Summary: THIS PHONE IS A LEMON
Review: I recently bought this phone because my 3360 (nokia) was stolen. I admit, the phone is really cool aesthetically and it has a loud ringer which I like. However, these cool features mean nothing when the phone itself doesn't work. I had many problems with the phonebook and when I performed a "master clear" all but 5 of my phone numbers were erased. That was partially my fault because one should always save numbers to the SIM card, but it still should not have happened. After 2 weeks the phone does not work. When plugged into the wall it would not charge and I tried a different battery as well as a different charger with no luck. I brought it into the T-Mobile store and the associate there informed me that they have had countless problems with this model, contrary to the wonderful reviews I have read on AMAZON. I am writing this to set the record straight. Again, cool features are meaningless when the phone itself does not work. Not to mention the fact that like all cameraphones, the camera takes awful pictures (stupid gimmick, if you want a great small camera get the PENTAX Optio). If you buy this phone just remember it is a total crap shoot, and I hope you don't have the same problems that I and countless others have had.

Review: first to the person who wrote that t zones is ONLY $5 a week you dont know what the heck your talking about it is NOT $5 a week it is $5 a month get it striaght! and for the other person who said it needs to look like the GU87 HELLO the GU 87 is a panisonic and the V300 is a motorola of course they arent going to look alike they are differnet companies! you people need to get your information right before you put it out on the internet and make your self look stupid!!
Other then that the phone is great, the best so far from motorola.

Review: I love this phone. I've wanted a cell phone for years and had one of those phonecard phones (boring) so when my husband bought his phone I told him to add me to the plan :) this phone is very easy to handle. It has a bright vibrant screen and for a cell phone, I think the camera takes great pictures. You can see a sample of pictures under www.amabilis.net/album/categories.php?cat_id=32 I was able to email friends and family a picture of our youngest son minutes after he was born :)The sound from the earpiece and speaker is very clear, there are lots of default ringtones that sound good to choose from. The demo games are great to play when waiting in line somewhere. The exterior screen displays the time in large letters so it's easy to see, and it will display who's calling before you flip open to answer. The voice recognition works great too (except when it picks up the baby crying heh). Anyway, this is a great phone and worth the headache my husband and I went through to get after returning our Samsung E715 phones...they're sold out of V300s in my town!

Review: I recently bought the v300 with T-mobile service and am very pleased so far. I will break down my review into "phone" and "service." PHONE:
The unit arrived 1 week after I ordered it, despite being backlogged in Amazon's system. I had a motorola m331(?) TDMA with Cingular, but because of some upocoming travel, I did not want to incur significant roaming fees. Also, that phone wasn't a flip phone, and hence buttons were easily pushed (= lower battery, unintended calls, etc.). The v300 is a VAST improvement. Sturdy phone, numerous features, relatively simple to navigate menus, and highly customizable. Battery life seems to be excellent, reception is amazing, the screen is easy to read and bright. Of note, I've graduated from college, from graduate school, from medical school, and I'm almost finished with law school - so you'd think operating/programming a cell phone wouldn't be a major challenge, yet cell phone software and functionality often escape me. This phone has largely solved my "cell phone impairment" and has been easy to operate and program. It has scads of features, many of which I haven't even tried yet (camera, data transfer, etc.). Two noteworthy features I love are the ability to type in names with phone numbers on T-Mobile's website and they are sent to your phone (saves typing names on the handset, an ability that still eludes me), and the ability to change ringtones to silent/vibrate without having to open the unit and navigate menus (great for lectures, meetings, etc; however I do wish there was a recessed "instant silent" 1-button option to make it even easier and faster to turn off ringer and then turn it back on after meetings without even looking at the phone). A few "cons" though these are minor points. First, the menus sometimes lag to respond, but indeed not terribly much. Second, the keyboard on my unit is not evenly backlit, so when the backlight is on, in the dark I can only see some of the buttons (this is due to uneven removal of ink from buttons to allow light to pass through). Third, I do wish there was wireless connectivity to my laptop/PC for data transfer. Summary: this phone is a great phone, far superior to my 331 unit. I rank it 4 stars because I am a tough grader and there is always room for improvement! SERVICE:
This is where I've really been impressed, with T-Mobile's service. Signal strength is very high in my city and seems to penetrate further into buildings than the Cingular TDMA signal did. Clarity is strong and no dropped calls to date. I ported my number over from Cingular, which only took 2 hours (total) from the time I placed a call to T-Mobile to initiate the process. Yes, that's correct, my number was ported in only 2 hours! Perhaps most importantly (to me), I've called T-Mobile 3 times before and after the purchase for questions, porting, etc. I've been stunned by the high level of customer service (get a real warm-blooded person almost immediately); representatives are both helpful and extremely courteous. Many of you know that over the last several years customer service in the U.S. has sunk down into the metaphorical septic tank. By comparison, for example, the very WORST customer service in Japan is about 10X better than the BEST cust. service in the U.S. Well T-Mobile seems to buck that trend, perhaps because they are a smaller firm (let's only hope they arent merged any time soon - another reason I left Cingular) or perhaps because the people in charge of CS have spent time in other countries. Even as a tough grader, I give TMobile customer service a 10/10 - and megakudos to their customer service managers and employees who have set up a top notch class act (for example, and anyone with hypertension take your lopressor and sit down before reading this...on two of my calls the representatives actually ASKED me if it was okay if they put me on hold while they got more information...I honestly can't recall the last time anyone has done that!). So in the end, I am very happy with the phone and practically jubilant about the TMobile customer service. I have recommended both to my friends and colleagues, and hope that TMobile continues to take the rarely-traveled high road and treats paying customers as, well, paying customers - a real diamond in the rough in the United States these days! You will be happy with this phone, and, inter alia, the service that comes with it (so long as you are in their service area and not in the sticks somewhere).

Summary: Awsome Phone!!!!
Review: This phone is the greatest. The number one attribute is its cool style. The phone looks extremely stlish when closed or opened. It also has many great features: camera, mp3 ringtones (can have an actual song as a ringtone), Can dial a # by saying the name of the person you want to call, can download and comes with cool backgrounds for screen, pictures for caller id, you can mix your own music, and is perfect for talking which is the most important thing for a cell phone. Menu is also really cool.

Summary: Very good, with a plethora of features
Review: I have had this phone for 3 weeks now and am quite happy with it. It supports text messaging, AIM, voice dialing, voice recording, and picture caller id. It has a calculator with a memory feature and a currency exchange feature. It has an alarm clock feature with 5 alarm settings; I'm sure this will prove its value when I go traveling. I haven't used the built-in camera yet, but I am pleased that T-Mobile gives you the option of paying a flat-fee monthly charge for sending picture messages or a pay-as-you-go per-message fee. This phone is very customizable. Wallpapers and ring tones can be downloaded to the phone from T-Mobile's web site. You can make up your own ring tones as well using the MotoMixer (haven't tried this). The features associated with the soft keys, navigation keys, and "smart" key in the home screen are all assignable. Reception with this phone in the Dallas area is excellent, especially after adding an antenna booster sticker (those things really work!). Voice quality - very good, though I have noticed that the amount of background noise during calls is inconsistent. Screen - very good. Sharp colors and resolution. Date Book - very good. This is a calendar feature that I synchronize with Microsoft Outlook using Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools and a data cable (purchased separately). Phone Book - good, but ironically is the one of the weakest parts of this phone. It has no ability to store addresses, which my prior 4 year old phone did. It can store email addresses, and you can send text messages to those addresses. By default, it shows all entries in the phone book; you can changes this to just show the primary number of each entry and then scroll through the remaining phone numbers for a particular entry after selecting that entry (my preference). I synchronize this with Microsoft Outlook using Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools and a data cable (purchased separately). Web Browser - quite good, but hangs sometimes. On occasion, I have had to take the battery out of the phone to recover from a hanging browser session. Bookmarks for the (WAP) web browser can be set up through T-Mobile's web site. Web site addresses can also be assigned to shortcuts and then accessed by pressing Menu+digit; very handy. T-Mobile's WAP page (called T-Zones), allows you to quickly access weather, news, sports scores, movie info, and lottery numbers. T-Mobile provides a very nice web experience and I use this feature heavily. Battery - fair. Battery runs down fairly quickly with heavy use. I keep a spare battery and a car charger around just in case. To make things worse, the battery meter is not accurate; it shows a power reading of 6 (highest) for a long time and then quickly drops to 4 and then 2; it's akin to those gas guages from automobiles 15 years ago! Quibbles - web browser hangs sometimes, vibrate length is too short when receiving a text message, lacks ability to page up and down a whole screen's worth of phone book entries or web browser text, battery meter is not accurate. To get the most out of this phone, you will want to download the reference manual for the phone from Motorola's web site. In summary, I am quite pleased with this phone, but I'm itching for Motorola to release a firmware update for this phone or to release a successor to the phone.

Summary: A Full-Featured Phone
Review: As they say, good things come in small packages! I know that I'm happy that I purchased this phone, but my g/f is ecstatic! This is my first cell phone purchase. It is VERY user-friendly (I easily customized my phone without the guide...directions/manuals are for whimps :) My V300 arrived activated and somewhat powered up ready to use, but my only dilemma was how quickly I could learn how to use all of the many cool functions before running out of power. I'm a photographer and the phone's camera is no where near what I'd consider a serious contender in the field, but it definitely is a fun feature to have on board. Apparently this is a high-demand phone and Amazon's shipping estimate is (much) later rather than sooner. Their original shipping date was about 5 weeks away -April 14th. I received it in 5 days! I think that this is a great purchase. I know my g/f thinks so too!

Summary: Superior to the competition...
Review: Ok, so Sony Ericsson 610 has bluetooth technology. But does it do the fundamental things well? Absolutely not! I had dropped calls and generally poor reception with the Sony Ericsson. Where the 610 gave me two or three amber bars for reception, my new V300 gives a full 5 green bars. In addition, it's seems solidly built and has the cool blue color. All in all, a much superior phone to the Ericsson sham.

Summary: Still Waiting
Review: I ordered the V300 with service on February 6 thinking it would come before March 31 so I could get my $200 mail in rebate. Unfortunatly it STILL has not come (March 16). The cell phone I've heard is great and I expect it would be a lot better if I actually had it. I've called amazon and they are no help at all. Also I had to get their number from Tmobile because they don't state their number on their website. My cell phone has not even been shipped yet, and they moved the shipping date to march 25-april 4 when it was originally march 9-march 23. I'm thinking about just going to a Tmobile store nearby and ordering it. Just be aware that this could happen to you too.
