Rating: Summary: Great buy Review: You simply pop in your CompactFlash card into this card reader, then connect it to the USB port on your computer, and presto, it installs itself, and creates a drive on your computer. To view your photos, just go into "My computer" or "Explorer" and you'll see a new drive has been created. Click it and you'll see a list of all the pictures on your Compact Flash card. No messy software, no funny stuff, it just works great.I have Windows 2000, and I've also used it on XP, but it would also work the same on other versions of Windows (Basically any Windows operating system that supports USB). I don't know for sure but it would probably work on Linux as well.
Rating: Summary: A Lightweight Workhorse - A Definite Bang for the Buck Review: It's simple, relatively small, lightweight, and works GREAT! It's easily portable. Yes, it may feel a little cheap due to it lightweight plastic body construction, but that is quickly overshadowed by its performance. For the price, you really can't go wrong. It's truly a little workhorse. I really like this device and have not been disappointed with it at all.
Rating: Summary: Great value! Review: I bought this CompactFlash reader to go with a new digital camera because I don't like to hook up my camera to the computer, install camera drivers and software, etc. When this card reader arrived, I inserted my 512mb CF card, plugged it into the USB port, and Windows XP recognized it instantly. No drivers to install, no weird software. It just plain worked. The CF card shows up as a new drive in "My Computer" or Windows Explorer. The only possible downside is that this unit feels rather cheap and flimsy. I wouldn't want it to slide off my computer and hit the floor for fear of breakage. But for this price you can't go wrong. If it breaks I won't hesitate to buy another one. Overall, an excellent value.
Rating: Summary: Almost Perfect Review: Buy this reader you will no be disappointed works great in win xp
Rating: Summary: actually great product, but did not order through here Review: This is actually a great product, but I wanted three and Amazon.com limited my order to one, so I had to order it through a competitor's web site. I was not too disapppointed though since I got it cheaper and with free shipping, BUT this is a very good product and is highly recommended. I never leave info on my home PC or office PC anymore! It can read the 512 meg compact flash viking card. I do not know about 1 gig yet, but 512 is enough for me for awhile and I'm sure it can read/write all cards! It can work without the USB cord or with the USB cord. The USB cord is cool if you can't get it into a tight place or if you don't plan to move the unit. I could not find a more compact unit.
Rating: Summary: Good Product Review: This is a very good product. We can use this product with USB ports. We can drag and drop the files between PC's hard drive and compact flash card using this. I bought this to swap pictures between digital camera and the PC .
Rating: Summary: It works great Review: You plug in the CF card, plug the reader into a USB port, and you're in business. It's light and simple to use. I couldn't be happier with it.
Rating: Summary: Great product! Review: Performs very well and very fast file transfer speed. I use it on my XP system with no problems. Very happy with this product and recommend it to others.
Rating: Summary: Fast and convenience Review: I have a PowerShot digital camera A300 from Canon. In order to download the pictures from the camera, I need to install 2 separate softwares, BUT, they do not work quite well. With this SimpleTech FlashLink CF Reader, I only need to connect it to the USB port and voila`, I can drag and drop pictures like an elementary schooler playing on the computer. I have Window 2000 OP.
Rating: Summary: It's so easy! Review: This is about the handiest gadget i've purchased with my digital camera. It's so easy to use...plug it into your USB port, insert the flash card, and voila'! You have your pics downloaded. It works exactly as advertised, and I would recommend it for anyone.
