Rating: Summary: Nice accessory Review: CF card readers are a great accessory, especially if you have an older digital camera with a serial connection. This thing is probably 10X faster than a serial connection and is brain- dead simple to use. Plug in the card and it looks like a removable disk to the PC. Drag and drop!Even if your camera has a USB connection, this keeps you from burning batteries while downloading. The SanDisk reader works just as advertised and is well worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Worth the price; no need to use digital camera for transfers Review: For the price it sells at, I found this a very useful accessory. Not only can I avoid using the digital camera for actual photo transfers to my PC, it also saves the battery in the camera. Also, it doesn't require a separate power cord/supply because it gets it power from the PC through the USB cable. It can also help avoid the wear-and-tear on your digital camera. I used it with Windows 2000 Pro SP1 and then later with SP2.
Rating: Summary: Battery-saver! Review: I used to go through batteries like crazy downloading pictures from my camera to my PC. Save yourself the headaches and get a card reader!! I've never had a problem with this one, I didn't even need the driver/software CD that came with it. Windows ME (and XP) recognized it right away.
Rating: Summary: A lifesaver!! Review: I wish I would have bought this when I first got my digital camera. It saves so much time with downloading pictures on the computer. Before I would download pictures from my camera and several times the batteries would die right in the middle of downloading, bummer! With this little thing I can download the pictures without wasting battery power and it is a lot faster.
Rating: Summary: No brainer for CompactFlash Card users Review: I bought this when I purchased my digital camera. I have never connected the camera to my PC. I don't need to! The card reader acts as another hard drive and there is no noticeable delay in loading pictures via the reader. Since my camera did not come with an a/c adapter, I don't waste batteries by hooking up the camera to upload pics.
Rating: Summary: works great Review: SanDisk reader is rugged. Made of some type of hard rubber. No fragile plastic pieces. Does it's job without any problem. I did receive errors when transferring large number of images from my Compact flash card. I later found it was the usb port on my computer that was the problem. Only draw back was the drivers found at SanDisk's web site. They seem to be minimal drivers and not the complete set found on the CD.
