Summary: Nice companion to my PALM
Review: I have both the older version, folding keyboard and recently purchased the ultra thin version. Both have good and bad points to them however, the ultra thin keyboard does sit nicely on my lap or other uneven surfaces unlike its predecessor. The keys feel relatively the same but having to get used to the function key to type numbers and other functions take a little getting used to. It literally is ultra thin which makes it easy to take along with you and I especially like how it folds in half to a very nice size. I still used both keyboards, depending on what tasks I have to do.

Summary: Confusing...at first
Review: I ordered this keyboard after trying the "Thumbboard" which was an absolute disaster. It took me about two days of trial and error to get the feel of this new keyboard. More challenging was figuring out how to navigate my Palm 515 without switching between stylus and keyboard. However, after persistence and a bit of frustration, the keyboard is a gem. I can now do almost anything with my Palm that I can do with my laptop. The keyword in that last sentence was "almost." If you have a great deal of patience, then this keyboard will work just fine for you!

Summary: Pretty Nice Keyboard
Review: I read the reviews here and am glad I ordered one anyway. It was no problem to hook up and doesn't interfere with sync on my Mac. The only negative is the lack of the number key row and the special function keys (problems mentioned elsewhere). But not bad if you spend a bit of time with it. I haven't had any keys fall off, nor have I found it to be unstable as some have said. The keys are quiet and have a nice tactile feedback so you know when you've pressed the key. All in all, a nice compact palm companion.

Summary: Annoying key trade-offs
Review: I switched from a Stowaway to this when I bought a T3. The lack of dedicated number keys is highly annoying if you are a touch typist. Having to hit a FN key instead of shift to get to parens is also really annoying. Size and rigidity is a plus, but I never thought the stowaway was that big. Overall, if you are a touch typist, I'd say this one will annoy...

Summary: Really Compact, really useful.
Review: I use this keyboard for notes during conferences with my Tungsten T, and it works like a charm. I just use the driver available at the palm.com website with no problems. It's really useful, although it take a little getting used to some of the key placements. I've used the full sized Stowaway folding keyboard as well, and this is WAY more compact. It is also really helpful that it can sit on your lap with no problems (the stowaway would fold in the middle making this impossible).

Summary: It does work...
Review: I was quite worried to buy it after reading the reviews on Amazon. But I really needed a keyboard so I bought it anyway -- and it does work. I have a Tungsten T and use WordSmith -- and the keyboard works with WordSmith and all the other programs. You can pretty much control your entire Tungsten T with the keyboard -- and I didn't even read the instruction manual, so if I had read it, maybe I could do even more... If by chance, you received one that doesn't work, try to get another one, the one you got must have been defective.

Review: I went through 2 of these keyboards, each lasting about a week of minimal use. Whether keys popped off, the bracket holding up the Palm broke, or the latch holding the keyboard folded in half jammed, this product is terrible. I had high expectations with it's great size and capacity to function in small places (airplanes, lap, etc). Completely disappointed. And don't even attempt to get a refund from F. Covey or Palm. Even after a great deal of persistance, I was told that only software issues will be addressed with replacements. BUYER BEWARE.

Summary: Utilitarian
Review: I've just bought the keyboard, and it seems versatile and useable. I would have liked another row of keys; however, it is incredibly small which is nice.
One thing I ran into was that after the first time that I used it, I couldn't hot sync to my PC. I found that if I go into the keboard icon on my Palm and uncheck "Enable keyboard" that I could hot sync again. That was a little scary at first, but now that I have discovered the fix, it's just an inconvenience.

Summary: What's all the whining about?
Review: I've loved this keyboard since it left the box!
Now I can type anywhere without going through contortions. I can even take notes while watching the sign language interpreters and not miss a thing!
The ONLY hiccup I've noticed with this is that the keyboard driver can slow down syncing. Temporarily deactivating the driver solves that problem instantly.
Quit griping about the missed characters til after you learn how to use the thing!
