Summary: It's a joke phone
Review: Well...no good thing/product lasts forever.
After beeing the happy owner of a 6150 and a 6250 in Europe, after I moved to US I had a hard time in choosing a GSM phone. I was picky and expecting to find something in the same league.

When 6610 was offered by AT&T and T-Mobile I decided it's a phone that deserves a try. Now, after 2 months of intensive usage of all the functions I am asking myself what happened with Nokia? They used to manufacture good, reliable phones.

I will only say that after a month and a half of SMS writing, the phone heys were loose and noisy, like in a toy phone. I had to use the PC Suite and my laptop to write them and then IR them to the phone to be sent away.
The batery life per charge is a joke...3 days of barely using anything else than a SMS transmision at every 2-3 hrs during day time. My former 6150/6250 were in another leaugue here. 7-8 days between charges or even more if lightly used.

No Bluetooth, but my laptop compensates by having its own remote...go figure. What's next?

Only polyphonic MIDI, not actual wmv audio files...if you hear a cow mooing and then someone answering his phone...now that's a phone which can handle more than MIDI ring tones.

Summary: No voice activated dialing.
Review: Just received this phone after doing extensive research. Disappointed to find that voice activated dialing, one of the features I was most interested in, did not exist. Be aware that although the Amazon.com description notes this feature (an honest mistake I'm sure) you should look for another phone if you really want it.

Summary: Almost Perfect
Review: As a lifelong Nokia user, I think the 6610 is one of the best phones I have ever owned. The functions, the voice quality, and the remarkable battery life are amazing. There are only two significant problems. One is the extremely poor on/off switch. Every person I know who has this phone complains about the need to jam one's fingertip (or fingernail) against the on/off button and hold it there for a few seconds in order to get the phone to turn on. An inexpicable oversight/defect in an otherwise nearly perfect phone!!! The second issue is not a defect but an omisson -- the lack of BlueTooth which limits handsfree options (strange for a phone of this price and quality). Overall however, the 6610 beats most of what I've seen out there in terms of ease of use, durability, and versatility.

Summary: Great phone with below par sound quality
Review: This phone has awesome features, but it lacks one major thing. The sound quality is really really poor. It has excellent reception but there is constant hissing and the speaker is always vibrating. The speaker phone is great and even the headset is fine. But using the phone regularly could make your ear hurt.

The other features are great, but what use is a phone if you cannot perform the main feature.

Summary: Nice looking phone,Bad sound quality!
Review: I am unfortunately not very happy with this phone. The speakers sound quality produces what i can only describe as a harmonic resonating distortion at the end of spoken words,As if the speaker were blown.I do not keep the volume at maximum and have never used it with full volume so there's no reason for it.This does not happen continuously (Thank god)but does occur quite often. The battery life is very good and the phone is feature packed.Signal strength seems to be decent,Accept some times peoples voices seem to drop out for a second or so even when i'm just using it in my house(I am in an area that is suppose to have very good coverage,I am with T-mobile.Overall,I cannot recommend this phone because of its innate sound quality. The resonating distortion is annoying.

Summary: Excellent business phone
Review: This phone is compact, lightweight has great reception, and is very easy to use. The menus are all very self-explanatory, and it's PC sync feature is great (even though there are a few small glitches). The phone weighs next to nothing and takes up very little room in your pocket. It syncs up with Microsoft Outlook for phonebook, calendar and to-do lists. Aesthetically, it is a very sharp looking phone that is acceptable in a business environment. It has great battery life time (around 3 days).

A few small drawbacks that don't hold back the phone much:

-The volume and power switch can be a bit hard to operate, but there is probably good reason for this.

-The calendar feature cannot handle recurring events. (They will extend forever on your phone calendar.)

-All of your completed to-do list items will show up on your phone unless you delete them from Outlook.

Summary: Really good piece
Review: The phone is one of the sleekest available for this price. As has been said by people, the power on/off button is slightly tough to use. However, once you get used to it in a couple of days, there hardly seems to be a problem.

Pros:
sleek; light;good reception with T-mobile; sound is good and so is the display; features promised are functional

Cons:
Power button slightly accessible with effort; a little delicate...not for those rough handlers who drop their phone ever so often

Summary: Great at being everything but a phone
Review: I ordered this phone and was ecstatic when I received it. As soon as it was charged, I explored every menu and every feature and was thrilled with all it could do. The screen is gorgeous and it is loaded to the brim with features.

Finally, after putting in some numbers I made a phone call. That's where things started to go downhill. I noticed what sounded like a hissing sound during the call. Also, when talking to people, often it sounded like the speaker was blown because of the distortion that occurred every couple of syllables. I put in the headset, but while the sound was different, it wasn't any better.

Hoping there was just something wrong with my phone, I went to T-Mobile to compare one of the 6610's in the store to mine. Unfortunately, my fears were confirmed when I used a phone that one of the salesmen had. Same audio quality (or lack of). Additionally, there was someone in the store returning the exact same phone for the exact same problem - poor audio quality.

I was very disappointed with this phone. I have read many reviews about how this phone has great audio quality and was expecting it to be a great phone. Unfortunately, all the bells and whistles in the world can't make up for when a phone doesn't function well at being a phone. I have since found posts in forums from other people with similar complaints about hissy audio. I can only assume that it's the luck of the draw, though the odds are not very good, in my opinion. Surely ALL the 6610's can't be like this.

The phone has since been returned. T-Mobile gets a big thumbs up for not charging the activation fee because the service was cancelled within the first 14 days. Overall, I liked T-Mobile and if I can just find a phone from them I like, I would like to switch back.

Summary: I love the Nokia 6610
Review: One of the best Nokias ever made.

Summary: Great on feature not so on sound quality.
Review: All is great with this phone on the paper. It has plenty of useful features. However it does not work well as a phone. It has the most annoying hissing noise in the speaker. The sound quality is much worse than my 5 year old Samsung phone. I have not picked a replacement for it yet but it is definitely going back.
