Rating: Summary: Don't listen to the naysayers, just get it! Review: Me -- I sold all of my Coolpixes.. great cameras that they were, and all of my accessories, including several 256MB CF cards... for an all Fuji product line. No regrets! xD has it all over CF.. much smaller, far less power-hungry, faster write times.. and as far as you CF card whiners, grow up! Yah, it's Fuji. Fuji is huge. Sony has their own card -- Sony sells hundreds of millions worth of electronics every year too, and if Sony or Fuji put their name on a technology, you can be damn sure that it'll work perfectly with their product line. Or did you CF guys for get that? Not all CF cards work equally well.. or at all.. with all cameras that take CF. Or let me put it another way: Apple Computer is famous (and successful) for making proprietary hadware and software - it all works beautifully together, get it?Not big enough memory size? I just added a couple of 512MB xD cards, Fuji has a 1GB card coming out any day now, and Fuji projects capacity increases up to 8 GIGABYTES. What more do you need? If you like the Fuji Cameras.. and you will -- I own an S5000 and an S7000 and they're fantatstic(!), then don't be lazy: Sell you old, oversized, battery-draining and s l o w CF cards on ebay (or here on amazon). Get your Fuji, and just get the xD cards. You can always sell them if you change brands. It's as simple as that. Great product, great technology.
Rating: Summary: great product Review: need I say more. Other than the fact that you have to have this in order to take picture with e the fuji 3800, it is a wonderful xD card and reasonable compared to some other types.
Rating: Summary: fast and furious Review: okay so everyone's upset about new technology???? This picture card is efficient and fast and holds lots more pictures than the known standard. I see nothing wrong with Fuji making their cards smaller, more efficient and better all around. Maybe this type card should become the market standard.
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money! Review: Stay away from Fuji and Olympus cameras which force you to buy their propreitary formats. They are just another overpriced flash format which no one needed. xD won't work in any other device. Say no to xD and drugs.
Rating: Summary: Do We Really Need Yet Another Flash Memory Format? Review: Sure, the read/write speed is fast. Sure, it's supposed to be energy efficient. But -- puhLEEEEEZ! Compact flash was fine at first, but doesn't make the grade in today's minuscule digital cameras. The SD (Secure Digital) format, however, does. Here's the kicker -- you can get an SD card with up to 1 gig of storage. The xD format hasn't even started shipping a 256 megabyte card yet. Yes, the Fuji and Olympus cameras (the only two that take the xD format) are terrific gadgets. But there are SD-compatible cameras that are just as good and, frankly, somewhat cheaper. Why not buy one of them instead?
Rating: Summary: tell the truth-- Review: the Fuji and Olympus xD cards DO NOT cost 2-21/2x the other types available and in use today--I understand change is difficult for some folks but telling untruths about a new product is unacceptable---the xD card is faster and uses less battery juice which helps the photographer by making battery charge or change less frequent(saves money and time)--therefore, any small difference in initial purchase costs will be repaid many times over duting the life of the card-
Rating: Summary: Fujifilm 128 MB xD Picture Card Review: The xD card is great. I get 29 pictures on the 32 mb card and they are clear and it is so quick to transfer to my PC or erase from the card. Love it!
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL Review: THIS CARD IS GREAT...ITS EASY TO USE AND HAS LOTS OF SPACE TO TAKE TONS OF PICTURES!!!! BUY IT
Rating: Summary: Stop whining.... Review: This format works just fine. I can't understand the issue people are having with this card. Yes it is new and it is more expensive. Remember what the other format cards cost when they were new?? The price is already dropping on xD cards now. My Fuji Camera takes amazing pics and I dont care if it has a different format card in it. I dont plan to use it in another camera. This card uses less power and writes faster than older formats. To me this is a very important feature. It works and it works well. Technology is improving. What, should we just stop and all be happy with one format that is developed? Did these people complain to Sony when the CD was developed? What about to Mercedes because they developed the air-bag and antilock brakes in cars?? Things change....get over it.
Rating: Summary: small device with relatively large capacity Review: this thing is tiny - it is amazing how small it is. holds enough memory for a decent amount of pictures (about 78 pictures at 3 megapixels).
