Pros:
Many Features
Great Looking
Great Price

Cons:

Smudges easily
not enough memory

There are better phones out there, but for a phone that your getting money back, ya can't really complain too much. As for T-mobile service, haven't had any problems, but I've only had the phone a few days. One complaint: They said it would take 14 days to switching over my old number.

Summary: Bad reception and camera
Review: Just like the other SE phone, the reception is bad. Also camera has delay, after you push a button, you will see a picture on the screen but that's not the one you captured; the one you captured will be one second delay.

Summary: Coverage problems; phone problems; bad transfers
Review: Contrary to what this site and T-Mobile lead me to believe, T-Mobile could not provide coverage at my home address. This did not stop Amazon.com from selling me the phone, nor T-Mobile from transferring my existing (working) AT&T number to their service (of course, this took two weeks and > 10 phone calls).

After receiving no reception, I called T-Mobile and was informed that they do not actually cover my area.

I called AT&T back, and they happily attempted to restore my account, only to find that T-Mobile refused to release the numbers.

After a month of essentially no coverage from anyone, my phones are happily back on AT&T where they belong.

The bad news is that T-Mobile has sent me a bill for more than double the quoted monthly rate and Amazon.com has not refunded my purchase price.

Even in areas where I could get coverage, the phone itself did not work well. After pressing more than a few keys, the screen would lock up and I needed to remove the battery to reset it.

Last warning: Watch out for the charges for inbound messages--if you really dislike a T-Mobile subscriber, send them lots of text messages (free from their site)--the subscriber has to pay $0.05/message.

Summary: Great phone
Review: I love this phone! My only complaints are it needs more ram and there is noticable flicker on the display. 2mb doesn't cut it for a camera phone. Even when the signal meter is in the red I can make crystal clear calls and have not had any dropped. T-mobiles customer service is a nice change coming from Nextel!

Summary: Think twice you like to use it to make phone calls
Review: The phone comes with many fancy features as documented, and it is sure deserved many many positive comments. I like to say something as a fundamental phone user.

I bought the phone during the Amazon promotion and I was using Sprint-PCS and I switched to T-Mobile solely for the new phone. Before acquiring the phone/service, I read all the reviews about this phone, it seems that so many people gave 5-star positive reviews, and it was convinced that I won't be wrong. Truly, it comes all those cutting-edge features, but in term of its fundamental feature as a phone, I am not happy at all: The reception power is weak (not even average). People may argue the signal in my area, all I can tell is My wife uses another T-Mobile phone - the Motorola V66 phone (tiny only 2.8oz, supposedly a cheap one), she can make a call where I cannot. The reception is even worse in a moving car.

Many reviewers had rated it one-star or two-start because of its poor reception power - I wish I had more attentions to theirs.

Another issue with the fundamental feature as a phone is that, I have no way to record a "dial pause" (commonly use the # key). For example, I like to record a calling card number (dial a number first, then a pin number after a 20-second pause), or check with corporate voicemail, I have to punch in the pin-number every single time.

The review board reminded me of the last purchase I made for the Nikon Coolpix 950 Digital camera (I paid $750 on Amazon, one of my most regretted purchase), the reviews on the camera was overwhelming high (even up to now, 4.5 stars of 90). Now I am questioning that the Nikon Coolpix 950 is such a short-lived product due to issues (I guess one of the most unsuccessful products in Nikon Coolpix family), how can the ratings be so high?? The same to this Sony-Ericsson T610 phone, are five-star reviewers all truly users or what??

Summary: Great little phone
Review: Pros:

- Compact, though large enough to use even if you have big hands like me
- Looks very nice, black and chrome
- Excellent screen colour and resolution
- Reception seems good. I live in a particularly bad area and I've not had trouble getting a signal outdoors.
- Bluetooth is very well integrated, easily controlled and works with all the other BT devices I have (Tungsten T, iBook with D-Link adaptor)
- Menu system and interface generally very easy to use
- Calendar, phonebook, email/messaging, all present and work well
- Sound is clear
- Java and Mophun. I'd not tried Mophun games before but they're good. Keypad is a bit too small for serious arcade action.

Cons:

- Low memory. Delete the themes, games, images and sounds you're not using and you will have room for taking pictures. This is the most annoying feature if you download a lot or like to take pictures.
- Screen is a little hard to read in direct sunlight (I have not found this much of a problem)
- Camera not particularly good (I moved from a Nokia 3650 which had a far better camera) and seems to encode JPEGs rather inefficiently.
- No XHTML browser, if that matters to you.
- Prone to getting fingerprints all over it. You'll need to wipe it down occasionally.

Conclusion:

I'd recommend the T610 to anyone. It's perhaps a little overpowered for the really casual user who just wants to make a few voice calls, but even for that sort of person it has all the features they'd want. For a power user who doesn't want a big smartphone like the 3650 it is ideal - particularly if you use Bluetooth.

You might want to wait for the Z600 to be available in the US, which is apparently even better.

Summary: Beauty is dangerous and often dumb...tis true here
Review: I am using this phone for the past one month. Though I read all the reviews about this phone I didnt think that Sony Ericsson could make such a bad phone. Agreed...It has all the features compiled in it...but what is the use of the phone if it doesnt have a good reception. (This is the worst of the phones in reception I have ever used). People might comeback and say reception is because of the area am in, but I checked with other nokia and samsung phones(of same service provider) in the same spot.My guy was the worst.

Not just that, this feature packed phone is not able to stand the load of all the features. It just hangs and the only way out is to turn off and turn on the phone. This would be the worst thing you would ever like to do when you are in the mid of a call or searching for a number.

The features might look tempting. But I would seriously advise anyone to think twice before buying this piece. I was totally disappointed by the quality of the phone. ( I am not writing this in a day or a week, I have used this phone for around a month).

Summary: Excellent Phone- definate must have!
Review: The most important features for me were long battery life and customization. I really didnt place an emphasis on a camera-phone when purchasing.

Pros:
1. Customization - Can have distinctive ring tone and image for each person that calls you.
2. Tranfer Files - I transfer images and midi files via the infrared port on my laptop all of the time. Just change the setting of the phone to "infrared" and place near the laptop, and the laptop identifies the phone immediately. No need for cables or to pay for Internet browsing capabilities on the phone. Just browse the Internet, download files to your laptop, and then transfer them over to the phone.
3. Battery Life - The battery life on this phone is outstanding! When you aren't using the phone, it goes into standby mode that puts a minimal drain on the battery.
4. Volume - Flexibility with volume control. You can make it relatively loud or quiet.

Cons:
1. Pictures - Resolution of the pictures is not that great. The Samsungs and LG phones have better built-in cameras.
2. Exterior - The exterior of the phone is susceptible to scratches and nicks. It is difficult to keep the phone looking like new.
3. Screen Visibility - When out in daylight, it is very difficult to see the contents on the screen.
4. Keys are a bit on the small side.
5. Midi files - my only wish for this phone is that it played mp3's instead of midi files.

Please note: If you do get this phone, do not forget to enable the "key lock" feature. This is because when you place the phone in your pocket, it can make calls to other people on your phone list without you knowing of it.
Also, I deleted most of the standard ring tones and pictures so that I can make space for the tones and pictures that I like.
