Summary: Not compatible with all Smart Media devices
Review: Although this card fit well into my Rio500 MP3 player, I had to call Simpletech's 800 # and punch through a long phone tree to reach a helpful technician. He explanined that Rio 500's can't take more than 64MB, so I'll have to send it back and pay for shipping.
Find a way to verify compatibility before ordering.

Summary: Lots of Punch in a Tiny Card
Review: An excellent enhancement of any digital device! This tiny card is much more affordable than those of larger corporations and is as good, if not better, quality. It is extremely capacious and compatible with most everything. I definitely recommend it.

Summary: Hack it to work with your Olympus
Review: Great cards. I ordered two for my Oly C4000. Hacked the header with a hex editor, and now they even work in panorama mode on the camera.

Summary: How many pictures will it store?
Review: How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The SimpleTech STI-SM3/128 128MB SmartMedia Card, like most 128MB cards, will store on average 142 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 106 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 64 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 51 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 40 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

Review: I cannot estimate the endless fortune this will save me. I have a SLR and developed my own film, till I got so tired of the darkroom and the cost! Still, having it developed even from 'quickie' mail order sites cost a fortune. Worse, when you are trying to take a good picture of kitty and she goes zoom zoom zoom and ruin nearly a whole roll of film you want to scream. With this, pop it into my camera and click all day. I held on to my SLR for so long because I felt there was no way something so simply could have such quality! Wow!the colours are true, the images brilliant and SO SHARP. Too a picture of kitty four foot away and you could see a flea on her nose in the picture!

Get a good camera like the Fuji FinePix 2800 Zoom, get one of these cards and takes 100s of pictures. It puts the fun back in taking pics!!

Summary: Juice up that PDA!
Review: I don't know about you, but I have tons of contacts being a hard core road worrior (sales guy). There was no way the on board memory of my Palm was going to handle it all. Got this card and no worries. All my contacts are in with more storage to boot!

Summary: A sure bet!
Review: I have purchased the 128 MB Smart Media. I works just fine. This company has been around a long time and I have purchased their products several times for my personal computer. When I ordered the wrong memory upgrade they took care of me and when I had difficulty installing the memory they took care of me.

Summary: SimpleTech SmartMedia is slower than other brands
Review: I have three brands of SmartMedia cards: SimpleTech, Viking, and the Olympus card that came with my camera. I timed how long it took to copy the same 5MB file to each card. The result: the other cards took 32 seconds and the SimpleTech took 38 seconds. So, my results show that the SimpleTech is about 18% slower than the others. That's important to me because when I take action shots I'm often waiting for the previous image to write to disk before I can take the next shot.
