Summary: Freezing T610? Get the firmware updated!
Review: Hi, I've owned my SE T610 for 8 months now and it has NEVER frozen! Originally bought in Norway, but using it in Australia now with different Networks down here I've only good things to say about this phone! The interface is different and slightly more advanced than the Nokia's. But at the same time, the T610 is way more compatible with PCs and other phones than the Nokias. I.E: Nokia put a block on sharing pictures through bluetouth and infrared. They have a deal with the Network providers so that they can charge you by using the picture messenging service. T610 can send and receive any media from other infrared and bluetouth sources. I even managed to print my pictures from the phone through a cheap HP printer with infrared. Just sent the picture, any it came out on paper! That's cool!

If you have problems with a freezing phone then just go to a Sony Ericsson retailer and have the Firmware (phone software) updated for free (if still under warrenty). It will never freeze again, promise!

Sony Ericsson T610, worth the money and excellent satisfaction!
Just get it!

Summary: Amazon Availability Status Not Reliable
Review: The phone is great, just don't believe the "available in 24 hours" status provided by Amazon. Even if the actual shipping estimate is 3 weeks off for those who have already purchased the phone, Amazon continues to display "24 hours" on the product page. It is sad. I normally love Amazon. Why they do this, I have no idea, but consider yourself warned!

Summary: Battery estimates way overestimated
Review: Just a not: I have never gotten close to the battery time that amazon has listed. I get maybe 5 days of standby if I'm not making any calls or using the phone at all. I get max 4 hours of talk time. Amazon has over 10 hours of talk time estimated.
I like the phone but thought this info might be useful.

Summary: Love it, Love it, Love it
Review: I've had my T610 for about 3 months now and I'm still in love with it. I highly recommend getting a bluetooth adapter for your computer to take advantage of customizing this baby. I've downloaded Midi files, games and photos off the web and copied them to the T610 for FREE! No SMS charges or web site fees. It's everything I wanted in a new cell phone. Camera, color display, fully customizable. It's great. Battery life is still good. Standby about 3 to 4 days, talk about 3 to 5 hours, maybe more. The down side... Color display hard to see in bright daylight (but not impossible), it has frozen on me a few times, mostly with internet. Internal antenna may not be as strong as an external, but I usually get great reception even with only 1 bar showing (inside bldgs). Highly recommend, might want to look into the T626 or T630 for better color display. Go get it!

Summary: bad bad bad
Review: This phone is ***extremely*** bad reception. Where other T-mobile phones work, mine will not. Other than that, it's very cool, love the Bluetooth... BUT, I can't use the phone!!! It drives me nutz. It also froze on me a few times, removed the battery, put it back together, it came back up... New firmware might fix the freezing issues, but not the extremely poor reception :(

Summary: Disapointing
Review: Within days of activating my new phone, the problems began. At times, it would freeze up, not allowing any incoming or outgoing calls, yet to look at the screen you wouldn't be able to tell if there was a problem. It got to the point I would have to remove it from the crrying case and remove the battery in order to restart it.

The charger connection also gave me a ton of problems too. It is akward to connect, and even after connecting it, it some times didn't charge becasue the chagre wiggled slightly, losing a good connection.

I sent one phone back already, and three days into my second phone the same problems are occuring.

I am getting my money back and looking for something else.

Review: i can see that this phone is very spectacular and i always like to make and receive my calls on it.

Summary: Huge number of features
Review: Great features - except for the phone one. Seriously - Bluetooth, IR, good phone book features, nice color display (though it washes out if you are using polarized glasses). However, I get much weaker signals (and call quality) on this phone vs. my previous one. If everywhere you would use the phone has strong signals, you may be just fine - but if you are on the edge, this is not the phone for you, unless you value the non-phone features more than it working as a phone. :)

Summary: Very Nice
Review: I've had this phone for about 2 months now and i havent had any major problems. The bad things are:
1.Too much screen glare when outdoors (almost impossible to use even with the default theme (impossible to use with the other themes provided))
2.It seems very slow to open programs such as games (the menu screens don't come up fast enough which can get frustrating)
3.The phone has frozen a few times when i've cancelled GPRS while connecting.
4.You can't set recorded sounds as a Ringtone.

5.Memory too small (You cant have too many things (memory will run out))
6.No Mp3 player (memory card slot would have been real neat)
7.I live in Australia and i'm with Optus, the reception is less than perfect (sometimes ever outside). But this might just be because of where i live.

THE GOOD THINGS
1.Size-One of the smallest phones on the market (i catch a bus and when i use the phone most people get amazed at it's size)
2.Easy to transfer pictures from my computer to the phone (But not back)
3.Connecting to Bluetooth phones is easy as pressing the joystick (after going throug the menu)
4.Very good Ringtones (Loud enough to hear the other side of the house)
5.Very light to carry around, hard to notice it's easy.
6.Shortcut buttons are real neat (apart from the GPRS Button). When you need the camera, It's just 1 click away.
7.Battery life is more than adequate for what i use it for.

Overall, the good things beat the bad by quite a bit. But i would suggest Sony Ericsson to make a Non-Glare screen (the screen is almost Unusable (Outdoors) because it's reflective (shouldn't have any glare on it.

For someone looking to buy this phone, i'd say look at all the other phones available and then decide on whether to buy it or not.

I recommend you buy this phone.
