Summary: Not Possible To Use with IPAQ HX 4705
Review: Although a search in Amazon lists this keybooard as compatible with HX 4705, it is not. There is no way to align the IR port of the keyboard with that of the HX 4705. I had to return mine and pay for return shipping charges because Amazon probably does not think that they are misleading their customer. BEWARE.

Summary: Compatible with HP products but has several trojan horses
Review: Certainly as it claims, a universal keyboard or atleast compatible with HP IPAQ models 2200 and above. The keyboard does have a smooth response, i.e. no elf effect and yes cursor keys though absent are substituted with func+mouse. however, here is the biggest flaw in the device. since the device is folded in half to conserve space, the spacebar is split into two and is not that easy to handle. if you use your left thumb to hit the spacebar like me, there is a possiblity that you will often miss the key alltogether, but nevertheless, you can land on the key with a little practise. now if you use your right thumb, may the force be with you! the spacebar button is way outside the range of your right thumb and unless you dont mind shifting your entire hand an inch everytime you need to type, this is ok. the keyboard does take a little getting used to, especially if you have used a laptop most of your life where the base of your palm is resting at the level or above the level of your keys. i cant say much for regular keyboard users. here is something that you might try which will ease your learning curve and improve typing speed: place a thin support, some notepad or book about a quarter inch thick below the base of your palm and provide some support for your elbows while typing. frankly, the keyboard deserves more than a 3 but the reason i bought it was to make quick electronic notes on my pocket pc in classrooms without having to carry my laptop, but really its not that much of a miracle solution i was hoping for. another word of caution, the word documents created and saved on your pocketpc are not compatible with your regular ms office word program. i suggest creating a blank document on your computer and move it to the pocketpc and then type in it or you will not be able to edit the document on your pc.

Summary: Don't waste your money
Review: Don't waste your money, The PDA holder's three very flimsy support arms will not hold the PDA still, and the PDA holder will not stay up on its own. The battery life is very short. So carry extra batteries, and any where there is vibration (Airplane, Train, etc.) you are out of luck unless you use one hand to hold everything still. If I am going to use one hand to hold the PDA, then why not just use the styli?
Caution!!! Mac / Palm users you need a pc and windows to make it work!!!!!

Summary: I would give it 5 stars if it was easier to dock!
Review: I had my handspring visor deluxe for several months before I purchased the keyboard. I had a very rough time taking notes in graffiti or switching to the on-screen keyboard.
The Targus Stowaway keyboard folds and expands very nicely. It folds down to the same size as my visor and fits very easily into a purse. I have had a difficult time docking my visor into it. I'm afraid of breaking the connectors. This is the main reason that I did not give this product a five star rating.
It is a comfortable size for such a portable keyboard and very easy to use. It does require a flat and solid surface to work with. I like the location of the wells, designed to hold my stylus. You still need a stylus for some functions.
Before I got the keyboard, I was going through batteries every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how many times I hotsync or used the backlight. If I use the keyboard, I drain the batteries at a very rapid rate. This is worth having if you are a student and must take notes very rapidly.

Summary: Practical as well as Stylish
Review: I have an old Handspring Visor - the 2MB RAM variety. Buying this keyboard ...has breathed new life into this older hand held. I'm using it to write down short story and novel ideas as well as rough drafts - not exactly light weight typing tasks. The keyboard performs flawlessly and has a great tactile feel. Once I had to do a hard reset of the Visor while holding down the delete key to remove a line of text, but I attribute that to my setting the keyboard repeat rate too high. What's great is even without the LapTopHack software, there are a lot of operations you can perform without using the stylus. You can launch palm applications, execute OK, New and Cancel commands among others with the provided function keys. Certain applications are designed to take better advantage of these functions, so if you by one, look for software that's designed to work with this keyboard. WordSmith, for example, is fantastic. I'm pretty utilitarian when it comes to gadgets. Style is at the absolute bottom of my priority list. Still, I have to say this is one very slick, very stylish piece of hardware. I can't say enough good things about this keyboard. It's taken my Visor from being buried under a pile of paper under my desk to significant daily use. Thanks Targus and Think Outside!

Summary: Not the Best
Review: I purchased the wireless version after I upgraded my iPAQ to Windows Mobile 03 software and couldn't get the drivers on my old Targus keyboard to work anymore. Too bad. Overall the keyboard isn't bad. It works fine. My biggest problem with it is the size of the keyboard. It's noticeably smaller. I use it primarily to take notes in meetings and am constantly hitting the wrong key because it's just not sized like a regular keyboard. That was not a problem with the other one.
My other complaint is I would rather have the arrow keys back and get rid of the "mouse". I thought it was a great idea, but it's really more cumbersome in reality than it's worth--at least for me.
My last complaint would be to beware Targus' customer service. I tried getting help when the drivers on the old keyboard quit working and got absolutely no response from them. If you end up having a problem with your keyboard, don't expect any assistance from Targus.

Summary: Takes some getting used to
Review: I really enjoy the portability of this keyboard. At its reduced price, it was definitely worth the money and I wish I'd gotten it sooner! I agree with another reviewer that it would be much better if it had arrows because I do not see the point of having a start button when there are no arrows to maneuver through the menu and the cursor has to be moved across the entire screen. Other than that, the keyboard is a little smaller than a normal one which makes my fingers scrunch up a little and the infrared arm will sometimes move but it doesn't happen much and overall I really enjoy it! I would definitely recommend it to any student as a great affordable, more compact alternative to a laptop.

Review: No way! It does not work with the Toshiba e405, that's certain. Cannot align laser with infrared port located at the bottom righthand side of the PDA -- unless, of course, you are willing to hold it with one hand and type with the other. I'm sending it back.
