Rating: Summary: Works well... Not necessary for most people... Review: I bought this charger about 6 months ago before going on vacation to Europe. I've used it in several different cars, and as expected, it works fine in every one of them. The unit is relatively large, and like its normal charger cousin, it is all plastic. This of course makes it lightweight, but gives it somewhat of a cheap feel. It's proven to be durable though. I've used it for my three NB-1L and NB-1LH batteries, and have so far had no problems. I bought it for use with my Canon Powershot S200, but it should work for all S200, S230, S400, S330, S300, S110 and S100 Powershots as well. The unit has the same light as the regular charger. After you insert your battery, it shows red when it's charging, and turns to green once the battery is charged. Due to the NB-1L and NB-1LH's relatively low capacity, I would highly recommend this charger if you're going on a road trip. I have 3 batteries for my Powershot S200, and put it to good use on a road trip even though we had a room with an electric outlet every night. Pros: * Lightweight * Works as designed (no glitches) Cons: * Seems fragile (all plastic) * A bit on the large side I've had no problems with it and it's a useful device if you're going on a road trip expecting to take a lot of small movies or expect to take 100 or so pictures each day. It's definitely a must if you've got no extra batteries.
Rating: Summary: A Gem! Review: I picked up this car charger when I purchased my Canon PowerShot S500. At first I didn't think it would get much use and that I'd been pressured by the sales guy into purchasing it. But the charger has proven itself very useful and perfect for road trips. It is super easy to use, you just plug it in to your cigarette lighter and away it goes. The lights work just like on the regular charger, so when the light turns green, you know you are good to go. As for quality, this car charger isn't of any lesser quality than the regular plug into the wall one that comes with the camera. It is just as durable and it is definitely worth the price if you are on the road with any frequency. It is a little on the larger side, so it may not fit nicely in your glovebox. All in all, this is a gem!
Rating: Summary: Save your money Review: Just get a power inverter (~35-45$) and use the included battery charger. Then you can also use the inverter to power a laptop or a drill or something useful.
Rating: Summary: Nice Charger Review: On the surface, this charger appears to be nicely made and convenient for auto use, just a bit pricey. Unfortunately and do to design, the charing unit does not securely hold the battery inplace. I've found that the battery slips out too easly, and can and does get ejected out of the charger if you hit a firm bump on the road. It's something you will want to keep an eye one. Got to where I needed the camera today, and again I found the battery on the floor of my truck.
