Summary: Professional quality phone
Review: Having endured the horrid service of AT&T Wireless for the past few months, with static, dropped calls, repeating sentences over and over, and really poor phone selection, I dumped them for Nextel and the i90c.

Although I've only had the phone for a short time, I have already amazed my dad with the call clarity compared to the AT&T service when I had the phone on the desk in speakerphone mode while talking with him. He didn't know I was on speakerphone and he definitely did know that I was not on AT&T Worthless.

The Direct Connect feature seems to work quite well also.

The size of this phone appeals to me. I'm not a huge fan of phones that try to be too small. This phone is small, but not microscopic. The keys on the keypad are a decent size and space apart, and the phone is large enough and heavy enough to be comfortable holding during conversations, but small enough and light enough to be practical to carry with you and use. A nice compromise, in my opinion. A nice touch is the thumb indents on the flip cover so that you really can pop this phone open with one hand, unlike a startac phone I owned in the past.

I would like to have the ability to press the down arrow on the navigation button and have it pop me right into my address book, like some other phones I've had, but otherwise the interface is pretty nice.

This phone is a professional quality phone, meaning that it has enough functionality for a business user, and the form and style to match. The same could never be said of any of AT&T's phone offerings save possibly the newer GSM phones, which I never tried. They don't have GSM available reliably in most areas yet anyway, and the phones available for use on their TDMA network, codenamed "STATIC", are basically kids phones. If you've never used a real phone or service, you might be pleased. Otherwise, you will want to use something like Nextel and the i90c.

With Nextel and the i90c, it's like stepping back into the world of business communications. So far the phone and the quality of the service have not disappointed. I look forward to hitting the road with it and seeing how far my Nextel coverage extends.

Summary: a very NICE piece of commo equipment!
Review: I used the I1000+ for several years and was afraid the I90 would be too small for a me. Wrong!. This is a rugged, yet nice piece of communication equipment. I say commo equipment, because the sales feature here is the Nextel "radio". If you have family members, clients or co-workers that utilize Nextel, then this is the way to go. I have had great cell and radio coverage throughout most of Florida. I've used the cell phone in several other states as well. Nextel indicates the radio service will be nationwide next year. This phone/radio is the way to go.

Summary: Wonderful phone, service
Review: I have had the Nextel i90c for about 6 months now, and I think it is a wonderful little phone with a lot of nice features. It's very sharp looking with blue illumination on the display!

Nextel is also the best provider I have found yet. There are never any hidden charges, and they have service just about everywhere - Even at my home in the boonies! :)

Summary: not quite perfect.. but will do for now
Review: I must admit the i90c is quite an improvement in some areas, such as size, style, and added functionality, such as Java 2 Micro, voice memos & dialing, and a longer recent call list. However, they have a few minors adjustments to conquer before this phone can become a true workhorse. For example, the lid is too tightly wound and if your finger slips off the edge while answering a call it will shut and hang up. Or, the little ac power cable's connector looks like two plastic toothpicks.. they should have kept the older, rugged power cable. I also don't like being shoved into a mode I don't want.. if someone private msg's you, unless you open the lid after you are done with the call, you will stay on private band, meaning any fumbling of your fingers or keys on the phone will cause it to connect. there are a few other minor idiosyncracies with it, but the blue backlight is hard to resist.

Summary: Good phone, but don't just buy it for the blue lights!
Review: Let me start by saying I've been a Sprint, Voicestream, At&T, and now Nextel customer. This phone has lots of features and the size is OK (getting smaller for Nextel, but still behind the other players). It should have the ability to send text messages direcly from the handset, but the two - way feature makes up for it. The menus are useable. After a few days of getting used to them, they become second nature. Another small gripe is that the vibrate function could be a little stronger. If I have the phone in a jacket pocket or on a belt loop you can't always feel it.
As for Nextel's service, I have the same problem I did with all other carriers, except Sprint. No coverage 70 miles Northwest of NYC. I have a summer house in the Catskill mountains and all the carriers go out of service some fifty to seventy miles out of the City. Only Sprint works, and that's roaming. I originally got a phone for this weekend trip, in case of car trouble, but no one seems to provide any coverage for the area. The phone doesn't work in the Poconos either. Many of my co-workers live in Orange and Sullivan counties and have the same problems.
Overall, the phone is sturdy and dependable, with enough features to keep anyone happy. If the coverage works for you and you don't need the very smallest phone on the market, the i90 may be your phone. But don't just buy it because it has blue lights!

Summary: Motorola i90c Phone
Review: I used a variety of phones so far, 3 Nokias, 3 Motorolas,2 Samsungs, and 1 LG. By what I have had so far, this is the best Motorola I have had yet. Better and more feature rich than the V60 and the original startac. I still say that the Nokia is a more user friendly phone, and seems to have a longer battery life. I can rarely go a day without charging. This phone is not very intuitive in it's menu layout. Also, the caller ID is on the inside when in the belt clip, which seems to go against my logic. If you don't need a Nextel, then I would suggest getting a Nokia with different service. But if you do need a nextel, this phone is definitely better than any other nextel out there, well maybe with the exception of the i95c, but that's a [spendy] phone, and the only thing different is the color screen.

Summary: love the speaker but not fond of user interface
Review: I've been using Nextel service for four years and have no complain of its service and coverage. i90c is a great phone and finally Motorola gets it. One weakness is the user interface especially functions for phone book. Love the speaker.

Summary: Convenient, but sometimes Confusing
Review: This phone is great, but for some reason, sometimes I will be in the middle of a call and it will just disconnect for no reason. Then sometimes you hear an echo of your voice. And every so often, my service just goes... like for no reason it just switches off for about 5 - 10 minutes even when my friends who have the same phone and Nextel service are right next to me and theirs work. Everyone I know who has one says the same thing. They are my only complaints. It's not that big a deal, since the upside to the phone balances itself out. Other phones have problems too, and this phone is worth it.
