Summary: DIFICIL DE USAR!!!!

Antonio.

Summary: Indispensable for Palm M500
Review: Hooking up this cradle to my DELL computer using the serial port allowed me to finally 'HotSync' data from my PC to my Palm m500 effortlessly. Works wonderfully with the Franklin Covey Planner Software! Operating it is a 'no brainer'-- I was able to plug this into my system and HotSync in less than 5 minutes. Recommended!

Summary: At least the power works
Review: I agree with the other comments that the cradle is very tempermental with the M130. I have no problem setting my handheld in the USB cradle, but this one is much more difficult to get in properly.

More importantly, I ordered this serial cradle specifically because the USB cradle will not work with Windows NT (a grievance in itself with Palm, who just never bothered to do the work). We never got this cradle to sync with Windows NT; it never recognized a connection to the computer. I couldn't get the cradle to be recognized on my Windows XP laptop at home, either. I sent an e-mail to Palm asking for advice or help with this problem, and two weeks later have heard nothing. I plan to return the item as it was completely useless for my purposes.

Summary: Slower, But Cheaper
Review: I bought this cradle because I have to leave the USB cradle that came with my Palm M515 at the office. I chose a serial cradle for two reasons: all of my USB ports are filled at home and this cradle was significantly cheaper than a USB model.

I find that the cradle is quite a bit slower. This would be a problem if I did as many Hotsync operations at home as I do at the office. Since I only sync at home to updat my AvantGo data and to re-charge my Palm, this cradle works fine.

If you need a cradle for a situation similar to mine, don't waste your money on the more expensive USB model unless you're really impatient.

Summary: Not compatible with Tungsten E!
Review: I bought this extra cradle for my M515 to have at the office. It works just as I needed it too--no problems at all. I needed to sync with both home and office computers, not just a charging cradle. The only downside it that I have to continually take the PDA out of it's protective carry case to put it in the cradle--at home and office. It sure would be great if there was a cord that could hook up to it without removal.

Summary: Not compatible with Tungsten E!
Review: I can't comment on the quality of the cradle but I have one comment. I ordered the cradle as it was listed as an accessory for the Tungsten E. However, it does not fit into the cradle and Palm doesn't seem to currently produce one compatible with it. Just want to warn others so you don't have the hassle of having to send it back.

Summary: Still can't work it
Review: I can't get my Palm to configure w/my computer. I don't think it's the cradle though- I think it's the user. :) Palm does not fit very snuggly into the cradle. Bad design.
