Summary: DONT STAND A CHANCE WITH SAMSUNG E715
Review: well my best friend has this phone is not a bad phone has o right pictures testure is nice signal is good but i dont change it for my samsung e715 is like compareing a mercedes with a honda take you to the same places probably on the same time but not every body cant afford to have the same style and he of course the price,for me the e715 has better style and better quality pictures,what i yes give to the phone is the speaker phone and the voice dialing some thing that samsung needs to improve

Summary: Finally, a good replacement for my old V60.
Review: Motorola hasn't released many good new flip phones in the last several months but that's changing. I purchased two new V300 phones just before Thanksgiving and my wife and I love them.

Very easy to use, the color screen is crisp, and I've not had ANY problems at all with the software, solid as a rock. So many improvmements over my old phone, the specs tell the story, built-in camera, speakerphone, great sounding ringtones, etc. The phone has a solid, durable feel. Motorola spends a great deal of time and money making sure they have a rugged phone that holds up over time.

I had AT&T previously and while the service had great coverage the quality of the call was not always that good, must be the old TDMA network. Ever since I switched to T-Moble the calls have been very clear, even with only 1 or 2 bars of signal strength! The GSM network is superior when it comes to clarity.

Overall, the phone is a great value and it works with all my old V60 accessories. For the money (I paid $100 after rebate) you can't find a better, more durable phone. Highly Recommended.

Summary: Goodby Samsung... Hello Moto
Review: After owning several Samsung phones over a period of 8 years while with Sprint, I noticed Samsung never devoloped a flip phone with voice dialing, and a speakerphone all in one.Well many of use road warriors been waiting long enough...Now I'm with T-Mobile,and much happier! I use is a cell phone only for business while in the car. The V-300 works great,clear audio on speaker mode, or with the ear bud.The volume is unbeleivable and clear, you can even here alerts, even while on the phone, something Samsung(S-105) lacked. Camera Phone works well for the basic needs, however images can look a little like photos of UFO's shown in the newspapers.Text messages and alerts come in quick not ten minutes later like my Samsung. Form follows function, the V-300 is a great tool for any one who operates a vehicle, and needs Hands Free operation...I just would like to see the fonts on the screen, and the keypad letters larger! This would make it easier viewing the screen while driving, or dialing out with the phone placed on the carport. If you need a reliable cell phone, here it is...look no further.

Summary: I think this is a very good deal for a very good phone.
Review: I have had this phone for 48 hours and my wife and kids and I have used it non-stop, The kids love it for the games and AIM. My wife has a motorola v66 and thinks this v300 is what she wants for her next phone. My unit was made in China, not from CZ. Reception in Savvis Center during Blues game was crystal clear! AIM and WAP has been a lot of fun. Camera is fun and I must dis-agree about what I read concerning the quality of the pix -- they are 640x480 and great flesh tones ;-) the brightness settings and zoom are fast and easy to manipulate. The phone has a good weight to it, a nice texture to the feel, the outside blue glow LCD is a classy understatement. The internal color display is bright and allows for contrast control. I really feel T-Mobile has made the phone affordable and their coverage in my area is complete. By the way, Motorola phones have a line of accessories which can be used on a variety of phones. If you buy a smasung, there is less availabilty since each phone has it special accessory group. Yes, moto has had some dog color phones in the past, but the v300 is a value leader (thou in short supply) and a lot of fun inside a cellphone.

Summary: Good phone, but has some bugs and annoyances
Review: Overall this is a pretty good phone, especially when one considers how much functionality is included for the price. The MP3 ringtones are pretty neat (and you can use the phone as a poor man's MP3 player since you can set it to play MP3s with the phone closed), speakerphone in general is louder than Nokias, and the rubberized exterior means I can put it on my dash and not worry about it falling off! I'm pretty satisfied with the phone, and though the camera isn't the best out there, it does include a nice slideshow feature. Motorola also improved their user interface and it's nice and responsive unlike my prior Sony Ericsson T68i. And the alarm clock gets nice and loud, it really works well.

This phone is plagued with some bugs though, with people complaining of: random restarts, random shutdowns, hangs in browser. (I bought two of the phones and haven't had these problems though.) In addition, there are little annoying bugs like the backlight takes close to a second to turn on when you open the phone, when you set a custom ringtone for a contact number, it will use that for phone calls or SMS messages from that phone number (ignoring the SMS ringtone you may have set). Worse yet are the T-Mobile annoyances: they removed the e-mail client which Motorola will include in non-T-Mobile V300s, they seem to have removed the ability to send recorded voice notes in an MMS unless you record it while your composing your MMS, and they've added links to various T-Zones features throughout the phone, which serve as nothing more than annoying advertising really.

In the end, value wins here, if the phone were priced higher, I would not have purchased it because of the annoyances above.

(Tip: if you don't like having contact entries for John's Cell, John's Home, John's Work, etc, you can set it to display just the primary contact, in this case "John" and then it'll show an icon to the right of the contact name. Pressing right or left will go through all the other phone numbers/email addresses for that contact. Even handier than having to click on the contact name and then scrolling to the number you want.)

Summary: great, but not great
Review: First off, this is my first Cel Phone. I have never owned one before. I have
used my friends, on occasion, but never bought one myself.
The 2 things I think should me most important (aside from reception:
that would be your carrier), is the Size, and usability.
This phone has great buttons. I like the feel of all the buttons on the
inside. You can dial without looking at your phone. I chose this one
over others, because the buttons are raised. Other phones have these
flat, buttons that blend together.
Anyway, the menus seem intuitive, and everything works great.
Setup was so easy, I hardly thought I was done.

CONS: The sound on this phone sucks. Everything needs a big
amp hooked up to it. The ringer (if its a preset sharp noise) can
be heard in a crowded room, but If you choose one of the songs that you can download,
you will NEVER know your phone is ringing. In a club.... forget it. In
your car (with the radio on) ..... never hear it.
And if you are talking to someone, you have to put your finger in
your other ear, then move to a quite spot to hear them. I have to roll
up my car window, every time I get a call on the road.
I see my friends phones, and I can hear the person they are talking to
when we are in a bar with music, and large crowds, and I see their phones
vibrate across the table and onto the floor. Not my phone. My CD player
has more vibration.

This phone has a nice feel, the menus are intuitive, the camera is nice,
but the sound sucks.

Summary: Not Bad...pluses and minuses...
Review: The V300 has a lot going for it, but there is clearly room for improvement. But for the Amazon price, it was the best bang for the buck I could find. Here's my thoughts on both the phone and the service. Phone first.

PROs:
+ Gorgeous screen
+ Decent camera (for a phone)
+ Somewhat good user interface
+ Small (clam shell)
+ Battery life pretty good
+ External display (w/ indiglow)
+ Nice audio sound

CONs:
- Side buttons can be easily accidentally hit (changes ring settings)
- Screen cover gets face oil on it
- Carrying case doesn't fasten to large belts as good as StarTac carrying case
- Phone randomly shut off after about 1-2 months of use. T-Mobile replaced it with newer version that fixes problem. Let's hope!
- When storing numbers in SIM, SIM doesn't allow "associations" with number (cell, work, home, etc.)
- Can allegedly interface with MS Outlook, but cable-software is another $45. It should be included!
- Included games are demos only!
- Time not auto-synchable with T-Mobile GPS accurate time (in other words, you have to manually set the time! grrrrrr!)
- WAP sites are text based mostly. Didn't live up to hype.

(the last two points above are likely not Motorola's fault, but they impacted overall rating.)

Phone Service (T-Mobile):
I have mixed feelings about T-Mobile service/customer support. I've dealt with some amazingly helpful people at T-Mobile, but that's not to say there weren't some problems. For starters, they sat on porting my phone number from SprintPCS for about two weeks longer than they should have. It was there in there database for processing but it (paraphrasing) "slipped through the cracks" until I called to get status. Before I ported, though, one operator told me that I couldn't port my number (due to going through Amazon) while two others said I could. In the end, it worked out fine. I also had some issues with some T-Mobile store workers. I went down to check out the V300 in person before I ordered. One worker tried to convince me that Amazon wasn't sending back the rebates as a fear tactic for me to use the store instead of Amazon. I got my rebate fine (as I do with all Amazon rebates). And when I returned my first broken phone, they tried to get me to pay for the $15 shipping fee even though the phone problem was a known defect and still under warranty. After I expressed frustration, they waived the $15. It seems that T-Mobile support is helpful most of the time, but they have some rogue employees not always with the right info or right attitude.

Finally, if any of you think you are "buying America" with Motorola, guess again. Motorola is definitely part of the overseas outsourcing epidemic.

Summary: Great Phone, Great Price
Review: I really like the phone. The fact that it is a flip phone keeps the screen protected from scratching. It is very small, and takes up little space in my bag or on my belt.

The case it comes with is really useful; it includes a belt clip and a small velcro strap that keeps the phone from falling out if the case is turned upside down.

The pictures from the camera are decent, but become pixelated very easily if you try to email a close-up (that you have zoomed).

Summary: A good pick
Review: This is a handy and cute phone. Impressive color display. Clear polyphonic ring tone. Easy-to-use bulit-in camera. But only when you would want to delete the contacts, delete the unwanted saved pictures, the 'delete' function was hiding somewhere hard to be found. Speaker phone worked well but the signal is not that great. Is this because it's a flip phone? Voice can be heard better when using headset though. Anyway, this phone is definitely a good pick when compared to its price.

Summary: SUCKS!!! BUT customer service is amazing...
Review: OK... sooo i just got off the house phone with t-mobile... They are sending me my 3rd V300 due to problems... My first V300 within 3 months lost all sound out of the earpiece... bassically i had to have the phone on speaker all the time... Then they sent me a second one... Within another 3 months the same thing happened to this one... THATS TWO PHONES IN A ROW THAT THE EARPIECE WENT OUT!!! BUT!!! T-mobile has replaced the phone both times with little hasle and no cost out of my pocket... A+++ for customer service!!!
