Rating: Summary: How many pictures will it store? Review: How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.
The Viking CF256M-P 256MB Compact Flash, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.
I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.
Rating: Summary: Keep losing data Review: I have a wonder trip and a perfect camera but I kept losing my data with this Viking CF Card. It kept saying "data error" or some others I couldn't even remember. I almost have heart attacked when I first lost my beautiful pictures taken in the second day of my trip. My advice, think twice before you buy!!!

Rating: Summary: Works Fine. Review: I'm not too sure how anyone can have a problem using this flash card. I purchased a Canon PowerShot S400 4MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom along w/ this Flash card and had no problems. All you have to do is put the card in, format it and you're done. I've had no problems w/ losing data or errors of any sort. Card works as promised, error free.

Rating: Summary: It works as promised Review: I've had this compact flash card for a few months now, taken hundreds of pictures with it, filled it to near capacity with images and movies from my Nikon Coolpix 4300, and haven't had any problems. I don't have any experience with other kinds of CompactFlash cards in my camera to compare the write speed of this Viking card to, but I can say it has worked flawlessly for me. Its important to keep in mind that the speed at which a digital camera can write to a card is usually limited by the internals of the camera more than the card itself, so buying an incredibly fast card may not help the camera's write speed. As with all things, its best to research this before you make a purchase.
