Summary: Great Compact Flash Reader, as Fast as USB Allows
Review: Delkin has been producing memory products for a long time and they seem to know their business. I purchased one of these readers to transfer images from a Delkin DDCFFLS2-256 flash card because my camera's USB interface was too slow. This card reader runs at the maximum rate supported by USB, around 1 megabyte per second.

Installation is a breeze, if you have a recent operating system like Win 2K or Win XP. You just hook the cable to your computer and it is ready to go. The reader comes with a driver CD for older operating systems.

It is also easy to use. You insert the compact flash card in the reader and it is available as a drive that can be read by any program. You simply copy or move the files you want. Select the eject option in the explorer to make sure the changes are synced and then pop the card out.

This compact flash reader is better than some others I have used. Other ones required special USB drivers that had a tendency to get themselves wedged and be unable to read a card until you rebooted. This reader has worked flawlessly so far. I highly recommend this product.

Summary: An excellent reader.
Review: I like Delkin products for their quality and this reader is no exception. I am a novice photographer and recently entered into digital photography. I also program computers. So I needed a device which I could use for both. On the weekends I can use the reader for transfering photos. During the week I use it to store and move data from PC to PC. The transfer rate is OK, the only item I wish it had was a parallel port adapter. I would highly recommend this reader.

Summary: ALL computer devices should work this way!
Review: I received my Delkin card reader today. Never heard of Delkin, but I thought I'd take a chance, and boy am I glad I did. Installation was easy. Couldn't be simpler! After plugging it into the USB port, Windows 2000 automatically detected it and installed the drivers for it. I didn't even need the software CD it came with. After rebooting the computer it was ready to go, with a drive letter assigned and everything. I stuck in the Flash memory card and accessed it with Windows Explorer, and all my pictures were there, including the thumbnails the camera uses. I'm serious when I say it took me longer to pry the thing out of its package than it did to install and start using it!

A few product details: This is a simple product -- there are no little lights and no eject buttons. You stick the card in and you pull it out yourself. If you want to see if you have a card in it, just look! Access speed is fast -- fast enough that I didn't care that it didn't have an access indicator light. It seems as fast as, if not faster than, my USB zip drive. And DEFINITELY much faster than a floppy! There are no instructions either, unless it's in the software CD. I didn't check. But who needs one with something this simple? It's as easy to use as a floppy or zip drive. This is how plug and play should be every time!
