Summary: Wish I read the first review before I bought this adapter
Review: I had purchased this adapter because I was bringing my laptop with me on vacation to Hong Kong, China and Japan. So after I checked in to my hotel in HK, one of the first things I did was set up my laptop. I used one of the settings on the adapter to plug into the wall outlet and it fits great! I'm happy! But to my dismay, when I tried to plug my laptop power supply into the adapter, the plug wouldn't fit! Just as the first reviewer stated, for U.S. type plugs, it only accepts the standard two prong plug. And mine is a three prong!

Since this adapter was advertised to be able to be "all-in-one" that would handle plugs between 100 different countries, I had just assumed (yeah, I know what they say about assuming . . .) that my three prong plug would work. So I didn't bother trying it before I left for my vacation. Big mistake! But luckily it was not a fatal one because Hong Kong is a modern city and I was able to easily pick up a simple 3-prong to 2-prong converter that solved my problem. If my itinerary were different and I started my vacation with the cruise up the Yangtze River, I would have literally been "up the creek" without the proverbial paddle.

Other than that glaring deficiency, the adapter worked great. I don't know if other countries have a similar "problem" with different types of plugs like the U.S., so "buyer beware"! And don't assume anything!

Review: The Fellowes Swiss World Travel Adapter is a convenient device to have when traveling abroad with devices that have universal switching power supplies, such as most laptop computers, digital camera and cell phone battery chargers, and electric shavers.

This product is a plug adapter that enables the use of the following types of power plugs:
- American (2-pin Type A Class I),
- Australian (2-pin Type I),
- European (round 2-pin Type C) power plugs;

with these types of power sockets:
- British (3-pin Type G),
- Australian (Type I),
- European (round 2-pin Type C),
- American.

Take heed that the Fellowes Swiss World Travel Adapter accepts American plugs that are Type A Class I plugs - where both flat prongs are of equal size. If your power plug has two-prongs where one prong is wider than the other (a Type A Class II plug), or three-prongs (Type B plug), you'll need to buy a three-prong to two-prong adapter - something you can usually find at a local hardware store for about $1.00.

If you need to use devices that cannot work with different line voltages abroad, you'll need to get a converter or transformer in addition to a plug adapter.
