Summary: Excellent Label Maker
Review: Having purchased a Casio two years ago and being extremely disappointed, I carefully researched label makers. I purchased the Brother 1750 and it did not disappoint. Large LCD screen, extremely easy to use, little doohickey helps separate the backing from the tape (it uses several different colors and sizes of laminated tape). Although I did not purchase the optional AC adapter, it's nice to know I can if the batteries wear out too quickly. This is an excellent product for home and office use and I highly recommend it.

Summary: A few problems
Review: I just purchased this product. In the instruction manual, it states that only the Brother AC adapter should be used and any other will invalidate the warranty. Why is it that only a Brother adapter can be used when AC adapters are supposed to be standard? A tactic to increase sales? The adapter itself costs an additional 15 to 20 dollars. In addition, I agree with some of the other reviewers that a significant amount of label is wasted with each printing due to the empty space on either side that must be cut off. The 2 line printing does look very nice. I have not used many of the other features and so cannot comment on those.

Summary: Fine except that you have to trim your own lablels
Review: I like everything about this product except for one thing: unless you're happy with a margin of about two inches on each side of the text, you have to cut each label by hand. It does offer narrow margin options, but when you use this option, you just get a dotted line on one side that you have trim along. What a pain!

Summary: Nice, but...
Review: I really like everything about it, except one big thing. It wastes a lot of blank label with each print. The replacement labels are costly and it leaves me wondering if Brother designed it that way to boost sales of replacement label cartridges. I am always cutting off the excess and wondering how much money is going down the drain each time.

Summary: Good capability, fair price
Review: I was looking for an inexpensive, yet high quality, long lasting, and durable way to identify dozens upon dozens of electrical wires behind the instrument panel of my airplane. A fellow pilot made me aware of the family of small electronic labelers available in the marketplace. The Brother 1750 fits my needs perfectly. Offering two lines of crisp, highly readable print gives a professional appearance to all labeling needs. My experience is quite different than some reviewers who have complained about wasted tape. In fact, I found that little wasted tape is generated if you simply adjust the margins to a particular task and this option is clearly spelled out in the instruction booklet. Since I purchased the 1750, I have found many uses for it around the home office and I wonder how I got by without one in the past! My only complaint about the keyboard is that among the characters, it does not offer a dash or hyphen, so when one is required, I find myself using a star instead. That is a minor complaint though. The Brother 1750 gets considerable mileage on AA battery power alone, so I have not felt the need to purchase the adapter.

Summary: Wasted tape is a big problem
Review: It is obvious that Brother designed this labeler to waste tape. I bought the labeler because I wanted to implement the Getting Things Done System. I find the labeler useful but I am very annoyed that Brother made the labeler is such a way as to force people to buy as much of their tape as possible. The reviewer Rick Galati is completely wrong. There is always wasted tape no matter what adjustment you make and the wasted tape is usually substantial. There is absolutely no way to prevent the labeller from wasting tape. No matter what setting of the margins you use the labeler will always print out an margin on the left side. There is a margin setting called "NONE" but even this prints out a sizable margin on the left side. The worst thing though is that if you use the settings which reduce margins than you no longer have the text centered in the label. Instead there will be a margin on the left side but no margin on the right side. Thus you have to cut the tape in order to center the text which is a big hassle. In fact I just use the labeler with the margin settings set to "FULL" because I don't want to bother having to cut the tape myself. Brother could easily of made the labeller in such a way as to reduce the margins but they didn't. I can only include that they did this on purpose to get people to buy more tape. The tapes themselves are about 20 dollars.

Summary: A Mom
Review: LOVE IT!!!!
Not only has it come in handy for labeling my son's Lego containers but I use it in the Kitchen. And since my aunt has moved into an assisted living situation, I have used it more that I thought I would.
