Summary: complete junk
Review: I purchased this because it was recommended ... when I purchased my new digital camera (smart media cards). Half the time my computer won't recognize it and the other half of the time it gives me blue screen errors. I used sandisk for my old camera with compact flash cards and never had a problem. This is a terrible product and cost twice as much as my old compact flash reader.

Don't buy it.

Summary: Save wear and tear on your camera!
Review: Great product. Works just like an external hard drive for your PC. Is great for uploading/downloading digital camera shots or MP3 music files. Is faster than your camera plus saves the wear and tear of uploading/downloading from your camera or MP3 player.

Summary: Good to have with the Canon Powershot S20 & MAC
Review: This is another accessory I recommend purchasing with the Canon Powershot S20 (or any other digital camera). With this USB device, downloading shots is a breeze, as it basically functions as an additional disk drive with the Flash Card from the camera being the disk that is inserted. The Powershot S20 needs to be directly connected to my Mac (not a USB Hub) in order to download shots (dumb design), so this device avoids that situation and downloads just fine being connected to my USB Hub, and it's much faster than downloading from the camera itself.
Whether or not you have a Mac, the Reader is nice to have in order to avoid plugging and unplugging cables from the camera and the computer every time you want to download shots. All you need to do is pop out your Memory Card from your camera and insert it into the Reader. Fast and easy!

Summary: Viking IntelliFlash USB Flash Memory Reader
Review: The product works fine but I got hassled about my rebate, I had sent everything in, original invoice, the product ID tag, resend everything but have to hear back from the company yet (Sep. 20, 01).

Summary: Quick data transfer, but beware...
Review: Very quick transfer from all manufacturers of cards. Be careful with removing the card too early, although the red data light goes out, you may get severe errors with Windows Explorer (not IE). Best to just leave the card in there a while after you transfer any data.

Summary: Easy, fast, and versatile.
Review: EASY: I use this on both a Mac and a PC. Installation on both was a breeze. Works wonderfully on both as well, although the Mac does require a restart when it gets reconnected.
FAST: This thing is quick. 1.5mb/sec is an accurate rating. MPEGs copy in 3 seconds. I haven't noticed any slowing.
VERSATILE: Two slots, one for PCMCIA type I/II cards and one for Smart Media. It comes with a PCMCIA adapter for type I Compact Flash cards. This makes it able to read just about any type of memory card. Memory cards are treated like hard drives on both machines. I have no doubt that even a PCMCIA Click drive will work on this.

Summary: Be Careful
Review: Compatability is a Big Issue here. This product is essentially useless on my Canon Powershot A20. I think others may have similar problems.

Summary: Totally pleased!
Review: I was a little worried about ordering this since I'd heard that some people had problems running it with Windows ME. I took the chance, followed the directions, and had it up and running in no time. I'm using Windows ME on a Dell Dimension, 1 GIG Pentium III and the software loaded with no problems. This has made my digital camera really usable! Download time from the camera now only takes seconds!

Summary: A needed accessory for CF cards.
Review: The USB reader makes using your CF cards much easier. You pop the cards into the CF adapter and slide the adapter into the reader. This shows up as a separate volume and you can drag items on and off of it as you do a hard drive. The setup was plug and play on the Macintosh. I installed the drivers, plugged in the unit and was in business. The included CF adapter can also be used in laptop computers with PCMCIA slots, an added bonus when you're on the road and want to quickly dump photos off of your CF card so you can take more pictures.

Summary: Viking Intelliflash
Review: The Viking reader worked exactly the way eveyone would like! You plug it in, and install the software and it works the way it is supposed to. There's no need for patches or anything else to make it work. For the money, it's everything you would expect.
