Summary: Nokia 2260-frustrating beyond words
Review: Cell phones are a high steal item. The NOKIA 2260 has NO security in it--you cannot lock your phone with a password. (that is, the only way to dial out or answer-you put in a password). Thus, if you leave it in a restaurant or elsewhere, or drop it, *YOU* are responsible for the perhaps thousand dollar phone bill anybody can run up calling europe or whereever on your cell phone. I told Nokia and they have confirmed you cannot password protect this phone.

The internal antenna is NOT a blessing. If you accidently hold the upper portion of the phone, your signal will either get extremely weak or cut off. Easy to do considering how small it is. Would a phone cover diminish the signal? So you end up not getting a phone cover. Which comes to another problem:

It is VERY EASY to drop. The phone is small and slippery. I guarantee you will drop it on the ground as you have no traction to hold on to it. It's just easy to slip and drop.

For all of these reason--mainly lack of security for no password protection, I took it back and got a Motorola, which I absolutely love with extremely clear reception (better than this Nokia that's for sure).

Nokia 2260 has a nice display and a pretty blue light when it rings plus numerous different ringer sounds to choose from, but these cannot compensate the lack of security and easy to diminish antenna signal.

Summary: Dont confuse it with a higher end Nokia
Review: Dont understand why ppl BRAG so much about a product like this, its not a PDA/ CAMERA replacment its just a BASIC handset and if someone thinks that its features/ Looks are TOO CHEAP then they should spend some reasonable amount of money and and buy an expensive handset!!! Some people are a little too much! Well guys this is Nokia version of a Basic handset which is EXTREMEY realiable and VERY EASY to OPERATE esp for those who just want a cell and are not into TECHNOLOGY, I myself have been using it on AT&T FREE2GO and it has been JUST GREAT - AT&T FREE2Go and Nokia 2260 are a great basic combination esp for those who need a cell phone for occasional use. I RECOMMEND IT CUZ I OWN IT FOR 5 months now!!!

Summary: Dead in 24 hours
Review: I bought this phone with a prepaid plan from hsn.com. When I received it, it looked cheap and flimsy, but I thought "hey, it is a Nokia". I charged it for 24 hrs as recomended, then.. it just died. I am returning today. I am surprised Nokia put out such a poor performance item. It is a real trap, don't buy it!!

Summary: LEMON edtion Nokia DON"T BUY
Review: I got this phone as free upgrade to replace my old faithful 8260. When it finally gave up after 4 yrs & three family members worth of hard use, I was glad to choose it's updated cousin. That is until I got the phone. For some, reason some people who I contact regularly could not receive ANY audio from this phone. Even with full signal strength on both ends. Called ATT they said this was a known defect with some phones & they would gladly replace it.. The Second 2260 was tolerable until just after the 30 day warrenty expired. As I was entering a # the keyboard locked. on the # 2When this happens all you can do is try to turn phone off & wait until decindes to work again. This is also a well know defect to ATT & now to me Don't take the chance of finding others

Summary: HAVING TROUBLE SEEING YOUR PHONE? BUY THIS ONE!
Review: I'll admit: I was spoiled with my Qualcomm 2760 thin phone. It had a great display, and was nice and thin. I had to change it last year, when I moved to FL and found that Sprint had a "dead area" of coverage, which, unfortunately, seemed to be directly over my house!

I switched to AT&T Wireless, and have found the coverage and call quality to be very good. However, the horrible Nokia 5165 phone they gave me was thick, and the display was illegible. When my contract was up recently I was seriously thinking of changing carriers just to get a new phone, even though I liked AT&T.

Enter the NOKIA 2260. When I told the AT&T rep my problem, she went straight for the 2260. The display is so bright, I use it as a flashlight sometimes when I'm looking for something in a dark room. I'm not kidding. A very nice blue display, and decent size numerals, means I can check the time when walking my pooches at night.

It also uses a regular 2.5mm (?) headset jack, unlike the old NOKIA that had a special adapter. Holds a couple hundred numbers; it is my phone book. Battery life seems great. Best of all, it has a built in vibrating paging feature.

Quit squinting! Buy this phone!

Summary: heavy !
Review: it is not worth buying this phone. It is bulky and the keypad is hard to press. My fingers hurt when I dial. headset becomes hot when talking for more than 10 minutes. Battery life is terribly low! i think less than 90min talk time. Phonebook has only 200 entries--you cannot make separate entries for the same person like mobile, office/home like in the newer models.
There are much better phones in Nokia at the higher level.

bottom line: not worth a try!

Summary: Heavy little guy who makes calls by itself
Review: My husband and I bought two of these with a shared plan. Even though we're sharing minutes, we do not get any discount for calling each other, in fact, we get charged on both ends and we constantly get bad reception. (One of us usually hangs up and we call each other on my Siemens phone.) This phone is VERY heavy compared to every other cell phone I've ever tried. I also don't like the fact that there's no cover for it. I keep it either in my purse or in my coat pocket and it frequently dials numbers by itself with the slightest bump or touch from something... which adds to my phone bill.
