Summary: the downfalls of the i90
Review: I personally have experience with the i85's and the i90's. i regretfully have to say that the i90 is known not to have good reception and the menu is really confusing. i work direct for nextel and even in our training they stated that the i90's (being the smallest nextel phone) has the worst reception. overall, its really flashy and pretty nice. i personally use it right now but dont recomend it. Definitly not a good phone for the price it costs

Summary: Great Network Great Phone
Review: Disregard the bad reviews you see. Obviously they either live in the middle of nowhere (those complaining of bad coverage), or are just negative about Nextel for some other self serving reason.I have had Nextel as a service for almost 4 years now. I lived in several states, their coverage, access to the Internet, and ease of transferring numbers when moving to different states in unparalelled. They were the first to not require you to have a long term contracts. They were among the first to allow free incoming minutes. I had Sprint PCS in the past, and the coverage was horrible, I had ATT, the coverage was good but a lot of digital features would not work outside their digital coverage area. The I90C phone is lightweight, works great, and even has a speakerphone in it. I had the I1000+ which is also a great phone but much cheaper but bulkier, I would recommend that if you don't want to spend the money for this phone. The price to me is still high. I don't really like rebates since I don't know if I will ever get the money. So if the price without the rebate sounds ok, then go for it.

Summary: Bad Service
Review: The two way radio is cool but the size is just a bit big. I believe service is equally important as its product so I would like to share my opinion about Nextel. What I really don't like about Nextel is its service, computer in customer service dept. is often down and it's not easy to get through the customer service (it's always busy dial tone). Not mentioning the mistakes it often occurred on my billing statement. I wouldn't recommand Nextel as a trusted service.

Summary: Motorola i90c Nextel Phone
Review: I am writing to rate this great phone. This is a phone that should be on everyone's wish list. It's on mine's and it should be oon yours. This is a great Nextel phone and look it's great for lots of things!! Father's day is comming and what a great thing it would be to give this great gift to your father!! This is one of the greatest phones ever made!!!

Summary: You'd be crazy not to buy this phone
Review: I was hesitant to buy this phone with Nextel service for two reasons: I travel all over the country and Nextel does not peer or have any peering agreements with any other cell provider, so I thought service would be sketchy at best, but I was very wrong! I've got AT&T and Sprint phones and Nextel has always had service, where the other two did not; and I travel into some remote areas as well!
Secondly, I was afraid that this was a v60-type phone, which has poor battery life. The battery lasts for 4 - 5 days on standby, and 3.5 hours of continuous talk-time. I can't complain about that at all.
Plus the blue lights are just way too sexy to pass up.

Review: This phone is the worst thing i ever used!! Mine fell apart! No reception what so ever. Zero battery life. Not durrable at all. Nextel is very overpriced and has very bad coverage. I cant wait until November when my contract is up!!

Summary: Motorola i90c & NEXTel -- An Unbeatable Combination
Review: If you're looking for a quality phone that will combine the features of a phone, "walkie-talkie", pager & PDA you've found it! After being a loyal Sprint subscriber for over 4 years I wanted a phone and cellular provider that would handle all of my professional requirements better. Motorola's i90c is the phone. It's compact, durable and intuitive. This phone provides signal strength in elevators, inside rooms and short tunnels. After one month of use I have yet to find any limitations. Its internet software is compatible with MS Outlook. Now I can access my personal and office e-mail plus traffic and weather conditions anywhere! One really neat feature is its speaker phone. Just clip this phone to your sunvisor, press the speaker button when driving and it becomes a hands free device without requiring an "ear bud", and it's clarity is amazing. ... It's a must have if you're a person on the go wishing to consolodate your communication needs into one compact package. I'm "hooked" on this phone and NEXTel!

Summary: The Hipster Cell Phone
Review: First off, I use a cell phone for work and that's about it. BUT..while I was in Denver, CO., I happened to see someone with a "cool" little phone that had a really cool "blue" colored light for the keypad when they opened their phone. Let me just say again, cell phones do not really excite till I saw the Motorola I90. What a classy phone? It figures it is a Motorola, which I believe is the grand-daddy of all cell phones. Forget your Erickson's (ugly phones, by the way) or your Nokia's (common as night and day) and do yourself a favor and pick one of these babies' up. You will not be disappointed! A little pricey, but Amazon's price is what I paid for mine, just around the same price after rebates. If there was a phone that the MODS would use, this baby is it! Again, if you want cell phone elegance, then this puppy is for you! Last Note: I have owned three cell phones in my lifetime and they have always been Motorola phones. Man, you can drop these ..., kick them around a parking lot and low and behold, they still freakin' work. Enough said! Cheers!

Summary: Rock Solid With A Small Form Factor
Review: I purchased the i90 to replace my other Nextel phone which was an i85. The operation of both phones is nearly identical. Here are the things that I LIKE: 1. Programmable Styles: You can establish a setting for the car so that the ringer is louder or of a different type than what you would use in the office. 2. Speaker Phone: The speaker phone is loud an clear. 3. Reception: I had read some people say that the i90 reception was not a clear as the i85 or similar style Nextel phones. I have not experienced that issue at all. So far as I can tell the reception is virtually the same. 4. Battery Life: I find the battery lasts about a day with heavy use (I'm an 1800 minute per month user). 5. Voice Recorder: There is a feature where you can store voice memos which is handy for to-do lists and such. 6. Menu Structure: The complete menu structure can be re-ordered by you so that commonly used choices are near the top. 7. Construction: The i90 lives up to the advertising as a durable workhorse. I have had several other Motorola's and none have been this sturdy - including my Startac and Timeport. 8. MIDI Tones: There are several pre-set MIDI tones you can use as your ringer (unfortunately they don't let you add any yet). Now, here are the things I don't like: 1. In this day and age there should be one quick button to press that will allow you to turn the phone instantly to vibrate. (Note: Nextel indicates that the latest release of the i90 software supports the ability to quickly place the phone in vibrate mode by using the down volume key until you feel the phone start to vibrate.) 2. The phone won't allow you to receive a call with the flip open and then shut it (as you might with a headphone) and continue the conversation. This feature has been updated in the latest software release so you can now receive a call with the headset on and push the speaker button to answer the call. 3. The "smart" button doesn't seem to do as much as it could. All that I've found to use it for is to send calls directly to voice mail (Nice!!) and to view the last inbound number. This feature has been updated as well and the smart button allows you to now scroll the last few numbers received (using the volume keys) and push the speaker button to make the call. 4. Cannot scroll the phone book with the phone lid shut. Overall if you are using Nextel, this is a great phone to get. I don't think they have all of the bells and whistles of some newer models - but for Nextel phones (typically bricklike in structure) this is a huge step forward! I use the phone extensively in my home area which is Connecticut and get excellent coverage throughout. Some have complained about coverage in other states -- so far as I can see all the carriers suffer from coverage gaps to different degrees. August 26, 2002: This phone has more than survived heavy use and many drops to the pavement. No damage so far. Have not found a reason that I would want to trade the phone in for a newer model - it remains a rock solid performer.

Summary: Phone is ok for typical users...
Review: In my area, Nextel is the preferred carrier for construction companies. As a person who has 50+ nextel phones on my account, I know alot about the quality of these phones. I have seen them dropped in everything. The i90 is weak in the flip. The flip will fall off at the hinges or it will become disconnected inside the housing and quit working. Also the design of the keypad is weak. It is raised so that after using the i90 heavily for a year, the big round button near the top of the keypad begins to wear an imprint into your flip display.
