Rating: Summary: This is not your Nokia 5660 Review: A reminder in general to combo-pda users -- the screen is fragile glass, and not designed to take standard cell phone abuse. My Treo 600 screen cracked inexplicably within the month, alas, not a covered warranty item. $150 gets you a new screen, and sense of suspense. Other than that, it's great piece of technology.
Rating: Summary: Trouble adead? Review: After much anticipation I purchased my trio 600 about three months ago. Being a palm user for many years I found it very intuitive and well thought out. In fact, it exceeded my expectations. Now I'm having doubts and feel compelled to warn those considering this device. A few weeks ago, while out of town with only my trio, the thing started freezing up. The screen would become stuck in one position, nothing would work. All keys are dead with the screen light on. Even pressing the reset button would only bring me right back to the same problem. I called tech support ( not the can do attitude I'd hoped for) after much hold time and way to many questions having nothing to do with getting me back in touch with clients, I was walked through performing a factory reset. While having no phone numbers and not a clue as to my schedule I was delighted to know I could start returning business calls. Then it froze again (keep in mind that you cant remove the battery to reset) this time out of frustration and time of day I sat the thing down and said enough for today. After about an hour, without being touched it started working again.Round two with tech support. This time I was informed the problem must be a hardware problem and would have to be replaced. For reasons unknown to me this replacement process would take at least 8 days. In the meantime I went to Cingular and explained my problems. I have to say they were pretty great about, loaned me an antiquated work horse of a phone, one that never fails NOKIA and I tried to forget about the hours I've now lost. Now the problem that motivates me to write this at 11:00 pm on a work night. I received the replacement phone this afternoon. Charged it, synchronized it, and gave it a try. The new problem is in the speaker, not the speakerphone, but the earpiece. It sounds like a speaker when the paper has been ripped. I'm now wondering, is this a phone someone else has already returned? Has this device been released prematurely, leaving us gadget nuts begging for the simplicity and dependability of an old NOKIA? I'll make the call in the morning to see what Handspring has to say. To those considering this phone, I'd say wait a while, and at very least buy it only from a retailer willing to replace it on site. The jury's out!
Rating: Summary: Treo 600 is the greatest Review: For years I have carried around a 3 ring binder (as a manual pda) a clunky cell phone and a digital camera. Now everything is in one tiny package. I don't use AT&T (not available in The Bahamas) so I bought an unlocked Treo 600 and got a SIM from the local telephone company. It simply is the best, I would give this product 6 stars if they would let me.

Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Haven't tried the 650 yet but this phone is clearly the best on the market in terms of use, style, and functionality. A happy owner
Rating: Summary: I love this thingy! Review: I bet you can tell that I'm not a REAL techie. I just love cool gadgets. I love my Treo. I received it as a gift with the ATT service attached. I had to go and convert it to accept my T-mobile SIM card but that was easy, and now it works great. It takes better pictures than the Sony Ericsson t610 camera-phone I used to have. And I like that when you sync it the pictures automatically save to your desktop. I don't have to remember to send them to myself and save them.
The phone reception that I get in the Bay Area using T-mobile is actually better with the Treo than with the Sony. That surprised me because I read reviews knocking the reception.
The pda function works great for me as well. I use the Pylon software, and my calendar is in Lotus Notes. I haven't signed up yet for internet access because I'm an internet junkie and I'm afraid of huge bills for surfing all the live-long day.
I only miss one thing from my previous device: the "old phone" ring tone.
Rating: Summary: Worst phone ever! Review: I bought my Treo about 2 months ago and have had to replace it twice. Same problem both times. I can't answer calls because it goes straight to voice mail, the key pad does not work when checking messages and no matter where I am, it says I don't have service even though I do. My first Treo just died on me and now the second one is having the same issues. Don't buy this phone since many other people I've talked to have had the same problems I have!
Rating: Summary: Great phone/PDA, not so good camera, no voice dialing Review: I got this phone as a replacement for my IPAQ PDA and my T720 phone. It has replaced both very effectively. The only thing I don't like about the phone is that it doesn't have voice dialing. You can dial the phone through the contacts with a few buttons, and there is a favorites you can dial from, but I miss the voice dialing. The screen is really well lit, the keys have backlighting, and you can power-save with one button. I leave the phone on all day, use it for several calls, and it reads at 78% by night time. Not bad! One thing that I love about it, is the one-touch ringer-off switch. No having to go through several menu items to turn the ringer. I've never bothered having a camera phone, so I don't know if it's par for the course or not, but it seems a little lacking. I have to be under flourescent lights for it to look decent. I didn't get the phone for the camera, so I'm still giving it 5 stars. Bottom line: Can't recommend it highly enough!
Rating: Summary: defective treo 600 phone - a common problem??? Review: I had the following problem. The sound starts getting bad after less than a month of use and then sound drops out totally from internal ear speaker. According to the wireless store, this is a common problem. I wish I had done an internet search before buying the phone. Customer service from Palm is slow and very difficult to get. They insist on providing me with a refurbished phone, even though mine is only a little more than a month old. ATT says they are not responsible after 1 month. The palm software, as expected, works great . But we need the phone to work too.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Combo-Phone for Realists Review: I happen to know that I am an "early innovator" when it comes to new high-tech products. Generally, I tend to buy Ver. 1.0's of all kinds of things. Seldom with good results. Without question, the Treo 600 IS the best quality "first version" of anything I've ever bought. It is an outstanding product! (as the numerous awards it's received from CNet and others suggest). It is stable, the design is elegant, and it works. And, for people who understand English, even the manual (Sprint)is adequate. For those detractors looking for a Nikon digital camera or Apple i-Pod with integrated cell phone or PDA functionality --- you are in the wrong department. The Treo 600 is an essential business tool and supports functions for that purpose incredibly well.
